Introduction
The business used for my internship this semester was Hyatt Place in Rogers, Arkansas. This location was once an AmeriSuites that was renovated into a Hyatt Place. The Rogers Hyatt Place is owned by McKibbon Hotel Management. McKibbon also owns seventy five other hotels in ten other states in the Southeastern United States. Hyatt Place has one hundred and three rooms in either king or two doubles. All of the rooms are suites and are separated into a couch area, and a bed area. Each room also holds a refrigerator, desk and flat screen t.v with HD channels. Hyatt Place has four main departments within the hotel. These departments include management, front desk, housekeeping and maintenance. The management team includes a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Sales Director and an Operational Manager.
“Understanding the Organization's Business”
1. What is the purpose of the organization and their objectives?
Hyatt Place has the main purpose of satisfying their customers at all costs. This hotel strives to be extremely hospitable and provide the guest with anything they need or want. This purpose is known to be completed when a guest returns to Hyatt Place, and ultimately becomes a regular of the hotel.
The first objective is to receive high ratings on the online evaluation from our guests. The second objective is to sell out of rooms each night. The last main objective is to switch all of our shift logs, information, maintenance requests, customer complaints and messages between coworkers or management to one computer software. As of now, this information is scattered through out notebooks, post it notes and emails. Organization is lacking and this step to one computer program would help to im...

In conclusion, I would have rated myself myself a nine out of ten. There were not any moments that I would change. Even sticky instances were major learning experiences. I am a better worker because of those rough times. My work ethic and heart were put into this job at top notch. My management team reenforced this by telling me how thrilled they were with my performance. My internship was filled with endless, stressful shifts that I handled very well. The stress became apart of the job description. I was to never show the guest that stressful situations were present. I was to never show the guest that stressful situations were present. This semester has prepared me for my full time job. I can now confidently say I am ready for the next step of my career.
The Wyndham has executed a compliance program to strengthen ethics throughout the company. They have drafted a thorough Code of Business Conduct that has received top scores from the Ethisphere Institute for its comprehensiveness and availability to stakeholders. Another way the Wyndham contributes to customer is creating a customer relationships. When consumers think about and associate the Wyndham hotel company the first thought that should come to hand is an upscale hotel chains that targets high end consumers. However, the Wyndham targets travelers from across the world and social status. For example, they have different hotels that expend the reach of consumers some of them include Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Wyndham Garden, and Wyndham Grand Collection, Days Inn, Super 8, Travel Lodge, and others. This strategy allows Wyndham to avoid brand confusion but also set apart with having a wide variety of consumers. Ending with Availability of products and customer care services: The products of the Wyndham are always available in markets and keeps on changing customer requirements. Their customer care service is also effective that help customers in making right and quick
-“Sense of Place” philosophy- each hotel has a local character and culture of the given location. Architecture and history in implemented in each individual hotel which is very different approach than chain-like competitors. This was a power tool that Rosewood had!

Considered these new demands, they want to setup a new online booking & scheduling system. The mission of our team is to help C.A.T.S. Before the internship, I thought judges were of course humans, but I was hoping they were nice. I thought it was going to be a bit intimidating, but I knew I looked up and aspired their profession. It was like the day I was going to meet my judge I was so nervous, yet I looked forward to it. I remember I was surprised different Judges would run their courtrooms differently. I thought they would kind of have a similar system for things, which they sort of do, but not completely. Generally speaking, the Judges are great individuals and are very unique. Most of the Judges have lived pretty interesting lives and seem to enjoy their jobs. The Judges seem to be very knowledgeable, and very considerate of the Jury, court reporters, and their clerks. The judges of course seem neutral when in front of the jury as expected. For example, Judge Lippitt, does not allow anytime to speak over each other in her court room she is always saying that they have to be respectful there is a human being recording this, referring to the court reporter. Then, she is very considerate of the Jury and their time, she will tell them the trial is longer at times to make them happy if it ends early. Further, Judge Lippitt really cares about the jury instructions and that they are as neutral as possible. Something I have learned from Judge Lippitt, is that you have to be very careful as a judge to notice when attorney’s are acting a little suspicious. Another very significant lesson I have learned from Judge Lippitt is that preparedness and awareness is really important.
