Well this is no problem any longer as now Microsoft have now allowed for their Office programs to be installed on to Macs. But along with a person now being able to carry on using Microsoft Office on their new Apple Mac they also have the chance to be able to access other popular software programs as well. Today all Apple Macs come with Adobe Photoshop, MSN Messenger as well as access to iTunes. However even if you find that certain files you have on your current PC and which you don't have an application on your Mac to use them don't worry. Today there are plenty of programs available which now allow you to export these documents that is common for all types of PCs and which can then be put on to a Apple Mac using the right application. Although there are some programs such as MS Publisher which does not allow you to convert their files into a Mac Format, Apple have rectified this situation. Today all Intel based Macs now allow you to boot up directly into Windows and so it allows you to make the necessary transition simply from MS Publisher into a Mac Application instead. The only real disadvantage to owning an Apple Mac PC over other computers is that it can be somewhat difficult to improve

Apple Computer Inc designs, manufactures, and markets personal computers and related personal computing and communication solutions. The return of Steve Jobs, the companies founder, as CEO has pulled the company’s stock price up 775-percent through his launch of innovative products such as the iMac computer line. Another problem that has been evaluated is the overall price of each Apple product. While each product is built on quality and new technology, finding new and cheaper sources of manufacturing would be beneficial in obtaining new
As a young college student walking into a Best Buy to purchase a laptop for college can be a little intimidating. There are many things to consider such as hard drive, what processors are the best, which screen has the best resolution, or would you rather build a computer that best suits you. The options are endless and in most cases it can become overwhelming, due to the rapid expansion in technology a variety of products that are available have increased dramatically in the past 7 years. Some of the most important criteria that should be considered when evaluating these products are portability, performance, and price. The MacBook Air is an interesting product, because it isn’t top of the line in any of these criteria. In fact, it has a balance of all three that have made it one of the top selling products of recent. Of course no laptop is made to run the same, but that is what makes this specific different than others.
Firstly, Apple provides sound customer services. Even though Apple is making its products simple and easy to use in order to favour various types of users, it is still a challenge to get use to most of the function in a high-tech product. For instance, many of us own an
Remark that setting up hardware and installing software is much easier on a Mac. If your time has value, you'll be interested in knowing that configuring files and resolving problems with peripherals are virtually unknown on a Mac; they
to reflect its shift to products that go beyond computers. With its string of successes and escalating stock price, its corporate image continues to rise. Next is positioning, Steve Jobs learned how to create effective branding platforms. Gone are the numbers and letters that caused confusion from the Apple II and III days. Instead there are the i-Platform products that are neatly designed in an attractive package to hook up with the Internet. They all begin with “i” and end with a single syllable word such as iPod, iPhone, iPad, iMac, iTunes, iBooks, and iCloud. For higher-end computers, Apple uses platform names such as the MacPro, MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacbookPro. For OSX operating systems, Apple has been using the names of ferocious cats. All products use what he call a combine strategy. They incorporate the Apple corporate brand and prominently display the Apple logo facing inward toward the user and outward to market them to the outside world. Each product has its own identity with little or no overlap between the models, thereby minimizing any cannibalization. Since products are unique to Apple, they give the company a huge positioning advantage. Besides that, products use the highest quality materials and industrial design with finishing details only found in finely crafted products even though they are mass-produced. The hardware and software
Apple was definitely “thinking different” when it created the new addition to the Macintosh family, the iMac. It’s creative design and refreshing departure from the computer industry standard of boring beige boxes is gaining this marvel many optimistic reviews. This new personal computer, which is pronounced eye-Mac –the “i” stands for Internet, combines the computer and the monitor in one unit making it, in effect, an updated version of the original one-piece Macintosh. That makes the iMac ideal for people who want to conserve desk space.
Up to this time, computers were used mostly for large corporations and scientific use. Their vision was to create a ready-to-use computer for personal use. Only about 200 Apple I’s were sold, but when the follow on Apple II came along in the year 1977, consumers latched on and the product sold in the millions. With the Apple II, Jobs and Wozniak changed the way humans view computers. They were the first to show the world that computers could be a consumer item, and with this, the rise in digital consumption really started to take off. In 1984, Apple introduced the first Macintosh – the first mouse driven computer with a graphic interface. Not only was the Macintosh a technological advancement, but at 2500 dollars, it was the cheapest consumer option by far. This shows that at the beginning years of Apple, they were not a company that pushed for overhyped consumption of their products. Their purpose was to supply the average consumer with a groundbreaking product at a price they could afford. Furthermore, in the 1980’s, America had just begun an era of mass consumption. Ronald Reagan was inducted into office, and he immediately made tax cuts to help spurn economic development. People began to consume things like mad. Everything from cars to tv to houses, greed was good in the 1980’s and people would buy things to show status more than ever before. However, the typical computer
Windows based computers are cheaper, and more easily upgradeable than Macintosh systems. The reason for this being that Apple has exclusive rights to the hardware made specifically for their computers. Windows based system hardware is produced by literally thousands of manufacturers. This, of course, means competition, which in turn lowers prices. Macintosh systems are sold (primarily) as a whole system, meaning that the consumer ends up with what Apple has decided should be included in the system. Windows systems, however, can be built to the consumers needs, or by the consumer themselves. They could select which component would be best for them for the price they would pay for it. Most importantly, with a Windows based system consumers could select what components they wish to have based on what they might pay for them.
Overall I would recommend the Macbook Pro to anyone. It has so many more great features other than the portability, battery, the multi purpose mouse, and the speed/ performance of the programs. I would recommend to them that upgrading to the matte screen would be worth the extra pretty pennies.
It is a well-known fact that Microsoft is the most marketed operating system. This can be explained by the decision by Microsoft to design and sell its operating system to other computer manufacturers. This meant making it compatible with other hardware. Apple did not choose to do this, making its operating systems only compatible with its own computer hardware (Derene, 2009). In a website article called “HongKait.Com: Online Tips for Designers and Bloggers” Nina Krimly states statistics that identify Microsoft as controlling 91% of the market while Apple Mac around 5%. The exclusivity of Apple did not make it popular among those who used the computer to work on projects both at home and at work in the past ...
In the releasing of our new product we will need to exercise precise and careful observation of all incoming feedback channels. We will need to respond responsibly to any negative responses or defects that may occur. We plan on taking the information we receive and use it to improve our current and future products. We will need to also observe and actively participate in our factories supply chain management activities and operations. By instituting the correct decisions and observation methods regarding our evaluation and control of our new Mac computer and manufacturing factories we feel that Apple will be able to reach new heights.
...ucial part in our everyday lives. Yes, students can choose a MacBook Pro or Air over a PC, even a Chrome Book, but for students looking for budget-friendly computers (trust me, there's thousands of them) I bet you that they will choose a Windows 8 or Windows 7 laptop.
