Knowing what makes up your identity, both physically and emotionally, as well as how much control you have over it, is important to finding your true meaning of life. By distinguishing who you are and what you want to become, you are able to figure out what you can change in order to become happier with who you are. Since the environment you are born in and the one’s you decide to choose weigh so heavily on your entire identity, it is important to find one at which you feel most at home and not a part of the shadows.
There’s no point in going through life as a shadow, going through the motions of everyday life without ever doing something that makes you feel fulfilled. I look back at my past and I see nothing but an empty soul that is lost.

To love someone or something is to care and place it as a priority in your life as something you value. To treasure it as something that is important in your heart to act upon. Having the ability to love is not just about your friends and family, but also random strangers, yourself, and life as a whole. Having friends and family you can always count on is highly important because they are your backbone. They are what keep you going until the day you die. When it comes to total strangers you can feel disconnected from them, but that does not mean you have to withdraw your love. They are still people who walk this earth with you and are on the same journey as you when it comes to finding what it means to live an exemplary life to them. Sharing your love for them can help them get closer to their goal of an exemplary life, even if what you do is small. It could be something as simple as holding a door open or helping them move into their new apartment next door. Love comes in all different levels and when you show kindness to others, it illuminates a feeling for others to absorb. The feeling can make their day without you even knowing it. Furthermore, you have to learn to love yourself. This can be done by finding a passion you whole-heartedly love. Having a passion, you truly love, helps keeps your mind at ease and in a healthy state. Without loving oneself, a person may feel as if they are disconnected from the world. Loving life can be difficult, but it is not an impossible feeling to
The search for one’s true identity is a difficult journey. One must track their ancestors, research their heritage, and correctly synthesize all of their gathered information into that specific identity. This journey is especially hard for African Americans whose ancestors were stolen from their native land. They have a desire to reconnect with their origins; however, their search is often hindered due to the fact that their ancestors were stolen. In an attempt to reconnect with this lost heritage, many African Americans in the 1960s and 1970s participated in the Black Nationalist Movement where they were able to claim a general African identity. This search for identity is shown in “Everyday Use” by Alice Walker. Through her text, Walker highlights two perspectives on true African American identity: those who understood and accepted their identity as an African American and those who desired to know their African ancestry. This idea is supported through various sources including scholarly journals, critical articles, and educational Internet web pages. In Alice Walker’s short story, “Everyday Use”, Walker uses characterization, themes, and symbolism to show that the differing perspectives for true African American identity caused a disconnection in African American heritage during the 1960s and 1970s.
At birth everyone is given a set of identities but as they grow up and find their place in the world with people they love those identities will change. I believe that changing identities throughout life will help a person develop into a better person. If a person has identified as multiple different things in his or her past then he or she will be more willing to accept and appreciate those who are different. I grew up being taught to always treat others the way I wanted to be treated and at times that can be hard, but I have always strived to be a kind and caring person.
The view of identity seems to be defined by facial features and social constructed views. Depending on the recent look of someone it may just be more then just color but also background. In this essay I will explain how I relate to some recent views based on philosophers I may agree and disagree with in order to describe my identity. Identity is much more then just being labeled as a race, it can be based on much more.
A person 's beginnings do not completely define a person, but it does serve as a permanent foundation from which their identity is built around. As children, we absorb every sight and experience like porous sponges. Family, religion, environment, culture -- all of these aspects slowly form the background of one 's identity. As an Asian American, this identity is very different from that of a native Chinese woman 's, for I have parts of both cultures within me. It is a unique identity which I believes acts as a double edged sword. Being born into two cultures is a wonderful in that one can be a part of two cultures, but it is also a very confusing to be "divided" between two very different cultures.
What it would mean to live a meaningful life is to do all the type of actions and events you always wanted to do, but you couldn’t get to because of limitations. Living a meaningful would also depend on a person’s happiness as well, for instance asking yourself what a meaningful life is to you. It should also depend on how the person should be cautious of the choices they made, or should it be based on if you enjoy it. But You should feel comfortable doing anything you enjoy doing, which would mean the type of events that bring you meaning.
