Lung Cancer
There are more than a million people suffer from cancer in the United States every day. Lung cancer is not the only type of cancer but it affects many people and families every day. Lung cancer makes the lives of its patients and the families. Lung cancer is one of the deadliest types of cancer and also one of the most common. Hundreds of thousands of people get diagnosed with lung cancer every year in just the United States. Also close to just as many people die from lung cancer in the US every year. I am going to talk about lung cancer and what it is, how to lower your risk of getting it, statistics of it, and the research and treatment of it.
According to “Medical News Today” cancer is a disease that is caused by an over growth of anomalous cells on one or more lungs. Cells often go up the air pipes which can cause difficulty to breath. Due to the over production of cells the tissue cells often begin to over produce; which results in tumors. There are two types of tumors: malignant and benign. Malignant tumors are the more dangerous of the two due to its invasive nature; which makes it cancerous. While benign is not invasive in other words non-cancerous. This is why cancer spreads to multiple areas and can be sometimes very difficult to fight. Cancer cells are abnormal not only because of their evasive nature, but also because of its irregular life cycle. Rather than expire like a regular cell, they continuously grow and duplicate which causes the disease to spread. This makes cell abnormal in shape and other qualities; known as a sickle cell. Due to the large growth and reproduction rate of the cells this makes the spreading of the cancer more rapid. Each cancer has specific symptom, for lung cancer the sympto...

...effects that can come with chemotherapy such as nausea, vomiting, hair loss, fatigue, mouth sores, and more. Radiation therapy is pretty bad but not as painful with side effects. Side effects for radiation therapy are coughing, fever, fullness of chest, soreness and scaring. Many times surgery is not an option but when is it is one of the best options due to the fact there are less side effects and no strenuous treatment. One of the reasons cancer is such a bad thing is because the treatment is not good but research is taking place and working to get more effective.
I talked about lung cancer and multiple parts of it. I hope one day that cancer will be cured by me or someone else. The numbers for lung cancer are very high but they have minimized through the years so things are getting better. I hope you learned something from reading this I learned by writing it.
The leading cause of death in America is lung cancer. Lung cancer is ranked top 10 fatal cancers in the United States. There are many types of ways to get lung cancer. There is radon gas it occurs outdoors naturally. Then there is second hand smoke that comes from other people smoking. People are even getting lung cancer from cancer causing agents, this happens from carcinogens. You can also get it from air pollution indoors and outdoors. Also there are gene-mutations that form cancer causing cells. Then there is the one everyone blamed lung cancer is smoking.
Cancer has caused a total of 7.6 million deaths annually, or about 13% of deaths worldwide. Lung cancer being the most common type, accounts for 1.37 million of those deaths. But what are the leading factors that cause this type of cancer and what can be done to prevent the increasing number of deaths?
Diagnosed with lung cancer, now what!? Time to do some research. Lung cancer is the number one cause of deaths in males and females. The causes, diagnosis, and treatment of lung cancer have advanced recently with new technology available to scientists and the medical profession. Lung cancer develops when the cells grow abnormally and tumors form instead of healthy lung tissue. It can take place in one or both lungs, normally the cells that line the air passages. Not all tumors are cancerous, the ones that do not spread are benign tumors. The more tumors that develop in the lungs will cause the lungs to work less efficiently. The metastatic tumors spread to other parts of the body passing through the blood stream or lymphatic system.
Lung cancer is arguably the most devastating of all cancers, leading to more annual deaths than breast, prostate, and colon cancers combined (Crosta). 228,000 new cases are found every year (Marks) and there are approximately 1,370,000 deaths per year. Cancer in general accounts for 7.6 million deaths all around the globe. Cancer alone stands for thirteen percent of global deaths (Crosta). The percentage for the survival rate of lung cancer is a devastating sixteen percent (Marks)! More females are diagnosed with this cancer over men, but does not mean men cannot get this cancer as well. Actually, my uncle was diagnosed with lung cancer this past Summer. Shockingly, a couple of months later, my cousin, who I call my grandmother was diagnosed
Lung cancer is one of the most common types of cancers in the world. There are three main types of lung cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer, and lung carcinoid tumor. Just like any other cancer, lung cancer is dangerous, and a life threatening problem. Many studies and researches have been presented to find a cure, but an exact cure has yet to be found. There are however multiple causes, ways to diagnose, and treatments for lung cancer.
