Art can mean a lot of things for example music, poems and pictures. You could all 3 examples that I used to teach students in schools. The importance of art is that art never ages. Some old paintings are really famous for the way the painter drew them or the history behind it. We also learn a lot from poems when we study them in schools. Different types of art help different students learn and make the student think different ways than usual.
The 1st importance of art is that it helps different students connect in their own ways and in different ways than usual. Different students connect what they learn in different ways and one way they can connect through is art that they have made of other famous people have made. It also helps them learn because instead of just stuffing them with facts it’s like a new way that you can look at things and be exciting

There are a lot of paintings that are really famous but there artist is dead and the paintings by far out lived the painters by a lot of years like 100s of years. Some of those paintings can show us what it was like to live back when they were alive and gives us history on what things might have looked like. One types of painting that I think is the most fascinated is what the Indians drew in caves. There have been many debates on what the pictures on the cave walls means. The paintings tell about their lives and the way that they did things the thigs they hunted and different ways that they may have believed. The pictures thought us about their culture and what different animals were sacred and animals that they hunted. Also Rome made sculptures of the gods that they believe in and that thought us about what they did for their beliefs and there old building also gave us a lot of what they did and there culture. Old art works show us what the culture was like in the times that those group of people lived
Through the use of different type of media, art is capable of represent creativity, beauty, functionality, emotions and ideas. For instance, one of the oldest art media is painting, the practice of applying paint, pigment, color, or other medium to a flat surface.
Art is a tool that can be useful when children are beginning to explore their surroundings and expand their imagination. As children grow, they develop skills that become practical to use while in school. Although art is vital in a child’s learning process, most parents aren’t aware of the benefits that come when their child is involved in art activities. It is up to the child’s parents to find a way to change and direct a path in order to help a child become successful. When children become involved in art activities, they obtain several skills that are vital for school and will be able to use for the rest of their life.
The Importance of Arts Education Jane Alexander, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), once said, “Many children are missing out on something which gives their education context, gives their lives depth and meaning, and prepares them to be the future workforce.” This “something” that she spoke of is music and art education. Unfortunately, she is entirely correct. We are currently seeing a dramatic cut in arts education curriculum in our public schools due to the limited amount of time and funding. In many cases, budget cutbacks mean arts education cutbacks.
Art can be used to raise scores in every subject, “Students who took four years of art classes scored 91 points higher on their SAT exams than those who took half a year or less. Multiple studies also confirmed that there is a correlation between art engagement and students’ other achievements.” (Valeriya Metla) Even with the research linking art and better grades some educators think that it is more worth while to only focus on the core classes because it is more important to fund what is being tested than to help raise children who are creative.
“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” - Thomas Merton. Art is a huge influence on the minds of children. It plays a big factor in the way children want to learn. Art keeps they're minds open to imagination and keeps them interested in learning new things. Kids are more interested in learning when there is some kind art involved. They have an unbelievably great memory and seeing or drawing pictures helps them retain things a lot better than they would if it was just told to them. It is used in all subjects in school because these are obvious and known facts. Art can heavily influence math, science, and literacy. Children with disabilities or have trouble concentrating can use art as an outlet. When they get mad, give them some paint and a paint brush. Taking out they're frustrations on a piece of paper rather than on themselves could result in a masterpiece and could reveal an amazing talent hidden beneath they're frustrations.
I want art to be taken seriously because it is helpful to children’s way of thinking and problem solving that can help in all subjects and way of life. Subjects from math to English have already incorporated art in their teachings by doing hands on projects that better help the students understand the material, so I think that art should do the same as well. My goal as an art teacher is to inform my students about their environment and various cultures around them, let my students explore the possibilities in art careers and show them how art can help them become better problem
middle of paper ... ... Arts classes are important and should be an essential part of our society. Being artistic and creative can help students be who they are and stand out. It can help them use their knowledge and come up with extraordinary ideas to make big changes in the world, and it can also keep students away from bad things and be better human beings by doing what they are interested in.
Art is one of the best medium of expression; it explains the core perspective of a particular person in an appreciable and interesting way. Art is a varying range of human activities which allows artists to express their technical or imaginative skill. One of the most appreciated forms of art is visual art; it enlightens thoughts and enables people to see things within a deeper purview. Visual art can serve various purposes; one of the most practical reasons for art is for expression, decoration, and for the world to see and appreciate.
