In the 18th century an abundance of revolutions occurred. In many people's lives a spark for change overcame them. Many began questioning the authorities and beliefs they were forced to follow before using scientific methods. During the 18th century England benefited from the Industrial Revolution in a small extent. First, the cities of England became extremely unsanitary and very crowded. Next, the working conditions within factories were brutal and terrible for the workers. On the other hand, people were still able to benefit from the growth of transportation and increased amount of goods. To begin, factory workers happiness and civilization greatly suffered. Within the factories all happiness of workers was lost. During the Industrial Revolution the amount of products being produced outshined the terrible working conditions the factory workers endured. The once civilized citizens quickly turned uncivilized (Doc. 4). English benefited from the Industrial Revolution in small extent regarding the suffering the workers endured. The cities became very unhappy places. The amount and quality of the goods produced outshined the horrific conditions. Due to all of the circumstances life quickly turned uncivilized. Next, the reward for the long hours the workers endured was not nearly enough. Factory workers were downgraded and many suffered physically. Many factors couldn’t afford or even just didn’t have access to food. These workers were long hours in terrible conditions for little pay off (Doc. 5). During this time of an increase in machinery Eli Whitney, an American, invented the cotton gin that made for a much more efficient way of separating seeds from cotton. This cotton was used very often in the factories, explaining what some of the lose particles being breathed in by the workers were. First, larger cities brought the need for more transportation. In 1760 Manchester City was very small. By 1850 Manchester immensely increased in size. The new size of the city brought a need for transportation. New railroads and canals were built in the city (Doc. 1). Much of the transportation and machines created during this time were powered by a steam engine created by James Watt. James Watt, from Scotland, created the steam engine that used steam to power machinery. England benefited from the Industrial Revolution in a large extent due to the increase in cities and transportation. England was able to grow their cities to much larger sizes over the course of one hundred years. This growth brought new railroads and canals for transportation. These new methods of transportation made trade much easier. Secondly, the ability to access new products within England became much easier for some. The convenience was greatly increased. Transportation was increased which Max products much more accessible. Many people began gaining more for the money they paid (Doc. 2).
