Purpose and Hypotheses of the Study
The purpose of the study by E.O Osakinle was to show the correlations between the parent influence on the adolescents choice of career , and that family values will have an influence on adolescents in their career choices. The adolescent will learn work habits and values from their parents but it is more likely they learn it from a Father-Son perspective other than a Mother-Daughter one. The other purpose of this study was to also show that gender has a correlation between the adolescent and the career he/she will or will not choose. It showed that the woman will base their career on family matters. The woman will either have a family then start their career or have their career set then start a family, but the woman will face that rather than the man.

Sample

The bio-data of the samples was labeled A. The adolescents had the letter B, and the parents were C. The feedback had 40 items that sought information on their career choices. The instrument had a validity coefficient of 0.76 and a co-efficient of 0.85. It was scored on a 2-point scale. Two for yes and one point for no.

This reflects largely on me because one day I will become a parent and this study has taught me me to not force your children to do something that you as a parent want. Instead let them decide. Growing up I had a father and mother who still to this day support me on everything I do in life, but when I was at a young age they kind of pushed me towards the football route and I started playing at the age of five and did not finish playing till my Senior year of high school when I broke my leg, but I think over time they realized that I was not going to become a professional athlete and now they tell me to do whatever I want but whatever you do give it your all, but it has always been encouragement to me and I try and give it my all at everything I do in life.
