• Your intervention practices (successes, failures, preferences) o My case management skills are increasing and become more successful this week. I am learning how to manage multiple clients while providing them resources for a safe discharge. I am still learning the variety of resources but count my wiliness to learn a success and not a failure.
• Aspects of clinical practice that consume or renew your energy o Paperwork in the social work field is an important factor in providing support to clients. Through this internship, I have gathered that documentation helps to insure that everyone involved in the case have an understanding of the patient’s current status and goals for a healthy discharge. Lately within this clinical practice, I have seen how much paper work can consume a clinician’s day. It seemed this week I spent more time entering progress notes in to the data base instead of assisting patients on the floor. I learned that trying to find a nice balance can help me feel less overwhelmed and consumed by the amount of documentation.

I spoke with the team about the client previous use of substance abuse and as a result of his use of substance he burned bridges with his family. Now that the client is in need of support and help with medical decisions, his family is unavailable. At the end of the team meeting, I felt competent in my ability to speak up about a patient and remind the team of non-social workers of the external factors affecting the patient. I used my understanding of the Biopsychosocial-spiritual perspective in providing a holistic picture of the patient’s current state. I was excited to use my class room learning in a non-social work
