After I’ve my research about health profession careers, I am now most interested in becoming a cardiovascular surgeon because it’s a field of medicine that deals with one of the most essential organs of the body, the heart. I have been in healthcare for about 6 years now. I started off as a nutritionist in a hospital setting, working with patients of all health statuses. I worked closely with doctors to determine what meal plan would best suit each patient. I went to work day after day to meet a new group of patients who were previously admitted the night before; very rarely did I work long term with one particular patient. Although I enjoyed helping people change their eating habits and educating them on how to better their health, at the end of the day I felt like there was something missing; I wanted more.

Because I have a learning disability unfortunately I have to take remedial courses like intermediate algebra, Brush up English, and a reading course the first semester. The good thing about studying Radiology is you can switch to any type of jobs in this field. For an example, you can switch to working with MRI’s or Cat Scans if you want to try another department in the Radiology field. This specific field is for you to work with x-rays. It’s important to know the bone structure .You can work with ultrasounds to, Cat Scans, to MRI’s (Magnetic resonance imaging).
Furthermore, I will be applying to medical school for Fall 2018 as well; therefore, the process of completing applications while managing the coursework of a MCAT prep course and biostatistics will be demanding. Furthermore, I expect the difficulty of these courses to be more ambitious than my undergraduate coursework at A&M due to the extreme preparatory nature for professional school. I’ve also been informed that the classes are regarded like UNT’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program, but that will be an obstacle that I look forward to confronting, so that I may be thoroughly prepared for medical

Out of hundreds of thousands of different jobs available in the country, the attractiveness of Anesthesiology has caught my attention. Ever since discovering the career and its rigorous requirements, I have been trying my hardest to achieve it. To become an Anesthesiologist requires dedication, responsibility and passion and I believe I acquire those assets. It requires demanding education and many years of pure dedication to have this occupation. University of Central Florida provides this requirement to become an Anesthesiologist, so I have decided to meticulously try my hardest to be admitted to this university.
My decision to pursue a career as an Anesthesiology Assistant is hinged on three factors; first, a desire to advance in the healthcare sector and be able to take up higher responsibilities in patient care; secondly, an intentional process of building a healthcare career that would be personally fulfilling and rewarding; and thirdly, embarking on a career path that will enable me to integrate my prior education, experiences and skills, and use them as a backdrop for effective care delivery. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology. I undertook studies in this area because I had always had a deep-seated desire to help people recover from adverse situations. At the same time, I trained and work as a medical assistant, which has enabled me to have a lot of patient contact. Based on my knowledge of psychology and my clinical experiences, I began to explore career advancement options
A surgical technologist job hours is at least 18 hours, if they are sleeping at home and get an emergency call they have to go in and work. As the surgeon's walk into the operating room, with the help of the
While medical school application committees will look at the courses you took in college and how hard they were, you are better off simply going to college of your choice where you know you will be more successful. Getting more A’s at a regular and smaller college is definitely better than getting C’s in a top-tier. Of course, if you intend for a more rigorous study than by all means you should strive to be able to enter those top-tier schools such as Harvard. The cost of tuition is also tends to have a tremendous factor in what school to attend to so simply make sure to look at every option before officially selecting one. The price can range somewhere around $200,000 to $380,000 for approximately 8 years of schooling needed before your residency; which isn’t too expensive for the career it caters to. Anyways, with the salary you’ll be receiving, it will be a breeze paying off the student loans. The average salary of a pediatrician ranges from $169,000 to 189,000 and will vary due to the number of patients seen and the number of hours that had been worked. This may seem to be a large amount of money, but pediatricians are actually one of the lowest paid medical specialties and after completing residency most of the doctors tend have racked up an impressive amount of debt that begins to be slowly paid back. You are still guaranteed a financially stable life, so long as you spend your money
In our lives we face multiple challenges. It makes you feel like tomorrow won’t come or that the sun won’t shine again. We wonder when the pain will stop or if the hardest days of our lives will be the last. At a very young age, my journey of hardest days were just about to start for me. This journey of mine began on the day I took my first breath on this beautiful earth. Seconds after that moment, life handed me my first challenge.
In high school, I chose many courses based on requirements instead of true interest in the material. College will allow me to focus and invest myself in areas applicable to my future aspirations. Through the Program in Liberal Medical Education, the opportunity to satisfy all of my academic curiosities exists. My primary goal is to become a surgeon, but I also appreciate social reformation, travel, and the Spanish language. This program would allow me to gain an in-depth understanding of these subjects and to participate in life-changing experiences outside the classroom while working towards a medical degree.
Computer courses are useful as technology is changing the way medicine is shared by physicians today. To head a career as a physician, a student needs to first enroll in a liberal arts program in undergraduate institution. Some colleges offer a premed major, but a general education with as many science and math course as possible and a major in biology or chemistry is good preparation for the study of medicine also. During sophomore or junior year in college, students should talk with an adviser about taking the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT). College students should apply to medical schools at the beginning of their senior year, so it is recommended to begin medical school research as early as freshman
Striving to help any person in need that crosses my path is my goal in life because I love giving back to my community and interacting with new faces. I know that someday I will look back at all the things I did throughout my life and I would be glad to say I helped make a difference in the life of a family that really needed the help. My desire is to one day have a PHD as a General surgeon; this career is an important factor in today’s society because as a General surgeon a person focuses on the abdominal contents of a person’s body. Without General surgeons, many people that are in need of abdominal surgeries would most likely end up with horrible pain all their life or even worst ended up dead. A general surgeon has the potential to change not only their patient’s life, but the lives of the patient’s family. General surgeons give people of today’s world a fighting chance to not only live longer, but see life in a different view and appreciate it more. The career of a General Surgeon plays an important role in today’s society because it keeps society from falling apart with the spread of illnesses and diseases.
My future plans are to become a biomedical scientist. Biomedical scientists serve in all levels of health science research from basic science working with cell cultures to human clinical trials experimenting the most cutting-edge breakthroughs to maximize human quality of life. I am interesting in researching rare diseases. There are many rare diseases that affect small proportions of the population and unfortunately go unnoticed for reason. Unfortunately, usually it is because therapeutic agents for these diseases would have a much smaller market than therapeutics for common diseases. There is an immense need for research attention to ultimately improve clinical outcomes in patients of rare diseases because many are a lifelong chronic prognosis and are genetic and non-modifiable by lifestyle factors and are lacking of often absent of current treatment options. The government helps by socializing the solution by having money set aside by public National Institute of Health (NIH) to research ‘orphan diseases’. An example of one such program from the NIH is Orphan Products Natural History Grants Program.
