Everybody learns differently; many people thrive off of learning based on vision whereas others thrive off of hearing. This concept can be applied when developing an ideal study environment. For example, many people are able to focus well in noisy environments where others can only focus in udder silence. Thus a person must create their own ideal space to study, whether it may be in a dorm listening to music, their room at home, or a specific place in the library. These simple ideas can help anybody increase their productivity when it comes to studying. Personally, my level of focus depends solely on what I 'm studying. If I 'm trying to get math homework done, I do my best work in my apartment with music playing in the background or even a …show more content…
When I go to the library I tend to go alongside friends, making the trip counterproductive to begin with. After completely eliminating the library from my arsenal, it comes down to the space I have in my room at my apartment. Making the perfect study space in my room isn 't a completely unobtainable goal. The way my room is set up now, there are plenty of things that are distracting. First off, my Xbox is in my room. It is actually less than three feet from where I do my homework, making it absolutely no problem to stop what I am working on and “take a quick break” that spirals into a big heap of procrastination. Second comes my Apple TV. The Apple TV is bittersweet solely because it can be beneficial when it comes to certain areas of homework but at the same time it can become a distraction when “I 'll just watch this scene” turns into an entire episode. Third is the setup of my room as a whole; the space where I do homework and study has easy access to electronics and other things that easily catch attention. Finally, the noise level coming from outside my room is a problem because my workspace directly backs up to a wall connecting to the living room. Being backed up to the living room isn 't an issue when the apartment is quiet but any time my roommate is partaking in anything more fun than schoolwork I feel inclined to join whether …show more content…
To begin with, I will replace my bedside bookshelf with the table I use for studying. The bookshelf currently backs up to the wall closest to my roommate’s bedroom, thus not completely eliminating the noise from the living room but moving me further from it. Since I live in an apartment complex and value my security deposit, I can 't exactly take large steps to completely soundproof my room so I 'll take what I can get. Moving my workspace to the other side of the room also puts my back to the area containing my TV, making it more difficult to “just watch this scene.” I 'd make the access of my Xbox very inconvenient by relocating it to the living room. This is not only beneficial to me but beneficial toward entertaining guests. As far as the use of my Apple TV, I would leave it there since it is beneficial to me when doing certain types of homework though I will put the remote in a location away from where I am working when I am doing anything where background noise is more harmful than helpful. Regarding organization, I plan on using the same tactic but to put things in chronological order as opposed to a random sequence. As far as lighting, I have multiple small lamps along with a coinciding number power strips collecting dust from my days in boarding school. In order to increase
At the start of the semester, my oblivious state of nature associating with the Chinese culture reached an unacceptable level. Implementing a necessary change, I decided to educate myself on different cultures starting with China. I failed to ponder that such a rich, deep culture existed outside America. Encompassed by this country’s unique yet suffocating melting pot culture, my outlook believed ideas such as uniformity between American Chinese food and Authentic Chinese food. After this course, my bigot perspective widened as I witnessed diversity in the world. Before this class, when I thought of Chinese food, my connotation jumped to thoughts associated with chop suey, but as I progressed my education, my mindset gradually pondered foods like steamed buns or “New Year Cakes” with authentic Chinese food.
on my work enough. Even when I try my hardest to concentrate, my mind seems to
The event that I attended for the interpreter observation requirement was an event that occurred in the classroom and took place in order to provide interpretation for a guest speaker, Richard McGann, who was Deaf and blind. The event was held at the University of Pittsburgh during the Intro to Interpreting American Sign Language-English class taught by Jessica Adams on Tuesday, November 10th at 5:30PM and the interpreted lecture took place in a typical classroom located on the third floor of the Cathedral of Learning. The classroom used for the guest lecture was the same room that the class meets at regularly, so there had been no special modifications made in order to accommodate the

Have a place separate and quiet to concentrate and study, visit libraries, research on the internet and writing are some of the study habits that prepare the young to perform well in college. Much has to do with their parents, to motivate them to develop these habits.
There is a bulletin board on which the teachers have displayed all students written work. Displaying students work on a bulletin board sends message that the teachers value student’s work. Displaying student’s work encourages students to learn. It tells them that its ok to be messy and that the mistakes are part of learning. Along on the bulletin board, students’ names are displayed on the classroom door and on other work is displayed on the classroom’ closet doors.
I love hanging out with my friends and doing stupid college shenanigans, but at the end of the day, my room is my safe place. It allows me to escape my crazy, loud roommates (whom I love), and have alone time to take a moment and relax. But my room also allows me to challenge my creativity by becoming my own personal canvas to help me express my style and
In the classroom I am observing in I have watched how the teacher and the students start and end their day by following different procedures for ex: attendance, portfolios, grades, and class rituals like morning meeting, transitions and end of the day procedures. All of these procedures and rituals contribute to the classroom culture and are parts of instructional practices. So when the students come first in, in the morning they have morning circle where they do attendance, weather, lunch choices, how I feel today chart and much more. Each student has a job during morning circle which rotates every day so not every student has the same job. So attendance is kept and done at morning meeting everyday which is important for the teacher to keep
Could a hybrid learning environment work for you? While the number of online degree programs has increased greatly, such programs may not work for every student. While a lot of money can be saved through an online program when compared to obtaining a degree through the traditional route, some students benefit from having at least some traditional learning through interaction in a classroom. That is why a hyrbid learning environment works for some so well, as it combines traditional and online educational learning models.
"The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught, as every child should be instilled with the wish to learn."
During the first day of school, a variety of different students enter the classroom. These students are excited and nervous, they have their parents by their sides who are observing the classroom walls and arrangement. From the minute the students enter the classroom, students are observing the classroom environment and notice the everything. Everything in the classroom needs to have a purpose, but provide a pleasant environment. When preparing and organizing the classrooms, teachers need to consider the different variables that impact the classroom. Classrooms can be disorganized if the walls are cluttered and have no meaning The organizations of the desks, the wall decorations, and the seating arrangements significantly impact the physical environments. Students are like sponges, they soak up everything that surrounds them. In the article A comparison of actual and preferred classroom environments as perceived by middle school students in the Journal of School Health stated “studies have shown that classroom environments are closely related to a number of aspects of student

If I owned my own school, it would reflect on all the positive features that my elementary and secondary schools offered me. Education opens minds that were closed, but now they are open because of the experiences the student had. Schooling gives you the materials you need to help in the work world and teaches you how to be a powerful member of society. Education is important because you are able to connect with teachers who become close to you. Community is just one aspect of a school that makes it powerful. Teachers are another aspect that can make the school significant. Instilment of positive values is final aspect of school that can make it influential too. My ideal school contains the aspects of what I have come from. All of these ideals
When you step back and look at the big picture of life, you will notice that the concept of learning plays an essential role in it. What you learn and how you learn is your key to life success and it can open a multitude of doors for you along the way. Learning, however, is routine and much like other activities that are routine such as brushing your teeth or eating meals, you begin to think less and less about what you are doing or how you have been doing it. I never actually put too much thought into how I learned or the origins of my learning experience, but after reflecting on the ideas I have been able to clearly identify the manners in which I have learned and how I can transform my learning experience
