We’ve all seen the Internet and TV go wild when America’s candidate Donald Trump spoke. He promises a great wall to be built between the US and Mexico, due to the fact that millions of immigrants have fled illegally to the US through the border. In 2004, 1.3 million people were caught trying to enter the US illegally. Even though modern technologies were used the authorities still finds it difficult to find the remote areas that people use to cross the border illegally. This will affect the sentiments attached relating to the border by Mexicans but the US will still have to find an efficient way to fix this through different actions. Hence, I believe that the immigrants are posing a threat to the States. The article uses a structure …show more content…
that helped translate different argument points into solid issues to be looked for. The author aims to reach to the public and government administrators and doesn't limit his article to anyone. Ideas were most supported by statistical numbers that showed how big the problem is.
He observes that due to many illegal immigrants America’s middle class is suffering because of them, this showed good evidence so the audiences can relate. Furthermore, the author adds to his argument by including previous actions and suggestions of political leaders to reduce the number of illegal immigrants. This illustrates that this is an ongoing issue to the government. More to add, the author uses numbers, which helps send the big picture for the audience. In the first stanza itself, the author starts off with statistical numbers of the problem which made it clear and not hard to find. He says, “More than 1.3 million people were caught trying to enter the Unites States illegally from Mexico in 2004”. The author has tried to emphasise on his point by giving statistics as in the first stanza itself he says that more than 1.3 million people were caught while they tried to enter the States illegally. He further says that in spite of the Border patrolling becoming more sophisticated, the number of illegal immigrants had not been reduced considerably. Although, the no. Of peasants along the southern border had approximately been increased 5.5 times. The …show more content…
author tries to explain how due to many illegal immigrants, many American citizens lose their jobs. This shows how important this is to the American society, as it affects its economy. In terms of surveys and questionnaires, the author says that nearly half of the Mexicans agreed on coming to the States if provided an opportunity, while 21 percent still said that they would enter the state at any cost , even if illegally. As regards surveys the author cites points about the 2002 survey in which most of the Mexicans that is about 58 per cent believed that the Southern territory of the United States rightfully belonged to them and hence their right over the said region should be considered for.
So, we can say that the information and facts provided by the author is presented in a more or less logical way. But since he has accumulated statistics along with the ongoing discussions, he could not maintain a chronological order which otherwise would have provided a more influencing and persuasive view point. Overall structure doesn't help the main claim the most by not providing appropriate transitions that could have made a flawless article. The article ends with a call of action which summarized the author’s argument. All in all, the author makes solid points regarding this ongoing problem and shows that no one is taking any direct actions toward fixing it. All this was shown through article components such as structure, evidence, language and main claim and cited in the form of statistics, interviews, personal observations and surveys. Whatever might be the overall analysis, one point that stands out it, through his article, the author has been able
to reach out to the readers and explain to them his cause behind the article. In spite of the fact that the author does not have a set and specific structure designed for the cause, the fact remains that all facts scattered here and there do accumulate giving the overall article and the readers a persuasive end result in the sense that the readers at the end actually agree to his argument and are in his favour. At the end, one is able to figure out why exactly the article was written and with what specific purpose. Also, the most impressive point is that the author has in many ways been able to convince the readers to accept his argument.

Tod Miller opens up hisbook by CBP’s involvement in Super Bowl security. This involvement reveals the consequences of hyper-security not only aimed at the order, but also in football fields and local community. The author reveals out the huge budgets spent on the border agency. From the chapter 1,2 and 8, he reports that since 2/11, the US government has spent around $791
Nicholas Carr has many strong points in his article. He successfully proves that what he has to say is worthy of his readers time, and that maybe we should all take caution to how much time we spend on the
Early statistic provide from scholar article has proved that since the 1970s to 80s, Census by state has documented a high population of undocumented immigrants in the United States. Passel and Woodrow indicate that the estimation of undocumented immigrants is 2.06 millions in 1980s; most of the undocumented immigrants are Mexicans. By the year 2000, more than 1.6 million captures were along the U.S border. In southern California, “with almost 2.5 million unauthorized immigrants residing in the state, California is home to almost one fourth of the nations unauthorized” (Gonzales 473). This group can split into two major types, which are people who enter U.S illegally and people who enter through admission with their overstay visa.

The United States of America, being a country founded by immigrants, is known all over the world as the land of great opportunities. People from all walks of life travelled across the globe, taking a chance to find a better life for them and their family. Over the years, the population of immigrants has grown immensely, resulting in the currently controversial issue of illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants are the people who have overstayed the time granted on their US, visa or those who have broken the federal law by crossing the border illegally. Matt O’Brien stated in his article “The government thinks that 10.8 million illegal immigrants lived in the country in January 2009, down from a peak of nearly 12 million in 2007.”(Para, 2).
On November 12, 2015 Donald Trump gave a speech in Fort Dodge at a community college. In this speech he talks about borders in the United States and how we have such relaxed borders compared to any other country, where you get fined a lot of money, prison time or even killed for crossing their borders illegally. While, in America you get a job, healthcare, and education, Trump believes that 's why we are in debt. Illegal immigrants, also can have babies in America and they automatically become legal citizens and Donald Trump call them "anchor babies".
Illegal immigration was an issue in the past and is a pressing problem in the present. The U.S. Government has been trying to find a resolution to this issue for years. The United States approved the Immigration Reform and Control Act in 1986, which allowed the American Government to punish American companies that consciously employed illegal immigrants (Nadadur 1037-1052). The United States’ Government Immigration Reform and Control Act has been unsuccessful in controlling illegal immigration. It is estimated that illegal immigration into the U.S. has a yearly interval of three hundred fifty thousand people (Rousmaniere 24-25). It is apparent that the 1986 act was not able to keep a handle on illegal immigration. Illegal immigration continues due to the fact that immigrants only take the jobs available to them, which in turn helps support the United States’ economy, so measures should not be taken to halt immigration.
another country were coming into the United States of America not only to take away their jobs,
That alone provides a great source of credibility to the paper. The idea that this is an author who has done the research, gathered the numbers, and analyzed the data, allows the reader to rest in the idea that they are reading a valid article, and receiving good, hard, evidence. Twenge also uses a very logical tone throughout her article, maintaining the idea that the data is as clear as day, and that there is no disproving it; the numbers show true facts.
