Why is personal brand important and why is it important to you? How is your personal brand going to help define you or help you grow in the future?
Your personal brand is an indication of who you are, what your personality is like and who you portray yourself to be. Personal branding is important as it allows people to have an idea of who you are and determine whether they want to associate themselves with you or not. It separates me from everyone else. This is why my personal brand is important to me. You will have more confidence in yourself and know your limits so no one can take advantage of you. You will be closer to achieving your goals by having the right attitude and reputation. You will leave your mark upon others and display your specialities which attract your target audience. Whereas, if you have a bad personal brand, people will distance themselves with you and you will end up attracting the wrong type of audience. It will hard to obtain a job position in the future as employers will be sceptical about hiring you. The two brands that I have chosen are Roxy and Chanel. They are very successful and popular clothing brands but they are very different from each other. The reason I have chosen them is because I feel that the features in both brands have sometimes represented my personalities that I have used in different situations. In certain situations, I’ve had to portray myself in a classy and sophisticated manner, and at other times I let loose and have fun.
Roxy is a very funky and free brand. They sell beach wear and women’s clothing. Roxy’s brand is fun, relaxed, free-spirited and fashionable. One of the reasons Roxy is successful is because their trendy clothing being in demand by teenagers and young adults because of their cute designs and it’s not as expensive as other

In every given business, the name itself portrays different meanings. This serves as the reference point and sometimes the basis of customers on what to expect within the company. Since personality affects product image (Langmeyer & Shank, 1994), the presence of brand helps in the realization of this concept. Traditionally, brand is a symbolic manifestation of all the information connected with a company, product, or service (Nilson, 2003; Olin, 2003). A brand is typically composed of a name, logo, and other visual elements such as images, colors, and icons (Gillooley & Varley, 2001; Laforet & Saunders, 1994)). It is believed that a brand puts an impression to the consumer on what to expect to the product or service being offered (Mere, 1995). In other application, brand may be referred as trademark, which is legally appropriate term. The brand is the most powerful weapon in the market (LePla & Parker, 1999). Brand identity really allows the company to flourish, and stay a strong reputable brand. The brand personality is a mix of young and fresh, while still remembering nostalgic aspects from the brand. The company appeals to emotions. They draw up feelings of nostalgia. The brand has a way of being classic and hip at the same time. They present this personality in their choice of advertisements and product. Everyone can recall what a classic Coke bottle looks like. The glass has a hint of green with sharp curves. Brand Consciousness is awareness of a brand as a distinct product separate from others and the preference of this product over others. It is about upholding an image and perception. This consciousness can be either intrinsically driven or extrinsically driven. Intrinsically is when the consumer forms a need for a product in order to feels worthy, or to satisfy a need to be part the reputation or the lifestyle that a brand advertises.
