Ideal Managers and Leaders
The idealistic leader and manager is our Heavenly Father. Today, people lose the willingness to understand and apply biblical references to their daily activities. The Holy Bible teaches us to implore the works of God and seek refuge in Christ. By seeking knowledge form the Holy Bible, we learn how to think, act and talk in a virtuous manner. It is essential to know God and what lifestyles we need to choose and adapt to while on Earth.
There are numerous examples of effective leaders, but a perfect manager or leader does not exist on Earth. According to Bateman and Snell (2009), “Management is a challenge requiring constant adaptation to new circumstances” (p.6). The readings from Matthew 25:14-26, teaches us that regardless of the type of supervision we have, it is our duty as public servants to treat every opportunity as a way to demonstrate our acquired skills and reap honest rewards. Validating our beliefs and construing those beliefs into our work and daily activities can mold us into Top Level Managers.
Top Level Managers serve as the overall management and effectiveness of the organization (Bateman & Snell, 2009). Understanding the individual roles in a company can be very demanding, but knowing each employee’s values, assumptions, beliefs, and expectations (VABEs) can benefit the company. VABEs help the manager understand what motivates a specific employee to do their very best or what harms their ability to perform efficiently. When managers know their employees’ VABEs, they can position employees in the right positions and departments. When employees are placed in the correct departments and given the right responsibilities, there are better outcomes along the lines of quality and quantity....

... where and how He sees fit and will move us when we are holding ourselves back form prospering. Although, there are numerous leaders and managers to follow; we must first seek God and allow Him to work miracles in our lives to make us the top, middle or frontline managers. Good managers make good leaders, and good followers are the foundation to both. Learning to survive and thrive and to make the right decisions when faced with the laws and regulations of our companies mold us into the proficient and reliant managers. For Colossians 3:17 states, “And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving Thanks through him to God the Father” (Colossians 3:17, NLT).

Nibley said that as Jesus Christ taught, it was necessary to have both elements balanced in the life of one. The evidence was exposed on “Lord tells the same men that they do not really take the temple seriously while the business contracts registered in the temple they take very seriously indeed” (Nibley, 1984). According to the last reference, a leader needed from great managerial skills, but not to let these abilities gobble up his objectives and his leadership. Furthermore, an evidence for the audience about a duality of both qualities was Brigham Young. Perhaps, Brigham was really skillful in the management of societies, but was humble to recognize his small wisdom compared to God and other men of

Many work environments today are very fast-paced and hectic. Managers and decision makers can be harsh and over-bearing when it comes to approaching deadlines and completing tasks. This type of setting can produce a resentful mentality in that of the workers, making them resent fulfilling the commands of their leaders. Nonetheless, God wants you to act as if you are primarily serving the Him, not just your manager. God wants his people to see Him as the ultimate Boss. In the Letter of Paul to the Colossians Paul says, “Slaves, give entire obedience to your earthly masters, not merely with an outward show of service, to curry favour with men, but with single-mindedness, out of reverence for ...
Although written for church leadership, everyday church members would also benefit from understanding the concepts that Dawn is directing at God-empowered leaders. Ms. Dawn's work is predominantly scholarly, and she cites several other works at great length.... ... middle of paper ... ...
In 2006, Gary Bredfeldt published Great Leader, Great Teacher: Recovering the Biblical Vision for Leadership, a book concerning church leadership. Essentially, the thesis of his book was that church leaders should practice leadership according the Bible and, therefore, the fundamental quality of biblical leadership is the proper teaching of Scripture (15). Bredfeldt presented the reasoning behind the significance of teaching, the importance of prioritizing teaching, and recognizing the need for relevant, biblical, sound teaching. The importance discussed how teachers are significant as leaders since they possess power and influence. By providing biblical examples, such as Ezra, Moses, and Jesus, Bredfeldt argued that leaders need to adjust
Deuteronomy 17: 18-20 (NIV Student Bible) reminded me that no one should be above the law and we are all under His view. Much in the same way a leader should lead by actions and adhere to the same rules as all on others in the organization. Hebrews 4:11 (NIV Student Bible) reiterated that all should follow the rules, of the Lord (and also organizations). Proverbs 24:30 (NIV Student Bible) instills that we must all keeping working, be diligent in our quest for our own successes. In the grand scheme of things, we all work for the Lord serving Him in some way or another during our daily lives at home and in the office. We must learn from the mistakes he wants us to make, work hard for our goals, and treat others the way we would like to be treated
Jim Collins’s book, “Good-To-Great”, is about how to structure and manage a good organization into one that produces sustained lasting and profitable results. (Collins: pg. 14) This paper focuses on the concepts from Collins text that any church leader can acquire and apply to a local church context. There are six key concepts processed through three broad stares: disciplined people, disciplined thought, and disciplined action. Although this book references businesses, its concepts may also apply to churches. The concepts is Level 5 are, The leadership, first who-then what, confronts the Brutal Facts (Yet Never Lose Faith), the hedgehog concept, a culture of discipline, technology accelerators, the flywheel and the doom loop, and from
Philosophy of Ministry: God's desires come first, I must always live my ministry God's way. I must live as a Christian (1 Corinthians 9:27) I must have a proper relationship of surrender to the Leader. In my personal life or in the Church I must understand that Christ is Head and Chief Shepherd (Ephesians 1:22, Hebrews 13:20). The “management” of Church is about relationships with God and Man, not just maintaining a social organization.