Art improves our lives by directly and indirectly lift the morale of individuals, creating unity and social solidarity. Art creates awareness of social issues. Art may express and reflect the religious, political, and economical aspects of cultures. Art is and can be what ever a culture says it is or what ever they want it to be. It involves all people, those who conceive the idea of the work, execute it, provide necessary equipment and materials, and people who make up the audience for the work. Art forms as diverse as architecture, body decoration, clothing manufacture, and memorial sculptures reflect social status. Art echoes the natural world. It gives order to the world and intensity to human life. Art is a means of communion as well as communication. It provides pleasurable experiences along with cerebral wealth. Art also helps us to express our sentimental relations. It can beautify, surprise, inspire, stimulate imagination, inform, tell stories, and record history. As someone once said, “Art is life.”
Artists are people who use different ways of outward expression to illustrate who they are as people. They put themselves into their work, even without meaning to do so. There are many reasons why people take to art and there are also many ways for one to become an artist. The culture of art in societies around the world has helped bring people closer and allows people to communicate without words, but instead with their creations. Artists have produced art throughout all periods of time and that has given us a large variety of different kinds. Artists have impacted the way we live, the way we see things, and they have helped us to understand the art of expression.
Art is to communicate ideas, such as in politically, spiritually, or philosophically, and create a sense of beauty to explore the nature of perception and generate strong emotions. Through literature, music, and other artifacts, artists are able to emotionally connect their work to their audience. When the audience sees a piece of art, they are both emotionally and mentally affected. Art should not be defined merely as a product of skill and creativity for we lose the true purpose of the word, which is to symbolic represent and share one’s senses, emotion, and intelligence.
What is art? Art is that which is pleasing to the senses or of more than significant importance (Cothren & Stokstad, 2011, p. xxvii). It is also said that art is an opinion (South University Online, 2014). Anybody can have their own opinion of a piece of art, but very few people can actually judge art. Of course, everyone still has their own opinion. A mother will see her one-year-olds painting and see a work of art. A true work of art invokes a need to understand what the artist was saying or feeling at that specific time. Art captures time and the human experience (South University Online, 2014). It could be a wedding portrait that brings tears to a wife's eyes, or it could be the red blanket in a bedroom (South University Online, 2014). Art is a perception of beauty of form and color and location. The definition of art is as follows: "the quality, production, expression , or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance" (Dictionary.com, 2014). Art evokes emotion, it can be uplifting or depressing. Man has always had a need to express himself, to say what he cannot speak.
Issues concerning that of art are always started by the uprising of the viewer. Artists have been making art for thousands of years, inspiring the rest of the world, but in most recent terms of art, there have been multiple instances of art viewers trying to restrict what the artists can make. For too long artists have been to blame. Whenever an art piece is considered bad, it is about the viewers subjective experience. Who is to really decide whether a work of art is good or bad? It sure as hell isn 't just one persons’ decision, so is it a group of people, with an outweighing majority of what they believe in? I don 't believe it is either of these, for the reason of no one has the right to say whether or not the work is good or bad but the
..., they improve social skills as well as one’s social image, and they improve one’s psychological health (Why Art Matters, 1). The arts also increase one’s perception and appreciation for life and the things in it (Why Art Matters, 1). Art is all around us everywhere we go and everywhere we look. It helps us understand where we are, where we are going, and how we get there. The preservation of history greatly relies on art to hold images, sounds, writing, and all sorts of other stuff form the past, so I guess you could say that recorded history is art (Social Impact of Art, 8). It helps get rid of multiracial and multicultural boundaries creating connections between people from all around the globe (How Art Impacts Society, 6). The arts, as well as the artist, are very important in today’s society and needs to be appreciated for what it is and what it’s done for us.
Throughout the ages art has played a crucial role in life. Art is universal and because art is everywhere, we experience it on a daily basis. From the houses we live in (architecture) to the movies we see (theatre) to the books that we read (literature). Even in ancient culture art has played a crucial role. In prehistoric times cave dwellers drew on the wall of caves to record history. In biblical times paintings recorded the life and death of Christ. Throughout time art has recorded history. Most art is created for a specific reason or purpose, it has a way of expressing ideas and beliefs, and it can record the experiences of all people.
