character, and she was the one making the effort in striving for Macbeth's success. Lady
Lady Macbeth has a very important role in the play “Macbeth”. She is a key player in the demise of Macbeth as well as her own. She is known for her brutality and thirst for power. Her failed attempts to abandon her humanity and insanity caused by guilt are also memorable moments from Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth seemed as though she was just a side character to her husband, but towards the end of the play, her own storyline was fully realized. She constantly Lady Macbeth is the original leading lady and one of the most notable characters in all of literature.
Throughout Tennessee William’s play “A Streetcar Named Desire,” Blanche Dubois exemplified several tragic flaws. She suffered from her haunting past; her inability to overcome; her desire to be someone else; and from the cruel, animalistic treatment she received from Stanley. Sadly, her sister Stella also played a role in her downfall. All of these factors ultimately led to Blanche’s tragic breakdown in the end.
“Tell me her father's name and 'tis enough; / For I will board her, though she chide as loud/ As thunder when the clouds in autumn crack” (Shakespeare Iii 93-95). Larisa Oleynik stars as Bianca Stratford conveying the necessary sweetness and innocence required to seem the opposite of her sister. She also translates the shallowness of Bianca. “If you affect him, sister, here I swear/ I'll plead for you myself, but you shall have him” (Shakespeare IIi 14-15).
...amily she finds the true meaning of being brave and saves her family (“Brave”). I like this kind of movie instead of a man being the brave and independent one now the woman is. These are the kind of fairy tales that need to be told so that women do not feel the need to be weak and dependent on other people. If fairy tales slowly become more realistic then I think they are a good thing but teaching women to not be strong or if their not a size 0 and gorgeous, well that in my eyes is not okay.
The main character in the film Black Swan, twenty-eight year old female Nina Sayers, displays signs of numerous disorders through her abnormal behavior. Nina’s life is consumed by her occupation: professional ballerina/dancer. Nina resides with her mother and rarely socializes with others. She has difficulty concentrating, is restless, irritable, suffers from muscle tension, and sleep disturbances from nightmares. Nina also feels very uncomfortable in social and intimate situations. She appears to be unable to successfully interact with those around her. The interaction that Nina has with her fellow dancers appears to be strained and superficial. Nina exhibits behavior that indicates she views all other dancers as competition instead of potential comrades’ or friends. Being very introverted and unable to share any part of herself with those around her, even her mother, who appears to be the only person that has been remotely close to Nina, causes her to seek companionship with parts of herself instead of healthy relationships with others. Nina exhibits signs of generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and paranoid personality disorder through these abnormal behaviors.
I am credible to discuss this topic, as I am an avid film watcher and have been fascinated by Meryl’s acting ability for a long time. Meryl Streep is the greatest actress of our time, and arguably, ever—due in part to her impressive list of roles in television, film, and theatre, and to her seamless transitions from one vastly different genre to the next, but it hasn’t always been that easy for Meryl. Her climb to the top spans decades and encompasses over 60 films, both good and bad.
Blanche Dubois the main character of the play, was an English teacher in Mississippi. She presents herself as a very prim, proper, and prudent person. She once proudly told her sister Stella that her name in French meant white woods. Blanche Dubois is also overly concerned with her appearance, accessories, bathing and age. She was very disturbed by the light, and usually preferred to be in the dark. Many believe it was to prevent people from noticing her real age. Deep inside she was hurt and destroyed. All of this pain was caused by the death of the love of her life. She was married to a young man named Allan, and they loved each other very much. Until one day Blanche found out that Allan was sleeping with another man. Once she confessed to him she knew his secret he committed suicide. Ever since, Blanches’ life was never the same again.
The acting and directing balanced perfectly making the performance incredibly enjoyable. Alyssa did an excellent job in putting a spin to the character Ophelia to life. However, unlike the character Ophelia in Hamlet, she is not naive or innocent. Her courage and sensibility makes her brave in her adventures of battling the zombies. Moreover, Juliet falling in love with Lady Macbeth was a heartwarming addition to the play. Zeralene portrayal of Juliet seemed almost identical to Juliet from the well known play Romeo and Juliet. Juliet is rebellious, intelligent, a good fighter, and captured the audience's hearts. On the other hand, Lady Macbeth is assertive and easily picks fights. Maggie Wentworth personated Lady Macbeth with lots of ambition and strength. I was
...th of the Queen at the wedding represents Snow White’s successful passage into the next stage of life as a young woman. Secondly, it represents the triumph of good over evil in her spiritual journey with Christ. Therefore, the death of the stepmother proves that Snow White overcomes temptation, becomes closer to God, rejects evil, and passes into womanhood. The Queen is a form of evil or the devil in this story because she dies from dancing in “red-hot shoes” and this refers to the fiery depths of hell in the afterlife (Hallett, Martin, and Barbara Karasek 153).
Which is normally a role taken on by male characters. Christina Leon Alfar argues that, "Lady Macbeths 'evil ' is ... an ideologically inscribed notion that is often linked in our literary tradition to strong female characters who seek power, who reject filial loyalty as prior to self-loyalty, and who pursue desire in all its forms - romantic, adulterate, authoritarian, and even violent." This is shown, as Lady Macbeth is ambitious and successful with her plot to kill Duncan. She can also be seen as evil when she calls upon evil spirits and uses language associated with the supernatural. I don’t agree with what these critics say. I believe that Lady Macbeth is indeed ruthless and very ambitious, but many people take on roles, they aren’t necessarily suited for, to gain
Lady Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s most popular and daunting female characters. As Macbeth’s wife, her role is very important in Macbeth’s rise and fall from royalty. In Shakespearean times, females were considered as feeble and unimportant beings whose only use was to give birth, and for their looks. They were not by any means equal to men, nor intelligent. Though in this play, Lady Macbeth is portrayed as the biggest impact in her husband’s life. In her role, she uses her status in Dunsinane to gain power, stay sane enough to support Macbeth, and fails while their relationship falls apart. Everything about Lady Macbeth makes her the perfect villain for the play, mostly because of her capability to manipulate anyone that is around her.
