Two out of three people are diagnosed with lung cancer in their 60 or older, less than 2 percent are younger than 45 years old. 20 percent of men are more likely to get lung cancer than women and women are 10 percent less likely to get lung cancer. More than 430,000 people today are diagnosed with lung cancer. Lung cancer has many different stages from stage one to stage four, the survival rate for stage one lung cancer is 52 percent and live 5 years after being diagnosed with stage one lung cancer, people who are diagnosed with lung cancer during stage two have a survival rate of 30 percent, people who become diagnosed with stage …show more content…

Smoking a couple time a day or smoking occasionally can still increase your risk to get lung cancer. Secondhand smoking is also a leading factor to lung cancer, you may not realize how bad it is to be around someone who is smoking but you and the person you're around can get lung cancer. Secondhand smoking is easy all you have to do is inhale the smoke from a cigarette and you are at risk of getting lung cancer. Second Hand smoking can also lead to many other cancers. Another risk factor leading to lung cancer is personal or family history you are at risk of developing lung cancer. People such as you brothers, sisters, and children who once had lung cancer may have a slightly higher risk of lung cancer themselves, especially if the relative was diagnosed at a younger age. There's a way you can prevent lung cancer one of the main ways to prevent lung cancer is to not smoke and if you have smoked in the past you have already put yourself at risk for lung cancer. Another way to prevent lung cancer is if a relative is smoking go somewhere else where you won't breath in the smoke until they are done
