A lifelong goal of mine is to find a career in which I can give back to my community, utilize my skillsets and experiences, and support myself while actively engaging in a career that is both enjoyable and challenging. As an industrial engineer working in the hospital setting, I believe that this field will be challenging for me due to the need of continuous improvements of the healthcare system. Despite the challenges, I believe that through teamwork, experience, and years of implementing new solutions to address pain points and expedite processes that I will see a change of the quality of care received and an overall advancement in healthcare technology. My passion for the healthcare system, interest in data analytics and process improvement, and desire to help people in this world have driven me to pursue industrial systems and …show more content…
I learned that industrial engineers are multidisciplinary and that every company or firm could benefit from them including businesses, warehouses, manufacturing plants, and even hospitals. Instantaneously I fell in love with the endless opportunities of industrial engineering and the fact that I could use my strengths of math and science to directly improve upon the lives of many people in a field involving teamwork, dynamic adaptation, and the practical application of organization and efficiency. Presently, I am working on my senior design project for my undergraduate degree with the exact same person that I interviewed those many years ago. In that short time I have accumulated knowledge in my healthcare concentration and delved into design projects and case studies. I am ecstatic to see what another four years of studying and contributing to healthcare technologies will do for my dreams, goals and the future of the field
My future career aspiration is to work somewhere in the medical field, and I believe that the Academy could help me figure out exactly where in the field I want to be. I would like to work in the medical field because there are so many different opportunities in healthcare to make a difference in people’s lives. I want to have a career where every day is something new and exciting, meeting and making impacts on people’s lives.
The healthcare field is a perfect field for me to be in. I am passionate about others well-being.
Since I was in elementary school, a career path in the medical field always caught my eye. I would want to pursue a career as a nurse because I want a job that is inspiring, challenging, and rewarding; I want to be able to make a difference in people’s lives every day. My mother is a registered nurse and just from the way she talks about her patients, I can see how much gratification and fulfillment she feels from her job. From a young age, I have always wanted a job that would leave a lasting impression on others. After some research, volunteering, and years of thought in what career interests me the most in the medical field, I feel certain that nursing is a profession that will fit me well.
After going through a lot of trial and error in my career, I have decided that I want to pursue being a Registered Nurse. Many things have led me to this career choice, including personal and financial gain. I have tried many other occupations and educational programs and none of them have fulfilled me like I believe nursing will. It has taken me a long time to get to this point and I often joke that I finally know what I want to be when I grow up. I will tell you about my journey and what I hope to gain in my future.
Out of hundreds of thousands of different jobs available in the country, the attractiveness of Anesthesiology has caught my attention. Ever since discovering the career and its rigorous requirements, I have been trying my hardest to achieve it. To become an Anesthesiologist requires dedication, responsibility and passion and I believe I acquire those assets. It requires demanding education and many years of pure dedication to have this occupation. University of Central Florida provides this requirement to become an Anesthesiologist, so I have decided to meticulously try my hardest to be admitted to this university.
My tiny child-sized legs wandered the hospital halls, my curious eyes watching people in lab coats and scrubs save patients and make people’s lives a little bit better. Even in terrible circumstances, I was amazed by their immense knowledge and care for every single person that walked through the hospital doors. The way they almost automatically knew what to do in situations and the ability to develop a personal connection with their patients and coworkers left me in awe. This added a light in my life and sparked what I am most passionate about today-
The healthcare field is ripe with opportunities, and the rapid growth extends beyond medical professionals. For an individual considering a career in the healthcare industry they have to set and accomplish goals which are important aspects of life-changing. Careers often successful begin through the education that suitable to support individual professional goals. An individual should establish an action plan that consists of professional goals which used to influence decisions in the chosen career, skills required, and skills to improve, the ultimate plan, an organization that offers valuable insight, and what strategies used to make these goals evident.
From a young age, I was drawn to the healthcare field, not because the amount of money doctors, nurses and other health professionals made, but because of the dedication and contentment I saw on their faces helping someone in need. Growing up everyone wanted to become a doctor or a nurse and as a little child being a doctor or a nurse was a profession many parents wanted their child to pursue as a career. Needless to say, I fell into that category because I had high hopes that one day I will become a nurse. However, that dream came to a halt.

Learning is a continuous process and the day that you stop learning is the day that you start decreasing your rewards and lower levels of satisfaction. My ardent desire to acquire knowledge has motivated me to pursue higher studies at graduate level, and to take up a career in research in industry. I have taken this decision after carefully considering my academic background, profound interest in research and strong aptitude for problem solving. Banking on an excellent academic record coupled with a keen interest in the ever-growing field of science and technology motivated me to take up engineering.
I have taught junior members how to program with Arduino and work with VEX Robotics. Currently, I am fabricating a bomb disposal robot from scratch. I have a passion for building things and solving problems. It started from assembling Lego skyscrapers to soldering my own electronics circuit boards from scratch and constructing robots. This passion influences me in pursuing an education in biomedical engineering.
I want to finish all my classes so that I can get the accounting technician certificate, and I am planning on finishing my the end of 2017. I also want to continue with my study to get my BA in business, so my academic goal for this year will be to complete all the classes necessary to get my certificate while working on my general education classes for my AA and transfer to a four year university for my BA, all while taking care of two kids, paying bill on time, keeping track of my kids academic school calendar, doctors appointments and anything else that come my way. I know and understand that it will get hectic but I also know that the best thing for me to get things done is to just push through it. Any help, guidance, or works shop that I can attend that will help me at school I will definitely take. The biggest support that I have are my two kids and my husband, all three of them help out as much as they can, and it helps me by alleviating some of the thing that I have to do at home which gives me more time to finish
“Knowledge, experience and the quality education are the best accomplishment in the race of life” is the statement in which I strongly believe and I forever yearn to have that. What is innovative today is obsolete tomorrow. We need to constantly streamline and upgrade our tools and resources. I believe that only an in depth study and an extensive research in my field of interest will help me to achieve my goal. I live in a world of changing times where technology is constantly engineering better lives. Brought up in a liberalized, humane and a capriciously technically charged environment, I see myself being a consistent part of constant changes around me. Today, my thoughts and aims in life spring from and centre around the world of Electrical Engineering.
The loss of funding coupled with a loss of interest in my research prompted my switch to a Master of Science. Once I switched to a Master’s, I really started to think about what I want to do with my life. My first year of grad school, I remember that my original end goal was to work in R&D long enough to get into a position where I could transition into a role in manufacturing and management. I came to this conclusion because I always enjoyed being in a position where I could oversee activities and devise strategies to improve processes. Even as an undergraduate in my design class, I was more interested in determining the optimal conditions to manufacture our design when compared to actually developing the design.
We are accessible only to a limited quantity of resources around us. Considering the current usage and availability of resources, it has become very important for us to use them as wisely as possible. As an industrial engineer my aim is to find ways to eliminate wastefulness and enhance the efficiency of the process or service being provided. I would like to enhance my knowledge and in order to achieve this, I wish to pursue my Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering at the Arizona State University. I aspire to do my PhD after my Masters to fulfil my long term career goal of carrying out postdoctoral industrial research while becoming a tenured professor.
