Insomnia Cookies is a late night cookie joint for people who get a sudden sweet tooth around midnight. They’re a nationwide company that made their way to the Classic City, and has been satisfying college student’s cravings for many years. It all started in 2003 with a man named Seth Berkowitz, who loved cookies and was selling them out of his dorm room at Pennsylvania State. Not only was he selling them, but he was delivering them to people around campus as well. Insomnia Cookies shortly then became a company and its first store opened up in New Jersey. Insomnia Cookies now has over 80 nationwide locations and is still expanding. In college, you’re almost all the time on the go, at home doing something or doing nothing at all. Insomnia currently sells twelve varieties of cookie flavors, different ice creams, a variety of drinks such as milk, water, and soda and caters to people’s sweet tooth real well. What really makes Insomnia Cookies so unique is that they deliver from 12 pm all the way to 3 am, or you can go in and take out. …show more content…
Their M&M chocolate chip cookie was one the best cookies I have ever tried. I have also tried their mint double chocolate chip and their chocolate chocolate chunk, and neither one seemed to disappoint. Being a small hole in the wall located on Clayton Street in downtown Athens right next to Masada Outdoors, this little cookie shop is never empty. The staff at Insomnia Cookies is always friendly and the cookies they have to offer are constantly fresh, and warm. If you go to school in Athens you know that Insomnia Cookies is one suitable dessert place where you are not breaking your bank
the surface structure of these poems appears simplistic, but subtle changes in tone or gesture move the reader from the mundane to the sublime. In an attempt to sleep, the speaker in "Insomnia" moves from counting sheep to envisioning Noah's arc to picturing "all the fish in creation/ leaping a fence in a field of water,/ one colorful species after another." Collins will tackle any topic: his subject matter varies from snow days to Aristotle to forgetfulness. Collins relies heavily on imagery, which becomes the cornerstone of the entire volume, and his range of diction brings such a polish to these poems
Sleep is a way to conserve energy, is restorative, centers on the role of sleep in brain plasticity, and can enhance your memory. Insomnia is a sleep disorder which an individual can have problems falling asleep, waking up during the night, or waking up to early. Another is Somnambulism, which is sleepwalking or sleep talking. Nightmares are a frightening dream that awakens a dreamer from REM sleep.
Many people, including Elvis Presley have or had insomnia, "Elvis Presley had serious insomnia, by his ex-wife's account, and ultimately became addicted to Placidyl, a sedative so dangerous that it's no longer on the market."2 so it’s definitely common! Nothing to be greatly cautious about, but should most definitely be addressed by a doctor or a physician. If the insomnia is high, or does not go away on its own, then immediate attention and/or treatment is necessary because you may be suffering from other life threatening diseases such as: Congestive heart disorder, diabetes, or a Chiara malformation.

Sleep is a condition of the mind and body in which the nervous system is relatively inactive, the eyes are closed, the muscles are relaxed and consciousness is practically suspended. On average a person needs between seven and nine hours of sleep, which can be hard to achieve with the stresses of life. Sleep can drastically affect how the mind functions. Studies have found that a lack of sleep can decrease motor skills and affect a persons memory. Among memory and motor skills, lack of sleep can negatively affect cognition. Cognition is the process of thinking which is needed for the writing process and other creative elements. If people increase the amount of sleep they receive, then there writing process will be better. Some studies have
Another reason that causes the negative relationship between sleep deprivation and academic performance is the impact of high-stress level that is caused by sleep deprivation. As mentioned earlier, sleep deprivation could decrease a student’s critical thinking and problem-solving skills. However, it can also make the students feel more stressful. According to the survey conducted in Ball State campus, there are 15 students that often do their homework before they go to bed. 10 students play video games, computer games, and mobile games before they go to sleep. 8 students use their electronic devices to do social activities. 5 students watch movies and television series and 2 students read books before they go to bed. This information proves
Caffeine on this energy drink blocks the effects of adenosine, a brain chemical that helps you sleep which is why too much can lead to insomnia.
Arguably, it is due his lack of identity that suffers from insomnia. His insomnia intensifies his identity crisis, as he is unable to differentiate between dreams and reality. Ironically, the cure that the narrator finds merely proliferates his lack of identity. He attends support groups for the terminally ill under different aliases. Whereas his IKEA fetish was caused by a “consumer’s ability to choose from a vast range of identities through products and labels” (Davis, 2002), the support groups are an attempt at belonging somewhere. “His portrayal as an exhausted and numb narcoleptic insomniac is a vivid depiction of a man suffering from the failed promise of self-fulfillment in a brand name, corporate-driven consumer society” (Davis, 2002).

Furthermore, there are clear distinctions in the type of naps that are commonly used. Some people may choose to nap to replace lost sleeping time, which is referred to as “replacement napping”, others may want to prepare for an extended period of wakefulness by napping, which is also known as “prophylactic napping”, and a third motivation to nap is described as appetitive napping, when a person naps for pure enjoyment of falling asleep (Milner & Cote, 2008). These three types of naps could apply to the subject of this particular study, which is a college student. College students are subject the enormous amounts of stress and pressure from parents and teacher to get all their work done, perform in the classroom, obtain good grades, etc… and they form a group that could profit largely from napping.
The four stages of sleep are REM (rapid eye movement sleep), NREM1 (non-rem), NREM2, and NREM3. During the REM stage “your heart rate rises, your breathing becomes rapid and irregular, and every half-minute or so your eyes dart around in momentary burst of activity behind closed lids” (Myers, 2014, p. 96).
Sleep is a very important factor in the human function. Our body and brain is able to reset itself and rejuvenate while we sleep. When we do not get the required amount of sleep, we start to feel lethargic and foggy minded, because our mind and body wasn’t able to replenish itself. Sleep is imperative that an insignificant rest deficiency or lack of sleep can affect our ability to remember things; decisions and can affect our temperament. Chronic sleep deficiency can get the body to feel agitated and it could lead to serious health problems such as, heart problems, stress, acne, and obesity.
