A poet is like an artist who is creating a picture with words; poets want to share their perspective of the world. To do this they use imagery that triggers the reader’s imagination. Images in poems focus on the senses to portray mental images of the picture a poet is trying to paint. Lastly, Onomatopoeia is the usage of words whose sounds echo their meaning such as swish, buzz, or
