Thesis is a strong statement that tells readers what will they going to read next.
Beginning with the introduction part, the body paragraphs follow. Body paragraphs should contain the supporting statements, evidences, quotations,...

In our modern society, we have forgotten the art of writing. When we write, we think to ourselves, the longer the sentence, the more intelligent I will sound. Many may say it is by writing long sentences. But is it all that true? In this piece of writing I would like to focus on an essay written by Verlyn Klinkenborg, Several Short Sentences About Writing. In this essay he explains how and why when we write, we should keep our sentences short. he also explains why students should be assigned essays that are not determinate on other sources as evidence. I will also be comparing this to a piece written by Sarah Manguso, Ongoingness. I will be comparing these two pieces on their writing style, and their essayistic ideas. My belief is that we need
Just write. Use your imagination. Let your thoughts run wild and write with a passion. Is this what defines an essay? This is the ability to freely write of someone’s desires and dreams…all through an essay. In her excerpt “Portrait of the Essay as a Warm Body”, Cynthia Ozick uses diction, irony, and metaphor to help distinguish an essay from an article.
Trying to rush to the paragraph is not the right way to begin. Take a few minutes to understand what really the argument is saying. An argument essay depends on an effective, convincing, well-developed evidence. Likewise, the argumentative essay has three major parts, the introduction, the body and the conclusion. The readers as an audience can spot you out right away after reading your first paragraph whether it is a good or bad essay. In introduction paragraph, you always need to explain the prime subject and end it with your thesis. Thesis engages your reader through your thesis statement which gives the purpose of the essay. Your thesis will be the heart of an argumentative essay which covers and give meanings to every paragraph. It should be a clear and concise to the audience where it signals and makes your reader attentive about your main points and arguments. In addition, your introduction paragraph will be the roadmap for the rest of the
The five paragraph essay is tremendously valuable to me as a student. I have realized throughout my research that this format is seldom used by professionals; it is mostly used by students like me. I believe I now understand why that is; it seems to be a very clear way of composing a paper. It has a great deal of structure to it, and allows for more consistency and a better flow. Without having such structure, it is easy to go off on tangents, and at the same time, confuse the reader. The five-paragraph essay is essentially a sealant. Just like sealant fastens things together and helps ensure that things are in order, well-fitted, and secure. So too, the five paragraph essay makes sure that all of the various writing components fit well and will not become unfastened.
As a writer, my greatest strength is to layout the essay as introduction, body and conclusion and especially thesis. In EAP, I was taught carefully in this regard, the construction of introduction, a thesis is the main factor because it is the main point of the essay. However, arranging ideas and put them into sentences are not my strong. For example, in the essay, there were a lot of ideas and arguments that I collected and I put them randomly in paragraph...
There are different types of essay writing including descriptive, illustrative, compare and contrast, persuasive and cause an effect. The main idea of the essay, or the thesis, is presented in the first paragraph. As I explained earlier, there are four steps in essay writing. The first being the essay must have a point that you are trying to get across. Sometimes deciding what you want to write about can be the hardest part of writing an essay. Once you have decided on the topic, then you must prove your point. The point must be presented in a way that the reader will automatically understand what you are trying to convey. I have learned that having the point of an essay understandable can mean the difference between a passing and failing grade.

Writing assignments over this course of time have gave knowledge and taught new processes for specific types of assignments. My attitude overall this semester has changed towards the writing process, as before I only use to pay attention to developing my three main ideas. Now I give attention to throws cited, grammar, structure and organization of the paragraphs. Essay’s overall presentation, problem solution and convincible factors lead to a good essay. In this course I have learned and written many essays from as small as reading responses to writing an argumentative paper. All the essays had a similar style of writing and that is that it had to have a thesis, body paragraphs, and a conclusion except for the major assignments like LEN, Argumentative Paper, Lit Review, and etc., which required more than just those three elements to writing the essay. I prefer one type of writing style to another because it lets me see the difference in my writing and if there are improvements in my writing. I do see similarities in the different essays I wrote and they are that my thesis statements are not strong enough, which is why my essays are not strong enough. Choosing a good thesis statement and having good body paragraphs are crucial to writing essays because that is the key part of the essay, which I needed work on all semester.

Most teachers and professors like to assign essays as assignments in their classes. Some students like this but most do not. There are many steps to writing an effective essay; some are easier than others. First you must pick a topic. For many people this is the hardest part of essay writing. Next you have to design a thesis statement. With out that you can not write an effective essay. Then you need to create at least three points that support your thesis. Once you have your points picked you should create an outline. This will help you to explain your points. Finally you need to write a conclusion that sums up every thing you have just written.
