1. TIMING
Timing is critical when determining if your child is ready to be potty trained. In most cases children are showing an interest in becoming potty trained between the ages of 18 months to 24 months old. During this process the parent should try to avoid using toilets that have the auto flush, which often times scare many children. In the event you find yourself having to use this particular type of toilet, consider covering the sensor so that the parent can control the flush. Having a toilet stall with adequate space, along with an appropriate size potty chair that allows the parent to kneel and console their child during this tedious process is also helpful.
2. PATIENCE & UNDERSTANDING
Displaying good behavior throughout the potty training process is important in achieving success. Whether it is the mother to the daughter or the father to the son, tolerance cannot be stressed enough. Ensure that when communicating with the child, that the instructions are slow, clear and concise to their level of understanding. It is also important not to forget the age difference dur...
I was responsible for implementing intervention for one child with autism, while also working with his typically developing sibling and interacting with their parents. Often times, this child had temper tantrums which taught me to quickly and effectively respond to his outbursts. This hands-on experience expanded my understanding as to how people adapt to a lifestyle when they have a family member that is not typically developing. Having the parents’ approval and trust in working with their child showed me the crucial importance of having a strong connection with individual
In different countries and cities, infant caretaking styles can differ widely due to varying cultures and values. For example, the study done by Morelli, Rogoff, Oppenheim and Goldsmith in 1992 revealed differences in the infant sleeping practices between Mayan parents and U.S. parents from Utah. While more Mayan parents preferred to let their infants sleep on their bed to develop a close mother-infant bond, more U.S. parents preferred to keep their infants on a separate bed and to let them sleep alone as soon as possible in order to allow their child to become independent (Morelli et al., 1992). The purpose of this study is to examine the caretaking practices of a current parent through an interview and to compare and contrast the parent’s
...the sheet with ease. She received her first fail when we got to balance on each foot for 5 seconds. With the need for autonomy and her activity level it is very important that her parents know to keep a very close eye on her and not allow her to be in a situation of potential harm.
One mother relates that she took both of her daughters' pacifiers away at the age of three months. They says that they did not seem to need sucking on it anymore to soothe themselves and that they were too young to remember having it. This mother also observed that it is much easier to take away something from infants than from toddlers. She therefore advises taking the binky away as soon as possible and avoid greater problems later on.
Parenting is not easy. Especially when society offers so many different types of approaches to childbearing. Some specific ways include an authoritative style, a neglectful style, a permissive style, and a strict style, however, the list goes on and on. As a parent, it is often hard to tell which method is the most effective and beneficial to a child. Nowadays, and more than ever, people are finding that some parents may be getting too involved. Too much parent involvement may seem harmless but, in reality, has many negative impacts on a child’s life.
Child providers need to know the correct way to change a diaper and appropriate ways to teach children to use the toilet in order to prevent the spread of illness.

Were you patient for your child to start doing things on its own, such as walking, talking and exploring or were you pushing your child to accomplish these things sooner? Yes, I was patient for Christine to start doing things on her own. I never push her to do anything but I did encourage her to do things I knew she was capable of doing.
When dealing with children, parents and educators usually have a hard time in understanding kids in order to help them follow guidelines. It is a great achievement to be able to adhere to children and keep them on the right path. When one has to deal with a child it is very difficult to communicate, understand, and listen in order to get a feel of how to guide the child. If all these components are obtained then it can lead to a positive relationship with the child all the way to adulthood. If the parent and educators want to truly create an open communication and stable environment they should utilize the book, How To Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen so Kids Will Talk by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish. It can guide you to establish communication skills and help better in dealing with children. “The Science of Raising Courageous Kids” by Martin Brokenleg and Steve Van Bockern is proof that validates Faber and Mazlish’s practice.
Elimination pattern varies among family members. No bowel or bladder problems. They all have regular bowel movements and voids frequently without complaints. The mother and daughter exercises at least three days per week. The father, who can be unbalanced at times, walks every day for one hour. While walking he stays in touch with family members every fifteen minutes. Due to his illness, he is unable to do other forms of exercises. He however enjoys going to the movies and shows with his wife and

People say, “No one is born knowing how to be a parent, but it’s a process that everyone has to go through in life as they grow older and have children.” We have to do it from the style of parents that we choose who to be, not what someone else picks for us or shows us how to do.
Despite all that has been said, no specific method is to be followed by all parents; instead, a parent is required to seek what works best, and what gives better results in their case. These methods can thrive in different families and cultures as they are built upon extremely diverse
In most of the steps, while providing the personal care I faced some problems, but there were some steps in the skills that I performed well.
