Jesus and his disciples were loathed by their contemporaries. As a consequence of their efforts to introduce a new message to the world they were executed, except for John who was boiled in oil and then exiled. They died the most hated men on

The teaching of Jesus Christ is hard for some cultures to grasp. Humanity is prone to question everything. How people use their worldview plays a key role. Most Christian accept the Gospel message at it full value and yet with teaching from a church they only accept part of the message. Now it seems like progressively that people are turning away from God. Since people cannot see Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and God they just suppress prier teaching from the Bible. In some cultures the Bible is looked at as a taboo.
Many times Jesus showed his love for mankind and even had that love and compassion spread through to his twelve disciples. Jesus taught them the ways that were needed to be followers of Christ and they were true to these methods. Jesus was the true symbol for love and compassion, which is why people had a hard time understanding and believing that he was the true son of God. People thought that Jesus was supposed to be the one who was to condemn the sinners and bring back judgment. But little did they know that Jesus did not come back to condemn the world but to save it from their own mistakes. Pharisees tried really hard to try and get Jesus to slip up so they could charge him with anything they could find, because they did not believe that he was who he said he was. An example of this was whenever Jesus was near the Mount of Olives and the Pharisees tried to stone a woman who was an
We can see the birth of Jesus in Matthew (Matt 1:18-25) (Matt 2:1-12), Luke (Luke 2:1-2) and John (John1:1-18). Both Matthew and Luke tell us that Jesus’ birth place was in Bethlehem in Judea in the time of King Herod of Judea and Emperor Augustine of the Roman Empire. The gospels tell us that Jesus was born in a stable under an inn (Luke 2:7). This is unlikely because Bethlehem was the birthplace of David, who was Joseph’s ancestor. This means that there may have been a house with his cousins or extended family there. The Hebrew word for inn can also be described as ‘the upper room’ and in traditional Jewish houses, there was an upper room where the family stayed and underneath this was the place where the animals were kept. This could have been seen as the stable under the ‘inn’. Now because of the census performed by Emperor Augustine the Jews had to travel to their ancestral home that meant that the house Mary and Joseph were staying at could have been full, so the upper room was full, making the only available room for the baby to be born in the stable below. Jesus was thought to be traditionally born in 1AD after the Monk Dionysus Exigus tried to calculate the year, from the Birth of Jesus, by taking away the reigns of Kings. Unfortunately Exigus made a few errors and Jesus is now thought to be born a few years BC. We know that in Matt 2:1 and Matt2:16 (Luke 1:55) that King Herod the Great was the ruler of Judea. From Roman records we know that King Herod died in 4BC near the feast of the Passover. This means that the earliest time Jesus could have been born was early 4BC. Herod plays an integral part in determining Jesus birth date because it also could explain the Bethlehem Star, which we...
Each of these women either had kept the covenant or had entered into the covenant by an act of faith. Their names remind us also that the covenant is a covenant of grace. They're not moral saints but forgiven sinners (Balmer 171).
...o Pilate, JesusÆ main enemy, or trouble, was the Roman Empire. Their religion was polytheistic; they had, among many others, a god of war, (Mars), a god of wine, (Bacchus), and a goddess of love, (Venus). They also believed that their Emperor, at the time Caesar, was a living God. This included Jesus, one of his titles being "King of the Jews". At the time of JesusÆ death, this number was sizeable, and as the early church grew, after the resurrection, the followers grew in number too. Literally. All of the people who attended these secret meetings, to tell or listen to the tales of Jesus Christ, were disciples. They were risking their lives to spread the good news. Stephen was viciously stoned to death after his great speech at the Sanhedrin (Acts 7), and Peter was crucified. There are many examples of modern day disciples around. Oscar Romero was the Roman Catholic Archbishop of El Salvador. Endangering your own life by fighting oppression, injustice, and going up against bigger powers, or giving your life to helping others. There are still some people today who take the faith as seriously as the first Christians do, but not many. TodayÆs society is too materialistic.
One aspect of his teaching that brought adverse attention to him was his repeated assertion that he was the Son of God sent to the Earth to redeem humankind. This was in direct violation of Jewish law. For this he was condemned to die. Betrayed by one of his apostles, Judas, Jesus did not resist his imprisonment he saw it as the fulfillment of his purpose.
John was therefore an impetuous person, who demonstrated immense temperament behaviors together with his brother James. John can therefore be described as an individual who illustrated intolerance and selfishness. Ones they were selected to serve as Christ’s disciples, these two brothers continued to portray rude and impetuous behaviors. One incident was during the time when Jesus was nearing his crucifixion that he planned to go to Jerusalem. While in Samaria en-route Jerusalem, Jesus was not received and John, together with his brother James, requested for powers to burn the Samaritans through fire from heaven.
Throughout the bible believers and nonbelievers are challenged not to blindly accept religious dogma. A fact is something that can be proven true. The purpose of this research paper is to adopt the biblical challenge to prove all things. It is the responsibility
John the Apostle, one of the brothers who gained the nickname "Sons of Thunder", was Jesus' favorite apostle to him. John was there when they feel asleep in the garden, which he takes harshly to that he did, and he also was at the foot of the cross when Jesus was being crucified. The Romans exiled him to the island of Patmos when he was about the age of 80 for the reason that he had converted many people even when he was in jail. The Romans tried to execute John before this time by boiling him in a pot of oil, but God delivered him for the scorching oil and he got out of the pot without a burn on him. Even Roman guards who witnessed the miracle believed and then converted.
When Jesus asked his disciples about what people thought about him, they answered that some considered Jesus to be e prophet, some - John the Baptist. But Jesus wanted his disciples to understand his mission, the reason why God brought him to Earth. That is why it was important for him to make sure that people realize who he is and that his sayings are vital for the whole mankind. Jesus was the Messiah, the anointed one, above all other prophets. He was sent to suffer for the all human beings and the reasons why his suffering was necessary are described in Mark's Gospel 8:27-9:1.
God created life to be everlasting, as well as marriage. For generations, Christians have been concerned that seeking for a marital partner was against Gods wishes and would jeopardize their relationship with the lord. God created the world with the intentions of all marrying. “When our lord presented Eve to Adam he intended a marital relationship to be a blessing for his couple and the future generations that would be born through them”. Marriage is a lifelong commitment and that is the way God wanted it to be. God commends marriage, but frowns upon divorces.
