Miranda thinks she is in love with Dev but in reality she is not because she doesn 't know him as a person at all. She soon realize this after the child tell her the meaning of Sexy. Miranda could have avoided it by breaking up with Dev the moment he told her that he was married. Instead, she followed him like a lost puppy not knowing that the partnership was just a way for Dev to have some fun. Even when she heard about the cheating of her friend’s cousin she refuse to take the chance and be a better person and break up with Dev. It not only her fault, but Dev as well since he led her on into falling in love with him. She could of try to get to know him and asked him questions. The main character is not trying to get to know his wife at all. Even if he does not have any feeling for her, He could try to learn to love her. It feels like he does not want to try to and needed someone to show him that his wife is very important to him. It was his job to love her and protect her even if he does not know her that well. Miranda has the same problem as the main character and that is trying to get to know someone they do not know the person they are with. The Natural is a novel written by Bernard Malamud. It is Malamud’s first novel that initially received mixed reactions but afterwards, it was regarded as an outstanding piece of literature. It is a story about Roy Hobbs who after making mistakes in his life, he returns the bribery money and is left with self-hatred for mistakes he has done. Hobbs was a baseball player who aspired to be famous, but because of his carnal and materialistic desire, his quest for heroism failed, as he was left with nothing. In the modern world, the quest for heroism is a difficult struggle, and this can be seen through the protagonist in The Natural.
The memoir My Body Politic is an inspirational first person framework by Simi Linton. Her powerful stories give the reader a strong understanding on disability studies as well as the challenges Simi endured as she lived through a difficult time period for someone having a disability. When she became disabled in the 70’s, Simi’s life drastically changed. After spending months in the hospital and rehabilitation centers, Simi decided to take the opportunity to move to New York and attend college there. While living in Berkeley, she discovered that her neighborhood was more accommodating for people with wheelchairs, making it a welcoming space to live in. It was there where she discovered the political disability movement which inspired her to go back to university to get her bachelor’s degree in psychology.
The title of the book that I have chosen to review is called What Patients Taught Me: A Medical Student’s Journey, the title related to the topic on hand which is about medical rotations in faraway locations that are uncivilized and even remote. The book was published in 2009, and this is significant because it can be relatable to those that are entering the medical field and want a novel that shows the experience and what they have to do for them to become medical professionals. The company Sasquatch Books, which is in Seattle, Washington where she ended up becoming a professor at the University of Washington.
Finally, even though, for a long time, the roles of woman in a relationship have been established to be what I already explained, we see that these two protagonists broke that conception and established new ways of behaving in them. One did it by having an affair with another man and expressing freely her sexuality and the other by breaking free from the prison her marriage represented and discovering her true self. The idea that unites the both is that, in their own way, they defied many beliefs and started a new way of thinking and a new perception of life, love and relationships.

The mother of the three daughters in the novel is Mah. Mah’s first marriage was to a man named Dulcie Fu. This marriage was a relationship that was founded solely on infatuation. Mah was young and thought she was in love. Soon after the first daughter Leila was born, her husband up and left to Australia and never returned. This happens all too often in today’s society. Young women in America become overly infatuated without even knowing what a relationship involves. The media portrays relationships at a young age as perfect and unending. However this is rarely the case. According to divorcestatistics.org, “50% of marriages end in divorce of couples married under the age of 25.” Love means something different to everyone. Each person seeks different points of interest in a relationship, and what you put into a relationship will rarely be equal to what you get back. Love can leave a scar on your heart but also healing to your soul.
Although, he tries to better himself, Yunior’s awful treatment to women prohibit him from attaining a significant connection with them. His dishonesty erodes his strength, health, and his relationships with not only women, but his family and friends. Yunior realizes that his own heartbreak was his own fault due to betraying his fiance. His language of objectifying women only makes the reader see how disrespectful he is towards females. His words and actions towards his past lovers make him regretful and guilty for the hurt he put them though. He becomes aware of the fact that he lost someone precious which leads him to feel remorse for himself. In the story, The Natural, certain characters and events are portrayed in a distinctive way that makes this story unique to other books and shows the typical writing style of the narrator. The author uses a repetitive writing technique that is impossible to overlook. The writer of this book is able to catch the reader’s eye with his concept of the importance of beautiful description. The Natural, by Bernard Malamud, uses great imagery that makes the story appealing.
This story is a great representation of how relationships have changed over the years. Weather its the female dominance or the relationships are given up. Shoba and Shukumar are great examples of this phenomenon. This couple can be related to a typical American relationship. Jhumpa Lahiri does a good job of detailing this failure of a relationship and explains how this couple breaks apart.
The limited character in Michael Ondaatje’s novel, The English Patient, was Almásy. Almásy was a man who was burned from head to toe, and whose identity is unrecognizable thus making him a limited character. The novel takes place in a villa where the man was being taken care of by Hana, a young nurse who stayed behind to take care of Almásy while the rest of the nurses escaped to a safer place to stay. She calls him the English patient because of his accent, though she is unaware of where he is from. The entire novel is focused on the history of the English patient, where he tells the story of his past to Hana, Caravaggio, and Kip. Although in the present Almásy is a limited character, the novel is based on the constant flashbacks of his terrible past where he is a normal man struggling for his true love thus leading him to his present state.
Furthermore, this couple will get divorced because of their opposite thoughts. Men and women are two different species, and sometimes those differences stand in a way of their relationships. It is obvious that the characters in this poem can not find any equilibrium in their feelings. Every action of these characters showed negativity, which predicted their final separation.