The internship that I acquired during the summer of 2010 at the Greenwood Sports and Industrial Rehabilitation Center (GSIRC), allowed me to gain an immeasurable amount of experience during my tenure at this facility. Within this period, the exposure to new concepts within the physical therapy industry allowed me to observe and work hands on with patients of all ages and disabilities that exposed me to various treatment plans and programs to restore client’s mobility. The essential Physical Education and Exercise Science (PEES) courses taken at Lander University were beneficial to my academic knowledgebase, which prepared me and developed me for the opportunity within the physical therapy discipline. Working as an intern taught me the responsibility of time management and working within a lean schedule that allow me to further develop my skill set. This reflection paper will illustrate my classroom experience, internship experience, and learning experience.
The purpose of this assignment is to reflect on the course from a learner’s perspective and write an autobiography regarding my experience. In this assignment, I will reflect on my perspective regarding scholarly language and terminology while discussing the successes and challenges synthesizing journal articles, the process for completing annotated bibliographies and performing journal critiques, and discuss and assess my critical thinking and writing skills. Additionally, I will discuss the concepts learned that will assist me in the future and my recommendations for the course that will assist doctoral students.
Prior to the three days we spent discussing clinical and experimental internships, I had only a vague idea of what internships entailed. I had only briefly spoken with second-year graduate students about their experiences. Thus, I found the psychology professional forum, internship panel, and Dr. Northington’s presentation to be quite helpful. Likewise, all three events provided different insights regarding internships. I had not yet given much consideration to the pros and cons of each internship sites, the experiences that would be the most valuable and lastly, how my internship choice would impact my career path. As a student on the clinical-track, I think that I would benefit the most from (1) an internship site that requires a moderate amount of report writing (2) an internship site where I can help facilitate group therapy and possibly sit in on individual
The quarter has finally come to an end, and with that, I close out my internship and this class that went along with it. It was a great experience and I leave equipped with a new set of skills that are preparing me for the world ahead. As I write this reflection paper, I think back to the very first week when I set up two goals for myself to focus on and hope to achieve throughout the following weeks. My first goal was to develop a better understanding of myself within the work place, and my second was to develop a strong network to jumpstart my career. Both of my goals were achieved, however, I don’t feel that either of my goals will ever be complete. I believe that you can always formulate a better understanding of yourself, and you can always network to develop a stronger tree of connections. I know for a fact, however, that I reached satisfaction with both of my goals at this internship at MKI and know whole-heartedly that I did everything in my power to exhaust my resources in
Throughout my internship, I was well trained and did receive a fruitful experience. The real working environment prepared me for future employment after my graduation. However, I did encounter some problems, which I gradually managed to deal with. Whatever happens, productivity increases by keeping a positive attitude.
The Hotel industry has become very important in the past years due to immense traveling and growth of international business. The Hotel industry not only plays an important role in the life of people but as well as the economy of the country. I spent an hour of my day relaxing in the lobby at the Fontainebleau resort in Miami, while on vacation with my family visiting from out of state. It was my first time staying at the resort so I was eager to check it out, after seeing such great reviews on Yelp and hearing great things from friends who have been there in the past. The employees working at the resort were very welcoming, professional and willing to go above and beyond to help their guests. The check-in process was very quick due to having
During the course of time, I’ve learned many useful things that have led me to be the person I want to be today. From college classes to work experiences, I now have the ability to exceed upon internship experiences that can shape my perspective on life. The purpose of this paper is to summarize, reflect, analyze, and synthesize on my internship experience at the Children’s Home of Reading-Acute Partial Hospitalization Program.
Throughout this term, my fellow classmates and I have had a chance to participate in a group project with two or three of our peers. The general topic was a vivid problem in a industry. Our class had a very wide and diverse sets of topics: from Styrofoam, to industrial hacking, to corruption in an influential international organization like FIFA, and so many more. Our group decided to develop a project named “Outsourcing and the price we pay for brands”. The name itselves is somewhat self-explanatory, however the problem is so much more complicated and interesting. In this paper, many struggles and concerns, of the group and of my my own, will be unfolded as I reflect the progress of this project.
