But for those who want to be in a higher management position like myself you will never a bachelor’s degree. You’ll also be required for more education depending on the type of Practice manager you want to be if it’s a special manager you want to be like a Physician practice manager you’ll have to take the certification test. Of course internship will be required of me in order to meet the requirement and be qualified as a Practice manager.
Traits and skills play a very big role in being a Practice manager. My career goal is to be the best Practice manager that I can be by making sure the office or facility I will be running is financially stable, I need to make sure that business is good. I want also make sure that my employees are happy where they work and feel appreciated. When your workers love their job and the company they work for business tends to run smoothly and successful. Being a Practice manager isn’t the job title I want for the rest of my life. I plan on getting my Masters in Healthcare Administration once I receive my bachelors. I will be working my way up to be a Hospital Administrator that is my big goal. I see so many Hospital Administrators in charge of the operations and the workers of the hospital whom don’t care about the patient or their employees. I want to be that Hospital Administrator that ensures that the employees are being treated properly as well as feeling worthy. I have seen people not give a care about the patient because they feel the company they work for doesn’t give a care about them. My goal would be to ensure that operations of the hospital are going smoothly, make sure the budget is carefully looked after. Budget would be the biggest responsibility that I would look after; your budget keeps the hospital a better place especially if it’s just right. A good budget plan also means a low turnover rate and that’s what I will be aiming for. Financial stability is one of the most important tasks that I have that I

Since a young age, I always felt inclined towards pursuing a career in the health care field; daydreaming about myself working at a clinic or hospital and making a positive impact on someone’s life. When I started college, I decided to major in Biology and explored the different career options the health field had to offer me by shadowing dietitians, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare workers to find my ideal job.
traveling, and combing the health field to it is almost like a dream come true. A physician
Due to the importance of their positions the clinic manager should possess the following skills: critical thinking, active listening, decision making, comprehension, accounting basics, excellent written and oral and ability to be a team player. Each of those aforementioned skills, when combined together, makes a strong leader. For example, critical thinking is being able to think outside the box of normality. Looking at issues and questioning what, when, how, why, etc. to find a resolution or different answer to a concern. Critical thinking can also be used in everyday mundane routines, looking at why something works well and implementing new ideas to make the task even better. Or the possession of excellent written and oral communication skills. The manager is the face of the clinic and the voice of the physicians and he/she must be able to comprehend the task at hand and articulate the needs of physicians in a way that the patients and staff can
Caring for people is my passion. My senior year of high school is when I witnessed my grandmother live on a ventilator for about a week. It awakened a new level of passion in me to care for people with cardiopulmonary problems. The Respiratory Therapy Care profession has intrigued me with how they improve the quality of life in their patients. I will enjoy working closely with patients in addition to working high tech equipment. By entering into this program and graduating out of this program I know that this will satisfy my personal goals for the next five years in many ways. The continues challenges of trying to figure out what’s wrong the heart that day or what’s wrong with the lung the next day will always keep me on my toes. It will always
I had known for years that I wanted to work in the health care field, but I always believed it would be as a doctor. I watched for the first few years of my brother’s life as he struggled with different health challenges such as being born premature, having croup and breathing difficulty, and speech impairment. Watching my brother struggle and then being able to overcome these difficulties, as well as seeing other children around him who were not as fortunate, really pushed me even at a young age to make a difference. My family, both immediate and extended, were very supportive, and I felt a real positive push towards working hard to achieve that goal of working in health care. In high school, I was fortunate enough to do a cooperative placement at the Peterborough Regional Health Center’s Intensive Care Unit. Through observing rounds and being in the medical setting, I truly knew this is where I wanted to
Ten years ago I was sitting in a classroom striving to understand the English language and how to read and write properly. I am a Mexican immigrant who came into the United States following the “American Dream” in search of a better life. I am a hard working individual with a passion for service and self-determination to make a difference in people’s lives. I come from a family that values unity and service to others. Caring for other people is what I love to do and it’s what makes me feel I have a real purpose in life. A career as a health care professional will fulfil both my personal and professional goals.
It is one I know I will love and will be much more than just a job. It gives ordinary people the opportunity to be a proponent for every patient especially those who may fall through the cracks of the health care system. With that being said, I established important goals to remain on this path for success. By the end of my career I hope to be ultimately satisfied with my choices and following the realistic and clear career goals I have put out with myself, I hope to acquire the characteristics needed to become a successful perioperative nurse and become not only a healthcare provider, but an advocate for my patients and to have the education needed to give them the care and dedication each patient
Reflecting back on the all the information learned this semester, I am amazed at how much I learned. Working in healthcare makes you aware of a lot of the topics that were covered, however, when you apply it to yourself, in a personal relationship, it becomes much more powerful what the impact of each topic is.
People that are interested in this line of work like activities that include leading, making decisions, and business. They have integrity, have leadership qualities, are able to take initiative, and are dependable people that can handle a high stress level. I learned from my results that I am more of social person and the interest profile would recommend me doing something that helps people or being of service to people, which I feel that I am able to do in this profession. I also was ranked highly in enterprising which means that I like persuading and leading people which I think is a great asset as well for being able to run a major facility and work with many different people this seems like these would be essential traits for this position. Further research has lead me to find a few more ideal characteristics to have. One being able to communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, customers, industry leaders, and hospital workers. Second, leadership is important. A healthcare administrator needs to have the ability to create a shared vision for and inspire the entire work staff/team. You also have to have a good knowledge of healthcare. Someone that is able to stay on top of healthcare system policies, the latest innovations in healthcare technology, and the ever changing political landscape of the industry. For the vast majority of my life, I have wanted to be in a medical profession. Excluding the time I wanted to be a pop star, emergency medicine has always captivated me. So much so that in my senior year of high school I obtained my AEMT certification and had planned on becoming a paramedic, later to become interesting in nursing. I worked with a company called Gold Cross in both Albert Lea and Rochester Minnesota.
Healthcare administration is a field that is often overlooked, but is essentially the beating heart of any healthcare organization. With more and more hospital, and clinics, and other healthcare organizations popping up everywhere there is a need for people like me to manage the day-to-day operations. I am choosing to apply to this program because I want to study how the U.S. healthcare system operates. I want to learn the essential skills of operating a healthcare facility such as managing a budget, reducing healthcare costs, analyzing the efficiency of an organization and proposing ways to improve it. This program is going to give me the necessary education and skills so I can carry out my goal of being a healthcare administrator.
From a young age, I was drawn to the healthcare field, not because the amount of money doctors, nurses and other health professionals made, but because of the dedication and contentment I saw on their faces helping someone in need. Growing up everyone wanted to become a doctor or a nurse and as a little child being a doctor or a nurse was a profession many parents wanted their child to pursue as a career. Needless to say, I fell into that category because I had high hopes that one day I will become a nurse. However, that dream came to a halt.
