The person I interviewed was Jill Patton. Jill Patton is a special needs assistant at Bowling Green Middle School. She is a very funny and a fun person to be around. Jill was born in 7-16-1974 in Toledo Ohio. Jill’s parents names are Art and Paula Patton. She has one sister named Laurie Patton. She has lived in Texas, Florida, and Ohio. There are too many schools that Jill went to that she can remember but she does remember graduating from Sylvania NorthView. Jill has short dirty blond hair , She is 4.11 ½ , She also has blue eyes and wears glasses. Some leases that Jill has learned throughout her life. The lesson that Jill had to learn the hard way was that things aren't given to you you have to work for it. Not finishing college was another
Grace has never had a real home her whole life. For Grace and her mom, “there was always a better job or place to live, better schools or less crime” (15). A second theme of the story is give people second chances. Lacey and Grace had a secret plan, Plan B, in which they would drive Grace’s grandma crazy enough that Grace could go back to living with Mrs.Greene and Lacey. Grace should have given Grandma another chance because she might not understand everything she's lost such as “waiting for her daughter to come home” but years later dead (196). Another theme of the story is spend the most time with loved ones while they’re here. Grace finally realized her grandma isn’t so bad. They both want “to find a way to get them back”, they’re loved ones, and that’s through each other (196). Grace has lost her dad, grandpa, and mom, but doesn’t realize that her grandma lost them too and could be
In Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson it brings forth the lesson of perseverance. Mattie had to keep going and persevering even though her world was crashing down around her. When Mother first got sick Mattie had to look after her and attempt to care for her.
... education. Katie firmly believes that schooling is her children’s only escape from poverty. She is not embarrassed that Francie’s knowledge surpasses her own, instead she pushes her daughter to work harder. Kaite’s constant pushing results in Francie’s acceptance into a college university. Katie Nolan is the heart and soul of the Nolan family and without her Francie would not grow up to be a hard working, intelligent young woman.
She expressed how many lessons she learned throughout her years on the farm, and how they have shaped her to become the woman she is now. Some of the important lessons she learned on the farm were hard work, dealing with death (of animals) at an early age, how to prioritize responsibilities and how to respect others. When Alice turned 18, she met Charles Cox. Not even a year later and they were married. Five children later, they had made a family of their own.
Before setting out, she gave herself a list of rules she had to follow so that her experience would be as real as it could be. Her first rule was when looking for a job she couldn't mention the skills she had learned from her education. Second, she had to take the highest paying job that was being offered to her. Third, she had to live in the cheapest accommodation that she could, providing that it was a safe environment. Going hungry and being homeless weren't ever able to be options.
Since Francie was young she saw the city as opportunity and a way of getting out of the poverty she was always struggling in. Now she realizes that no matter where is she is, she can overcome anything she puts
Sarah Polley’s film Stories We Tell is as much about how we interpret images – what we take as “true” – as it is about how we remember. Through a close analysis of the film discuss what you think the film sets out to do and how it achieves these aims. In answering this question you might also want to look at reviews of the film.
She was put into a situation where life is a challenge, like the Joshua tree which is beautiful because of its struggle. “If situations like these, I realized, were what turned people into hypocrites”(Walls 144). During these pages she shows us the true meaning of life. She is friends with a African American. She shows us that other people have a rough time also, not just her and her family. Jeanette had a good life, she got a bike, travel around the world, and got to be friends with people. She cannot just go off and be a hypocrite, she shows us that life is more than living, but enjoying it as much as you can with the things you have. This is all achieved by writing it down in an effective Memoir and by using good mix of great and bad
There are many more examples throughout this movie that can be connected or assessed to the many different concepts that was learned. There are many real-life events and these concepts are important because they allow people to see how different types of people and families deal with stress and problems and it is important not to judge or jump to conclusions and maybe take a step back and take time to consider what others may be going
...family that she grew up in was such a negative environment. It is very possible that she will grow up to be an art teacher. One might think this because she looked up to her art teacher so much and admired her; Ellen’s mind is full of creativity and ideas. When Ellen’s school found out that her dad was abusive to her they put her up at her art teacher’s house. Ellen says “I came a long way to get here but when you think about it really hard you will see that old Starletta came even farther… And all this time I thought I had the hardest row to hoe” Like Ellen did, it is important for everyone to look back into their life and see what they have learned. Doing so cannot change ones past but only add to their future. Ellen will always carry the horrors of her childhood with her but by using all of her assets that she gained throughout the book her future can be enriched.
Most kids have ideas of what they want to be when they grow up. Astronauts and princesses, ninjas and cowboys, rock stars and pro athletes all seem to be an achievable profession when we are young. It is not until we age where we find that reaching for the stars can leave a person hitting back down on earth pretty hard. However, I was never one of these kids. My entire life I have never had any idea of what I wanted to do for a living, at least not until I started watching a television show called Our America With Lisa Ling. There was something about Lisa Ling that captivated my attention and left me inspired. For the first time in my life I know what I wanted to be. I wanted to be just like Lisa Ling. I admire Lisa Ling for her ability to connect with her audience and the depth she brings to the topic.
One of the lessons included independence at a very young age. At age three Jeanette was cooking hot dogs alone while her parents were in another room. “I started stirring the hot dogs again, I felt a blaze of heat on my right side. I turned to see where it was coming from and realized my dress was on fire.” (9). After the incident the Walls family brought her to the ER and took care of her deathly burns. Then right when her dad sneaks out of the ER she cook her hotdogs once again. First, she was independent to be cooking hot dogs at the age of three but the fact she did it after she got out of the hospital alone shows a lot of independence. Another lesson she learned was forced through learning how to swim. “He did it again and again, until the realization that he was rescuing me only to throw me back in the water...So instead of reaching for Dad’s hands I tried to get away from them.” (66) If you think about it in the big picture she learned to stop relying on her parents even though it was just learning how to swim she may have learned a greater lesson without even realizing
Lynnsey Tabor was born on April 30th 2002. She had brown hair and blue eyes. When she was younger, she was the nicest and the sweetest girl without a care in the world. She was a lot like me. Always with the guys and hated the prissy girls. She would always go to her grandpa’s house on her dad’s side of the family and all of her cousins were boys. So, she would always do the things they did, such as Legos, batman, video games and Youtube. She was a lot like me in some of those ways.

The person that I see as a person of passion would have to be Lauren Fristrom. Lauren is my cousin who is 30 years old and is a Registered Nurse. I chose her because this Thanksgiving she had asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told her that I have need to make the decision between a Veterinarian and a Registered Nurse. She asked me, “Which job interested you more”. I told her that I loved to help people and animals, but I had no idea which job I would have more fun and experiences with.
