Confidentiality
Confidentiality means having personal information being kept as a secret.
A head teacher would make sure that any personal information is being kept as confidential. In addition, the information is only allowed if the parents of the children allow. E.g. the school was planning to take pictures of the children with their class friends or just by themselves.
Also, the school receptionist would make certain that if a child wasn 't able to come to school because of a family problem. They would keep this information as private.
On the other hand, a therapist would ensure that they help the children if they have family problems. However, they would keep this information as a secret.
Moreover, a special education needs assistant would ensure that they help the children by giving them support if they are having any worries. The children would usually be

A head teacher would make sure that the children are doing something. For instance, they might tell the teacher to do a library session on a weekly basis, so that the children will do their work at school. Under the circumstances, this would make them focus and meet deadlines.
Another way they might occupy the children is by a special education needs assistant who would discover ways to make the children learn things they are not self-confident in. For instance, they might make the children have a certain amount of sessions where they would improve their handwriting.
A teacher would occupy the students in school when they are doing physical education. For instance, how many bean bags each child could put inside a basket. This will make the children do something and be competitive at the same time.
At lunchtime the dinner supervisor assures that the children put the dinner tray they have used at lunch in a certain place and throw the left overs in the bin. This will help the children to be cleaner and do their own work.

No greater obligation is placed on school officials than to protect the children in their charge from foreseeable dangers, whether those dangers arise from the careless acts or intentional transgressions of others. Although the overarching mission of a board of education is to educate, its first imperative must be to do no harm to the children in its care. A board of education must take reasonable measures to assure that the teachers and administrators who stand as surrogate parents during the day are educating, not endangering, and protecting, not exploiting, vulnerable children (Frugis v. Bracigliano, 2003).
Privacy was once taken for granted in public education, but now through the 1974 law, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act it is pushed to the forefront of the minds of every educator in the United States (Cossler, 2010). This law has paved the way for many lawsuits regarding privacy of student’s records, which have left teachers scared, undereducated and unaware of certain regulations of the law. FERPA laws provide protections for students, but also allow access of all student records to the student’s custodial parents, which in some situations has cause problems and in some cases have specifically brought clarifications of the law. Has the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act provided the much needed privacy for students or created an overboard policies?
The school has a Confidentiality Policy, which all staff needs to be aware of, this sets out the school's aims and objectives relating confidentiality and gives guidelines on how to handle confidential information. The Data Protection Act 1998 states that
The school is to protect the students from any wrong doing towards them. Such act, parents, school official and other authorities will be contacted. The case in Oakland County MI, opens many eyes for students and parents. The school board has responsibility to report such harm. This is not taken lightly, serious offense. Students could face years in prison, or face felonies.
There are a number of problems that present in modern practice that can significantly affect or compromise confidential client information. Primarily, these types of problems are usually categorized as belonging into one of two areas of violation that provide unauthorized access to confidential information. The first area of disturbance of confidentiality occurs when the professional boundaries of the client-therapist relationship are breached, such as when practitioners partake in multiple relationships or decide to access public information about a patient online.
They can be personal aides for special education students and help assist them during the school day. The paraprofessional may follow the student to all of their classes and assist them with any tasks they need help with. Special education students have an Individualized Education Program, which states what accommodations they have and what they may need help with. Students who need more individualized attention can receive this when a paraprofessional is in the
The laws of the schools are to protect the students, faculty, and staff. Administrators must know the law so that everyone is treated equally and fair. With the state statutes, the school boards have the right to adopt and enforce rules and regulations necessary to operate and manage schools. Parents have to right to place their children in any institutions they feel their children will excel, whether that is a private or public school.(Essex, 2002, p. 6)
For a special education student to be successful and reach their true potential, it takes a collaborative effort between both the special education and general education teacher. Both teachers need to have an understanding of each student’s disability and unique academic needs. Both teachers play vital roles in participating as part of the IEP team, providing professional input, and best practices to develop the student’s IEP, which will provide all stakeholders in the child’s education the accommodations and modifications for the special needs child to be successful in the
These are the words of Jesselyn Radack, a whistleblower who promoted transparency by exposing the truth to Americans. From the birth of this country, Americans have valued transparency in the government. Still, there are instances where the government is allowed to keep secrets from the American people. There has been ongoing debate on whether the American Federal government should be allowed to keep secrets from the American people. Whistleblowers are important is this debate because of their fail-safe method of creating transparency. There are three central reasons to prevent government secrecy. First, Secrecy goes against our American values. Second, Americans should have a transparent government. Third, Secrecy can harm the government and American people. To summarize, Governmental secrecy must be stopped because it is unconstitutional and undemocratic, transparency is a necessary check of the government, and governmental secrecy can lead to corruption.
In my classroom I will make sure that the children with special needs are benefiting from instruction. I will pair this student up with someone who is capable of helping. The student will be getting my instruction as well as help from one of their peers. I will be aware that this student is a learner with special needs and I will teach this student at a level in which he/she is comfortable. I will make sure I am aware of everything that I can about this student?s special needs. I will be in a tight contact with the student and his/her parent/guardian so I can be aware that they are working with him/her at home. If this isn?t the case then I will pair this student up with another student after school, with myself, or with someone else that would be willing to give this student extra time.
One does not wish to brand or stigmatize students, or make them feel they are being singled out. Students and parents would be assured all information would be kept strictly confidential.
I have worked with many teachers in this line of work and have watched how they interact with the kids. I have worked with all kinds of kids with special needs, ranging from reading disabilities to severe mental retardation. Some of the teachers that I have worked with, I have not approved of their tactics on how they handled the kids, but you learn and you adapt. Eventually you will know what is right and what is wrong.
encourages the healthcare team to take precautions to ensure that only authorized access occurs. In spite of the precautions; there are still circumstances that challenge the scope of information subject to confidentiality.
A child with a mental or physical disability may not be able to think, work, play, and function like other children of the same age. Someone working in the special needs career will be able to assist these children to function in their everyday lives and to meet goals to encourage them to thrive. In order for someone to work with special needs children, they need to understand the factors involved in a child’s improvement, have a heart for helping others, and be properly educated and trained.
There is so much to know about special education that is separate from teaching in a traditional classroom. One thing that has really stood out to me is how many acronyms and terminology these teachers need to know. IEP, LRE, IDEA, FAPE, IFSP, and that is just to name a few (DREDF, 2017). Special education teachers, really need to be knowledgeable about a ton of things. Not only all of the terminology associated with special education, but about disabilities and the best way to go about educating a child with disabilities. When working with children in special education, there will be students of all ages with all kinds of disabilities and different ability levels that you are teaching. It is important to know about each child’s disabilities, what they should be learning and how they should be learning it. There may be times that are challenging education students with disabilities, but when a teacher properly educates themselves on all the aspects of special education and the resources out there for them, it may help make your classroom run more smoothly and easier to