Amongst the different types of fatal diseases, which humanity still has not been able to treat, cancer stands as one of the greatest feared illnesses. Unlike malaria, AIDS or other diseases that are contagious and easily transmittable in underdeveloped and low income countries, Cancer affects people all around the world, including equally rich and poor countries. Among the different forms of cancer, lung cancer remains the most common. The environment in which the public lives in plays a huge role in the development of this cancer. Cancer develops when cells in the body are mutated, and thus causing uncontrollable and rapid growth. Lung cancer is the uncontrollable development of atypical cells that form in either both or one lung. Lung cancer
Over a hundred years ago lung cancer was considered a very rare disease. Lung cancer is a disease that is known worldwide. Lung cancer is one of the four most common cancer. Lung cancer is detrimental to the Respiratory System and can cause permanent damage. Lung cancer is a tumor that grows in your lungs and it can also spread to other parts of your body. Early stages of lung cancer are hard to detect because it could take about a year for the tumor to grow to the point when you start experiencing symptoms. The most common cause of lung cancer is smoking cigarettes and other tobacco products. There are other causes like secondhand smoke, asbestos, and lung cancer is common in your family.Lung cancer has different risk factors, symptoms,
Chemotherapy often causes severe side effects such as internal bleeding, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, hair loss, and an oxygen deficiency of the blood known as anemia. Generally, tumors are satisfactorily treated with radiation and/or surgery, but chemotherapy helps to slow down rapidly growing cancer cells.
Hi Dr. Kim! Thank you so much for listening to my ideas the last time I saw you! Me and Nathan have done more research about preventing and fighting cancer, we have decided to make a kit including a medicine and diet that should be used while using the medicine.
Cancer is a disease that affects human somatic cells. It causes the cells to divide uncontrollably and form masses known as tumors. There are two different types of cancer tumors. Some tumors are benign and other tumors are malignant. Benign tumors look similar to the tissues that they came from and develop slowly. The tumor remains in the same area that the tumor originated in. Malignant tumors are formed from cells that do not resemble the tissue that they came from. They vary in shape and size. This enables pieces of the tumor to break off and spread to other places in the body. Over the past few decades cancer has become a very prominent disease. There are many different types of cancer and many different causes for the the disease. Most cancers are because of a genetic mutation. The most common type occur when a cell is dividing. Proto-oncogenes, which are alleles in a normal cells, mutate to form oncogenes. These oncogenes cause cancer because they do not allow the cells to self destruct or become epistatic. There have been several research projects which have been testing epistatis.
Cancer is a group of more than 100 different diseases that are characterized by an uncontrolled cellular growth, local tissue invasion, and metastasis. (). When we are born we all are born with normal cells that grow until adulthood, we are also born with abnormal
Cancer is defined as where the abnormal cells are divided without any control and they are able to invade into tissues. At times cancer can be cured right away once it is detected through treatments that the doctor recommends, but at times cancer cannot be cured based on what stage the cancer is at. It is very important that every individual gets a physical check up to see if they are diagnosed or detected with any sort of cancer or disease. There are 100 types of cancers out there, but the type of cancer that I will be focusing on is Lung cancer. One of the controversial issues on a lung cancer is the ...
Lung cancer forms from abnormal growth of the cells. Since cancer comes from the cells, cancer stars in the lining of your lungs bronchi and also some parts of your bronchioles and alveoli. “Cancers
Cancer is a poisonous disease. In lament terms it is an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in parts of the body. A malignant growth. To people who fall victim to this disease and their loved ones it is a death sentence. Thankfully scientific research is so advanced that we know multiple causes of cancer and how we can live a healthier lifestyle to prevent cancer.
Surgery is the most common treatment used to remove a tumor, it can remove most if not all of the malformation. Some of the side effects of this treatment are an increase in the symptoms from the tumor, damage to normal brain tissue which can then cause muscle weakness and decreases in brain-controlled activities, and swelling of the brain. Chemotherapy kills or damages rapidly growing cells, although it can also affect normal tissue. Chemotherapy’s common effects are nausea, loss of energy, and hair loss. Additionally, it weakens the immune system making it easier to get an infections; and since it is given through the veins, the kidneys and the reproductive organs can be damaged. Radiation therapy has some similar side effects to chemotherapy except the effects on the kidneys, reproductive organs, and the immune system are not as severe since they are not receiving direct radiation. This treatment can cause small blood vessels in the brain to become blocked which then reduces blood flow to some areas of the brain (Long Term Side Effects of Brain Tumour Radiotherapy). Hair and skin are usually affected by radiation therapy. Permanent hair loss can be a factor and the skin can become darkened and a reddish color that needs to be protected from sunlight (Brain Cancer Symptoms, Causes, Treatment - What Are the Side Effects of Brain Cancer Treatment?). Even though the treatments get rid of the tumor, the effects from them are sometimes just as bad and can produce permanent
