Not just any man, but a herculean man who set goals and worked hard with tireless determination to make his dreams a reality. This man is Arnold Schwarzenegger. At six foot two inches tall and 235 pounds, he’s earned the title Mr. Olympia for the sixth consecutive year. You’d probably be surprised to learn that Arnold Schwarzenegger was a small child and was rejected by his family, mainly because of his runty size. But Arnold’s unending desire and tireless determination allowed him to find a way to America to become an actor. Arnold reached his dream through bodybuilding, becoming one of the most famous bodybuilders to ever compete and the reason bodybuilding became so popular in the United States. Once in America, it was not hard for Arnold to earn action roles, even though he struggled with the English language. Producers still wanted him, just based on his look. One of his most famous early movies was Conan the Barbarian which hit box office gold in 1982 and thrust Arnold into the Hollywood spotlight. In 1984, he took on his most iconic role, The Terminator, a movie so successful there were many sequels. The Terminator movies, and a host of others, made Arnold the king of action movies in the 1980’s. Then he branched out to other roles, starring in comedies like Twins, Kindergarten Cop, and Junior. The success of those movies proved Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn’t just a body and an action star, he was a true actor who could take on all kinds of roles.
