I've heard so many wonderful things about the KASMA program at Agoura, but the most was from my older brother who praised the program the most. He played a huge role in why I wanted to join the program, and I see how it benefited him in so many ways during his high school career. Another reason why I want to join Sports Med is because I want to help people. Even though I am not confident in what I want to study in college, I've always known that I want to be able to help people with my profession. Being a part of this program can help me succeed in what goes into helping people both on and off the field. I also desire to learn some skills that will be beneficial to me in the future academically and in everyday life that I will carry on in any …show more content…
An example of my understanding of topics is how well I am doing in my Chinese class. As of currently, it is one of my highest grades. Considering that I have not been exposed to Mandarin in my life, I have found a way to learn a new way of studying. I could adapt those same exact study skills to the sports med classroom and know that I could succeed. In my opinion, my work ethic is always present in every task I complete, both in and out of school. Another quality I have is that I am also a very big person and enjoy working with others to complete assignments. The admission to the program will help me in various ways, one being academically and then the other being it will help me with learning life-saving skills that I can carry with me in my normal day-to-day life. Just knowing first aid care can help me in many ways. One application is through babysitting and being confident that I know what to do if an urgent situation occurs. I think it could also help me be a more responsible and reliable person in general. I would learn how to manage my time to study for the rigorous class and be a reliable person with any shifts I
IMSA’s opportunities are one of the main reasons I am applying. As I want to pursue a career in the medical field, especially in sports medicine. I believe that IMSA’s opportunities will help me achieve these goals of mine through the community and the overall culture at IMSA, and I believe I can contribute to IMSA’s environment by involving myself in the extensive extracurricular activities IMSA has.
My future career aspiration is to work somewhere in the medical field, and I believe that the Academy could help me figure out exactly where in the field I want to be. I would like to work in the medical field because there are so many different opportunities in healthcare to make a difference in people’s lives. I want to have a career where every day is something new and exciting, meeting and making impacts on people’s lives.
Presently, my extracurricular and academic interests are combined in my two year Health Science class. The class provides real-life medical situations that I may come in contact with in the future. Like any health science class, we study the body, in both its’ functional and dysfunctional state. This survey class also includes an introduction to equipment, medical protocol, and ethical issues. A sense of teamwork guides our procedures. Next semester, I will study at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Ramstein High School’s Career Practicum program. After initial on-the-job application of classroom learning, we will work with patients, supervised by the hospital staff. Living so close to a hospital that services thousands of seriously injured patients every year provides opportunities that other students lack, even in their college programs.
My lifetime goal is helping others and I plan to use my career to fulfill it. The classes I’m taking right now and the ones I’m planning to take senior year are classes I believe will influence my decision in my college major/career as well as counting toward my GPA. This will help me get into schools who have medical programs that I’m considering. Also, taking AP classes can help me save money since I can earn college credit. I’m taking all AP classes, and the electives I’m taking have been classes that have helped me consider being in the medical field. I’ve found that over the years, science and math are what I’m doing better in versus history and english. I believe by being in the medical field, I can help others in the best way I can.
When I began high school, I decided to focus on my academics and athletics because I felt those were the most important to my future. I chose my classes carefully so that I would not only be challenged with rigorous classes, but also learn the value of working hard individually and as a team. As I’ve matured over the last few years I realized that I’m able to participate in a wider range of activities and still excel in my academics and athletics. I intend to continue to balance activities such as these while attending
A Career in Sports Medicine As we begin to grow up and come to the end of our high school career we must start to begin to start thinking about what type of career we want to be in. It is very important that a person picks the right type of career for them. Otherwise you will be unhappy with what you are doing and will not enjoy it at all. I am not entirely sure what I want my career to be
I was also able to study how sports effect a human body’s health in as depth as at cellular level. A2 Physical Education has complimented my biological studies by teaching general anatomy and bodily systems, but more specifically, muscular and skeletal systems. I have also learnt the fundamentals of sport, what it takes to be an effective leader and ???. Mathematics with statistics has improved my logical reasoning, problem solving skills and analytical skills. I will be able to use mathematical knowledge of standard deviation and distributions to predict sporting outcomes and performances.
