In 1984, he took on his most iconic role, The Terminator, a movie so successful there were many sequels. The Terminator movies, and a host of others, made Arnold the king of action movies in the 1980’s. Then he branched out to other roles, starring in comedies like Twins, Kindergarten Cop, and Junior. The success of those movies proved Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn’t just a body and an action star, he was a true actor who could take on all kinds of roles. On August 28th, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. gave one of the most notable speeches in American history, at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. King started off his famous “I Have a Dream” speech by stating the impact it would have on America’s civil rights movement: “I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation” (King 1). With knowledge of rhetoric and persuasion, King had a substantial impact on the civil rights movement. Martin Luther King Jr.’s use of ethos, pathos, and logos appeals enable King to persuade the audience to achieve equality.
Not long after this did Martin die at the age of 30 by a man named James Earl Ray. Martin made a huge impact on racism. He even stopped some of the segregated things going on such as the bus boycott. He won many awards including being the youngest man to win a nobel peace prize. He became a symbol of nonviolent protest for equal rights for blacks. Furthermore, he overcame his struggles in a peaceful manner.
Fifty-five million people die each year and yet the number of people who get a grand memorial can be virtually counted on a few dozens of hands.