Zora Neal Hurston’s book, Their Eyes Were Watching God, reveals one of life’s most relevant purposes that stretches across cultures and relates to every aspect of enlightenment. The novel examines the life of the strong-willed Janie Crawford, as she goes down the path of self-discovery by way of her past relationships. Ideas regarding the path of liberation date all the way back to the teachings of Siddhartha. Yet, its concept is still recycled in the twenty-first century, as it inspires all humanity to look beyond the “horizon,” as Janie explains. Self-identification, or self-fulfillment, is a theme that persists throughout the book, remaining a quest for Janie Crawford to discover, from the time she begins to tell the story to her best friend, Pheoby Watson. Hurston makes a point at the beginning of the novel to separate the male and female identities from one another. This is important for the reader to note. The theme for identity, as it relates to Janie, carefully unfolds as the story goes on to expand the depths of the female interior.
To love is to respect, honor, cherish and celebrate ourselves and those we love. Love is a practice. Love is to be compassionate and kind towards the self and the others’. With loving oneself we free ourselves to share and accept love. I wish you love
Love is having compassion for others, sharing feelings and your life with another person, as well as, having faith in others and forgiving those we love for the any errs that they may make. Most of all, we must be committed to those we love. Of course, this is only my opinion. No matter how long I try to explain what love is ultimately it is up to you, the reader, to define what love is to you. So let me leave you now with the words of the great Humanist Erich Fromm, "Can anything be learned about the art of love, except by practicing it?"
As the insurance industry is becoming highly competitive, we should develop and promote a new innovative insurance product – Universal life (UL). Universal life insurance is a permanent life insurance plan with the benefits of tax-advantaged investing. UL allows policy owners the flexibility to customize the coverage and premiums based on their financial planning needs. I believe UL has a great potential in attracting individuals who: need life insurance want to actively manage their life insurance policy are concerned about wealth accumulation seek a tax-efficient way to protect their assets Unlike term insurance which provides temporary protection, UL aims to protect policy owners for life with a tax-deferred investment component. With universal life insurance, regular monthly deposits are made into the investment accounts chosen by the policy owner.
One of my favorite tv show character, Rachel Green, said once, “It’s like all my life everybody has told me, ‘You’re a shoe! You’re a shoe! You’re a shoe!’ and then today I just stopped and I said, ‘But what if I don’t want to be a shoe? What if I want to be a purse, you know? Or a hat?’”. I did not add this quote in just to make this longer, but because when I thought of some of my identities, I realized that some of them weren’t me. Some of the things I “identified” with, I didn’t identify with. Like for example, my religion.
A person can be physically identifiable based on the matter they are composed of but their Personal Identity is far more than that. Despite any changes such as mentality and physical change, referred to as qualitatively changes, a person remains who they are. The philosophical question is, What it is to have a personal Identity? There are different theories discussing what is necessary and sufficient to define an individual's personal identity. So is there any theory that has truly capture the essence of what it is like to have a personal identity?
As I begin to examine myself, it is evident that my self-identity, which includes my personal identity, spiritual identity, regional identity, and gender identity, as well as worldviews and values are almost entirely made up of the efforts of my family, my friends, and from my experience of growing up in America as a person of African descent. In addition, the African American culture that has influenced myself as well as those who are closest to me has partly done so by establishing a culturally preferred communication style that varies based on age and relationship. In order to begin to understand Intercultural as well as International communications, it is imperative that I first evaluate and understand my own cultural and personal values, views, and communication styles. With this understanding, I will be able to open myself up to understanding, learning, and accepting others ways of life.
What makes a meaningful life? It varies for each person as we are all very unique and different from one another. Even the definition of what is meaningful will vary as it may be making an imprint/significance in their lifetime or a happy life is enough to be meaningful. Though there is so much variation among the definition, there are some essentials that could relate across the board. The recipe to having a meaningful life may contain the ingredients of: happiness, fulfillment, authenticity, living more fully in the present and having a sense of purpose.
I have always been to asking myself what is meaning of life? or what I supposed to do ? or what I have to achieve? . Meaning of life what 's you have been given? what you have given by different kind of human? Or what I believe or what I do not believe in life .Everybody have Meaning of life it depends between person to person, I found myself when I was young because my parents always talk about experience in their life.Throughout my entire life ,I have wondered about the significance meaning of life that has beneficial for the people, because the life is beginning odds and ending odds .Even though struggle of life, I believe meaning of life are ,regional ,ambition, participate ,achievement ,and happiness .Due to this, I
What is love? Love is a very special and meaningful word to each human being. Each human being has his/her own thoughts about love to guide himself/herself to land safely and smoothly into the kingdom of Love. Without this preconceived idea of love, people would be acting like a blind person searching for the light with thousand of obstacles in front of him.
