I wish to study Events Management at university as I am studying HNC Events at college and have learned how complex and intricate this subject is through the units I have studied and the practical work I have completed. I have also discovered the incredible sense of achievement you obtain when an event is a success. It is for these reasons that I endeavour to take my studies to the next stage, allowing me to expand on the skills and knowledge I have gained from college. I hope to study Events Management at university as I have researched the course and consider the modules to be exciting and a good progression from the units I am currently studying. After school I spent time in Paris working as an Au-Pair, and I found this experience to be beneficial to me as it gave me a taste of living away from home. Whilst I was in Paris I improved my French and was submerged into a different culture, and I think this has given me a good initiative and has also made me more mature as a person. This in turn has given me life skills which have enabled me to be a more confident, responsible and self...
I would like to attend The University of Tennessee, Knoxville because I have heard that it is a great school, I think that Tennessee is a gorgeous place, and because UT has phenomenal school spirit.
Over this course of this semester, I have learned a tremendous amount of information about myself from the self-exploration series. The results of my PGI (Personal Globe Inventory) presented me with a couple of different career paths to explore. The first type of career that was brought up to my attention was an enterprising career. There were a number of enterprising careers, but the one that interested me the most was business management. I decided to choose the business management because I am majoring in Sustainability and my focus is in Economics. I think business management would be an excellent fit for myself because I have actually done some research prior to this class about management. I would like to someday own an ice rink, and I think that becoming a manager would be a great stepping-stone towards reaching my goal. The requirements for becoming a business manager vary from university to university, but the overall direction of the major revo...
As an SAEM major, attending live events in sports, arts, or entertainment, your mindset becomes more in tune with the process of how the event is run. Whether it's the productions crew, ushers, coach, or main act, you become more aware of the tasks each individual has in running the show/event. As many average spectators are in attendance for the main event, we know there is much more behind it with many crucial jobs to make the event a success.
The first of the two careers to be analysed is an event manager, sometimes also called event organisers or event planners. Prospects UK (2012) describes event managers as being the ones responsible for event production from its conception, right through to its completion. This can include the initial planning and organisation of the event, the development of a management plan to assist in the preparation (Gascoyne Development Commission, n.d.), and the coordination of all aspects of the event on the day its being held (Prospects UK 2012). This career was chosen as I feel like I would enjoy the creative aspects of planning my own unique, memorable and enjoyable events.
I would like to introduce myself as Katamneni Sruthi who is applying for Master of Science Program in the Department of Public Health. My areas of interest are Public Heath, Dentistry, Behavioral Sciences, Health Science, Health and Social Care and Psychology. As I write this, thousands of miles from my homeland of India, I think on the path that led me to Public Health. I often wonder when people talk of health care disparities, if they can ever truly grasp what it means, what crushing poverty entails, and even what an underdeveloped nation looks like.
In addition to my career journey within 1-2 years, in 2-5 years I plan to be overseeing my own venue. By this time, I will have the experience of working a venue and being aware the pros and cons. Which will also intel financing, contracts, networking, and much more. Leaving me in a position to give others the same opportunity I been blessed to have. Including the knowledge, I’ve received from my first term attending online
If nineteenth century was an era of the Industrial revolution in Europe, I would say that computer and Information Technology have domineered since the twentieth century. The world today is a void without computers, be it healthcare, commerce or any other field, the industry won’t thrive without Information Technology and Computer Science. This ever-growing field of technology has aroused interest in me since my childhood.
...ill take care of the both. After completing the course, I am sure I would be eligible to work at a key position in the industry and take fruitful business decisions. As it is evident from my academic records, I have always been very fond of studies and have a very competitive attitude towards studies, exams and results.

Education has always been a primary concern for my parents, who taught me that if I need to succeed in life, I have to be educated. Following their guide, I have always valued and tried to get the most of any educational opportunity I have had. Having grown up in a business family, I have always been interested in focusing my career in the business field. My Mother and Father own their own company, and they are constantly talking about business, which has inspired me to follow their path. When my parents retire, they want me to carry on their legacy. For this reason, I have decided to pursue my studies in the field of Business and Leadership at Marylhurst University. I want to pursue a well-rounded education at this established university where I also can have life experiences in the outside world, which will ultimately help me to become a successful leader in our family business.
...ations well. I have also participated in the Midlands Business Enterprise challenge, which me along will 5 other student, had won and come second in the national finals. Our business was based on the importance of recycling and how we can improve and promote the issue in public. My team working skills were significantly enhanced, along with my ability to communicate and contribute my ideas to a team of people. Consequently I feel a much more able public speaker and willingly to take part in class debates and various school presentations. Which I feel will be important factors that will give me an advantage while being a chemical engineer. My A level studies have given me the grounding that I need to study chemical engineering and I aspire to have an impact on the environment and ensure sustainability for future generations through the study of chemical engineering.
I am going into event planning, in the sector of the hospitality industry. Event planning industry is on the rise and is not glued to one specific genre, hence, there are several to choose from. Event planning is needed for all sorts of occasions such as, birthday parties, weddings, fundraisers, product launches, concerts, anniversaries, fashion shows, conferences, graduations, business meetings, and much more! It is an industry that will never stop growing and improving. Specifically, an event planner job includes working with clients, creating a positive self-image, networking with clients, and personal and financial gain.
As an Event Assistant my main responsibility is to provide administrative support and customer service for events in lower mainland, national and international locations. This entails, continuously to be in contact with various alumni from different demographics and be the point of contact. My position also necessitates me to work in conjunction with 5 events managers who have different working styles. Working on multiple events at the same time with similar deadlines there is grave need to develop prioritizing skills and change them at a moment’s notice if need arises.
I am applying to Seoul National University to continue the development of my critical learning skills and to broaden my knowledge base. I feel I am now ready to complete a degree, and understand what is required to function successfully in our environment. I realize that to advance from the world of undergraduate college curriculum to that of an atmosphere of higher education in graduate training, takes much of a prospective graduate student??s time and effort.
This class was the first opportunity I had to learn about the event planning industry. I knew that it took a lot to put together an event, but I had never fully realized how much actually goes into it. As a hospitality major, event planning is a necessary skill to have even though I do not plan to become an event planner. If I had the option to start working in this industry tomorrow, there would be several things that would either help or hinder me.
