Still other shows, including the interview programs, borrowed from 60 Minutes' method of grilling the interviewee. Dan Rather once (in an interview with President Nixon during his downfall) riled up Nixon enough to prompt the question "Are you running for something?" And Rather shot back, "No, sir, Mr. President. Are you?" Tough reporting, taped evidence of scams, and in-depth stories of current events are essentially what brought 60 Minutes much success. The use of hidden-camera reporting, catching wrong-doers on tape, was, and still is, common practice. Today, we turn on the television and are flooded with shows featuring the same reporting techniques as 60 Minutes.

...0). Traditional newscasts are not only dumbing down and sensationalizing the news to bring more interest into their programming, but this can be detrimental to the political process. The Daily Show is uses comedy to show the ridiculousness of the political world and news media for his viewers to take politics seriously (Hariman, 2007). The Daily Show has been awarded with prestigious awards, such as two Peabody Awards, 18 Primetime Emmys, a Television Critics Association Award, and also a Grammy Award. (Feldman, 2007). It can be said, entertainment based shows can have the potential to not only educate, but entertaining as well. Today’s generation have grown up in a world where the distinction between of entertainment and news shows have been obscured, The Daily Show has proven the televisions shows can provide the public with entertaining political information.
In conclusion, reality shows are honestly the worst type of entertainment. They are cheap, fake and utterly pointless. Producers are simply using type of programming to make easy money since it does not require many funds. The way these shows provide information to the public is concerning since most of it is not thought provoking or in any way intelligent. In fact, it shows you how not to act in a public place. It provides an adverse affect on how people should be thinking. It is incredibly unhealthy for the mind to be watching those types of shows. Most Americans do not realize or understand this. There is no stopping the flow of media. Everything is becoming illiterate and translucent. Do you know what is good for your brain? When you put together a thousand piece puzzle.
When the television was first invented, everyone wanted one. The first presidential election debate on television was with Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy. Television started airing media such as shows, commercials, educational programs and the daily news. The first televised game show was called, “Truth or Consequences". A person could be entertained by being able to watch sports on the television rather than having to attend a game or having to go to the theater to see a movie. Television also helped companies advertise their products with commercials to increase their profits.
Television can be viewed as the medium between the public and candidate. It is the source that allows the public to know what is going on with the candidate and vice versa. As Frank Stanton, president of the Columbia Broadcasting System put it, “The sky is the limit.” Before television, candidates would travel the country, meeting voters and gaining supporters. But they were not always able to meet everyone, which hindered their process of achieving support for their campaign. With the invention of television, direct contact between the candidates and the public has been restored.
Almost every day a new show is being advertised to come onto television. A majority of these new shows happen to be a fairly new genre called reality shows. These shows are based on real people’s lives and relationships. The truth of these shows is revolved around their jobs and basic everyday events. There is definitely truth that is shown through these shows. They intrigue people and draw them in because they can relate to their situations in some sort of way. The truth of these shows is that they show their family drama and what they go through every day.
The internship will include orientation on the function and will focus primarily on learning and developing new skills. This will help in the deeper understanding of concept through hands on application of the knowledge learned during the internship.

The creation of television broadcasting changed the way the world interacted, making it one of the most successful and important innovation. The Entertainment industry brought Reality TV to America, changing and evolving along with the changes in society. The concept of Reality TV is to show the struggles of real people or actors without scripts, surprising, and terrifying many of its viewers. The television content has changed over the years reflecting the changes in society; the Reality Shows are becoming more obscene, controversial, and competitive.
.... Even if you are only doing general office work like copying and data entry, these skills will still be very valuable when you are looking for an entry-level position.
I have learned so much from this internship process and many things have gotten me ready for what I experience and other not as much. There have been many positives that have happened and other negative that have made me stronger as a person and stronger in my faith.

Media can present content that seems and is more or less real, however, it is our duty as the viewers to be able to distinguish, and differentiate between “reflections of reality, and constructions of reality”. The prime targets of the media are young people because they so unwittingly believe everything the media tells them, from “how to talk, how to dress, and how to relate to others”. This newspaper article, seeing is not believing by Leslie Fruman is essentially explaining that now “for the first time students will take a mandatory course to help separate fantasy from reality in the media.” The mandatory course is referred to as media literacy, and will teach young people the classifications of reality and fantasy.