Similarly, Churches, Cultures and Leadership by Branson and Martinez, had some wonderful gems of wisdom around leadership and church formation. “While there are numerous personal and societal forces that work against God’s initiatives, we believe that the primary call on churches, as we worship and study and serve and witness, is to live into that call as “sign, foretaste, and instrument” of God’s reconciling love”. (Branson/Martinez 61)
According to Pohlman (1995), the purpose of Value Driven Management is for employees to consider the implications, positive and negative if any, of how certain proposed actions or decisions will affect the respective organization over time. VDM was designed as a more encompassing approach to building a successful organization. In this context, employees consist of all leadership, management, and staff because they all share those same responsibilities in a broad manner (Pohlman, 1995). Pohlman opines that “Rather than being unidimensional as many other theories have been, Value Driven Management takes into account what drives action of all relevant groups and how this impacts the value of the organization over time” (1995).... ...
God is the focal point for spiritual gifts, talents, and training for leadership. The disciples were trained by Jesus. He did not take disciples into a classroom but He taught by examples.9 Many times the disciples were put in situations by Jesus to help them learn on-the-job. Even in missions, leaders cannot be prepared for every circumstance that may arise; however; with his talents, spiritual gifts, and the Holy Spirit, one can have the resources necessary to be successful. With one’s failures, spiritual gifts, and talents, the Holy Spirit will use these things to train leaders as they continue to aspire in
Furthermore, this principle underscores the ability of the leader’s power to engage employees, as opposed to leading through the authority of the leader. Moreover, organizational objectives are achieved when leaders build connections with all stakeholders as they serve, motivate and inspire when nurturing service and values among the workforce. When “Servant Leadership” is authentic, the tangible outcomes are prevalent as the creative, innovative potential of the follower’s increases, resulting in maximized productivity, performance and loyalty (Leadership & Organization Development Journal, 2017). The most significant act of “Servant Leadership” is demonstrated in Mark 10:45 “For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (ESV) and it’s this verse that underscores servant leadership in” Philippians 2:4 that states “Let each of you look not only to his own interest, but also for the interest of others”
When we think of a manager, what kind of personality comes to our mind? Do we see a person who is like Steve Jobs, able to determine the future prosperity of a large for-profit company? Or we see an administrator of non-profit organisation? (Bailey & Ford, 2006, 7-12) Behind every successful organisation there is a dedication of a great manager. In every big organisation there is a hierarchy of management that keeps the whole operation running smoothly without hurdles. To become a role model or a leader, it is the manager’s duty to allocate and use all the resources of the organisation in the best possible way.
Leadership is an awesome responsibility, and regardless of where leadership occurs, followers want leadership that is trustworthy, inspiring, consequential, and most importantly, effective. Thus, effective leadership is often weighed in theory and common indicators such as the impact on a team or process, follower attitudes and perceptions, and even career longevity (Yukl, 2010). Furthermore, leadership effectiveness may also be determined by the leader’s title, position, skills, traits, and moral behaviors (Carolina College of Biblical Studies [CCBS], n.d.). Often overlooked in all these things are God’s purpose for leadership, and the call for the leader to remain obedient to God while leading (CCBS, n.d.). Since mankind is sinful by