Moreover, I am in a career pathway. In addition, as I have mentioned before, my dream or goal is to be a part of the medical field as my career. Therefore, in last year, when we were selecting classes for high school, I have decided to
gather data on the risks of participating in various sports. Almost all of these attempts
Throughout the years as I've grown, I've noticed that I have a passion for children and a passion for their health. I believe I have the academic skills to be able to start my journey on becoming a pediatric nurse. In junior year of high school I took "Medical Office Technology" which was my favorite class I have ever taken in high school. It teached me medical terminology and informed me on types of medicine. This year as a senior I am taking "Child Development" and I am enjoying this course. This course teaches me about children and their development from the time they are born until they are 18 years old. I believe these two courses have taught me alot more about medicine and children. Other than academically I believe my personality traits would contribute to the medical school community. I am very patient and passionate with children. I am also a good listener and feel very comfortable around children as they are comfortable around me. My family and friends always say I have a gift with children. Their energy and happiness rubs off on me and makes me a better
The subject came so naturally to me and I decided to continue my enrollment in sports medicine courses throughout my high school education. As my senior year of high school concluded, I explored the idea of a career in physical therapy by job shadowing at the Idaho Sports Medicine Institute (ISMI). After observing the PTs at ISMI, I was immediately drawn to a career in physical medicine. A few months later, I started my education at Idaho State and felt exactly like I did when I started sports medicine in high school. I was absolutely enthralled with my classes, naturally excelled in all of my coursework, and always had PT school in the back of my mind. I knew I would have to work extremely hard to develop a strong undergraduate transcript and build a competitive application. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have worked relentlessly to maintain academic excellence and currently have a 3.91 GPA. I have also succeeded in making the College of Education’s Dean’s List for five semesters. Unfortunately, I did not receive the honor of making the Dean’s List on one occasion, as I was .02 points below the minimum
What is Sports Medicine? Well the word says it all; sports medicine is the study and practice of medicine related to the science of sports in the areas of diagnosing and treating sports injuries, injury prevention, and athletic training that includes workouts or exercises and nutrition. In other words, sports medicine is a field of medicine that concentrates exclusively on the injuries resulting from sports such as football, baseball, basketball, and other sports. There are many different kinds of sports injuries; therefore there have to be several kinds of orthopedics or specialists to treat patients according to their injuries. There are many sport medicine researchers that are working hard to find different ways to help all kinds of injuries. They also look for corporations that are willing to support the athletes and help out with the costs of sports medicine. The sports medicine field is a very broad field; this means that athletes can find help for their injuries no matter what kind of injury they have.
During my undergraduate education, I took a substantial amount of courses like Psychology to study the human mind and functions, Anatomy and Physiology to study the human body, Medical Terminology to know the term used in today’s medical field. Most of all, I took courses in Radiology which deals a lot with the human bones and bedside manners. I believe the knowledge that I have acquired during my undergrad education has prepared me to start my new found career. In addition, more than 15 years of working with Microsoft Office and company database will help me to succeed with my in class and online
A personal legend is unique, and customary to each person. My personal legend is to become a sports medicine physician. Becoming a sports medicine physician has always been my personal legend, a journey driven by a passion for both sports and healthcare. From a young age, I was fascinated by the human body’s power and resilience, often finding myself captivated by documentaries and stories of athletes overcoming injuries. This curiosity blossomed into a desire to not only understand the science behind physical performance, but also to aid in the recovery and conditioning of other athletes.
Although I have great goals to help people, my grand wish cannot be granted without a great amount of effort on my part. I decided to take part in activities that would help me reach my goals and to ready myself for that field of work. My extracurricular activities and my electives showed proof of my interest in the medical field over time. I made an extra effort to look for activities and classes that could help me on the way to becoming a doctor. My first step was
