The renaissance was a time period that began in Italy, around the year 1300, then it expanded to other parts of the world. This was an era of rebirth where society began to experience new changes in art, literature, and architecture. This new concept was called humanism. People started to have a different point of view of the world and themselves, focusing on knowledge and art instead of religion and the church. Therefore setting themselves apart from it. People started to have an interest in what they could achieve with their hands and their minds (Individualism). It begs to question, however, with so many brilliant minds coming to fruition, and all having a power on society. The renaissance saw the opportunities on these different points of views and and it analyzed the relationships with each other.

These texts have been preserved up to the present day, and they can be shown as examples of people’s ideology from back then. For example, Leonardo Bruni, who was a humanist from Arezzo, in a document he wrote in the year 1486. He stated that the exploration of history, and studies like such were extremely important to find the “Enjoyment of life”. He also said that people’s obligations to explore this studies, which defines to the core a Humanist mind. An Italian humanist, named Petrarch, emphasized the aspect of nobel arts, and the importance of them on the time period.
