For a company to be successful ethically, it must go beyond the notion of simple legal compliance and adopt a values-based organizational culture. A corporate code of ethics can be a very valuable and integral part of a company’s culture but I believe that it is not strong enough to stand alone. Thought and care must go into constructing the code of ethics and the implementation of it. Companies need to infuse ethics and integrity throughout their corporate culture as well as into their definition of success. To be successfully ethical, companies must go beyond the notion of simple legal compliance and adopt a values-based organizational culture.
A code of ethics and a moral code is important because it sets values that hold up the standers that the certain company is expecting from their employees, or values that a person is expecting from someone else. I believe that having applied ethics as a focus in life is a major priority, applied ethics easily tells us what’s right and wrong. Everyone person goes through a phase in life when they learn the word no and yes, this is an example of applied ethics. Knowing yes this is the right choice and no I should turn away from this is very important. Applied ethics are given to every person through the process of growing up and learning right and wrong. A personal moral philosophy doesn’t have to be changed, you have been given a foundation as a young person and it is up to you on rather you would want to change it or keep the principles that you already know.
Ethical values may come in all shapes and sizes; we may grow up with a certain set of ethics and/or values that change and conform to our environment. This widely depends on where we end up later in life as in our professional career or our personal lives because different situations can affect how we interrupt ethics and social responsibility. Work may influence or provide a new set of lenses in how ethics are viewed. We are given a set of ethics to adhere to while employed. By definition, “that branch of philosophy dealing with values relating to human conduct, with respect to the rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness of the motives and

My personal code of ethics outlines the values and principles, which I believe in and rely on in life; the code determines the decisions I make concerning my daily activities and my association with family, colleagues, and the society. To provide an example of a breach of ethical conduct in the workplace, we may remember the case of a financial manager in a corporation that decided not to pay overtime to some employees. After a deep outside investigation, the company was summoned with thousands of dollars to remedy the payment that was supposed to be paid to all employees who worked more than forty hours per week. Again, it is needed more than just a booklet stating that the company adheres to the code of business ethics. It is needed serious managers that can run the company with the most seriousness as possible. Consequently, any written codes of business ethics, regardless of how well it has been crafted, need people that adhere to its internal content with a serious desire to do the right thing.

Only the work’s original author or creator can make copies, distribute, sell, perform or adapt that work. Originally passed into law 35 years ago, the Copyright Act of 1976 has undergone many changes in the wake of advancing technology, including such changes as categorizing any work on the Internet as “published” (Copyright Act of 1976).
