The American actress, Broadway star, voice actress, singer and songwriter, Idina Menzel, is known for a great number of impressive activities. However, you might recognize her for her role in Glee, where the actress plays Shelby Corcoran, the head coach of New Direction’s rival show choir, Vocal Adrenaline. After leaving Glee, what’s next for Idina Menzel? Shelby is a returning member of the Glee cast, appearing in all five seasons. While the Tony Award-winning actress entered the series as an arch-nemesis, it is slowly revealed how intertwined she is with the New Direction crew’s lives. Not only is Shelby the biological mother of Rachel, she is also the adoptive mother of Puck and Quinn’s daughter, Beth. Unfortunately for Gleeks, Idina was released from the fifth season after her character, Shelby, retired from show choir. When Glee returned this January, Mr. Schue has taken over Vocal Adrenaline, and the original New Direction cast has returned for an emotion-filled premiere. It seems everyone is running into problems in their adult lives, and they’re sorely in need of a little musical therapy.
