Osama Bin Laden (OBL) hated the U.S. because he believed that the western influences would ruin Islam. He disliked U.S. support of neighboring countries. Osama bin Laden was a very religious man and he deeply respected Islam and despised of any person or nation who he felt disrespected his religion. He especially hated the United States because of past actions. The ideas OBL had of America was the U.S. being materialistic, Islam hating westerners. One of the main reasons he hated the U.S. was that their troops were stationed in Saudi Arabia and he thought were nothing but non-Muslim infidels to him. In Islamic, tradition states that there should not be two religions in Arabia. OBL didn’t see the U.S. troops as a defending force for the Saudis,
Osama bin Laden was an adversary of the West for years and it was known to the whole world. Unfortunately, he took it a little further by having two planes fly into the World Trade Center, one into the Pentagon and another plane possibly for the White House. As we all know, this is the unforgettable day of September 11, 2001. Thousands of Americans were innocently murdered that day and in our own country by a terrorist organization. The United States of America would not stand for this and rapidly sought out Osama Bin Laden for what he had done to us. This is the day that caused the United States to accelerate the search and destruction efforts of bin Laden. Soon after September 11th, the United States was very involved in Afghanistan in trying to find him.
9/11 was one of the United States biggest disasters. Killing nearly 3,000 people including the 19 hijackers that hijacked the planes that crashed in to the two world trade center towers. Many things could have been done differently on the day of September 11, 2001, that could have saved many lives, including the lives of many fire fighters, NYPD officers, and thousands of civilians. The biggest thing that could have been done to stop the attacks is if airport security was much more advanced and more careful with who got on the planes and what they had on them.
Osama bin Laden refers to his reasons as facts. In his first fact he addresses the issue of the United States presence in Holy Middle Eastern places. He believes that the United States is there for the wealth and not only to harass Iraq, but other Muslim countries. Osama bin Laden must have forgotten that in Iraq invading Kuwait it was a breech of International Law and had that not happened the United States presence would not have r...
After the terrorists attacks on September eleventh, President Bush had to prepare himself to address the nation with intensions to calm the United States citizens and give them some answers. The President had many speeches in the week after this happened and some words he used were not as concise as they could have been. These words and phrases are his attempts to comfort the United States people but only anger the terrorists he has declared war with. In a critique of Bushs speeches in the weeks after the tragedy, it is written, He called for revenge, called Osama bin Laden the prime suspect and asked for him dead or alive. (Max 1) Using such strong words gives an impression that Bush is overly confident and jumping to conclusions. Using revenge would imply retaliation and in result would come a war. Bush seems so sure that bin Laden is responsible when, still as of this day, he has no hard evidence. Asking for him dead or alive is probably the first threat he made. The only accomplishment Bush got out of making these accusations and threats was making the American people nervous. The citizens of the United States may not agree with the decisions he is making for the country. Bush needed another chance to redeem himself and comfort his people. A committee of speechwriters and George Bush spent time writing the speech that was given on September twentieth. In this speech, the President made more sense and brought his ideas together more clearly, with phrases and topics that would calm the citizens of the United States.
Bin Laden begins his letter to the American people by naming the Right to Self-Defense as a justification for 9/11. He invokes Self-Defense by listing a number of grievances: American attacks on Palestine, Russian
Stated by President Bush, “Americans should not expect one battle but a lengthy campaign, unlike any other we have ever seen.” Bush launched the War in Afghanistan to find and to bring to justice Osama bin Laden, head of the al-Qaeda organization that launched the 9/11 attack.
Bin Laden had never had any relation whatsoever with the United States, or with any American officials, but since the 70´s he had a strong dislike for America. He would tell his friends and family to not buy any American goods unless it was an emergency; and in the beginning of the 80´s he started talking about a battle with the United States that was to take place very soon. (A Biography of Osama Bin Laden...
On September 11, 2001 the world stopped for a moment as two planes flew into the white house. The Pentagon was also hit that day, and a hero saved a plane that was supposed to hit the White House. Americans all over the country were in shock, some knew their loved ones were in the Twin Towers, and hoped that some could make it out alive. Some did, many didn’t, so many precious lives were taken away from innocent humans who thought it was just going to be a normal day at the office. Children are growing up without fathers and mothers, who they will never meet. Whoever did this, needs to be put away, or killed. The man who planned it, Osama Bin Laden was killed on May 2, 2011, 10 years after the terror attacks on the World Trade center that killed many Americans, innocent Americans. Osama bin Laden’s killing was just, and he deserved what he got, there is no doubt in my mind he got what he deserved.
Above all, Osama Bin Laden was a man that left many devastated yet wanted to make a statement. Many say that violence does not solve anything, but Osama though otherwise because he believed that they only way to get what you want, something that forces it has to be done. On the other hand, the connections between people can influence not only then but everyone else because they are the ones that do not have a deal. All the things that happened in history involving Osama was controversial and immense. One stated that if something was controversial, it was important. The importance of all these events was that America learned what to do in the future. It was what America was able to do in the most traumatizing situations.
The War On Terror. It is a name that brings many strong thoughts and emotions to mind for Americans still to this today. It is has been Americas longest war, most expensive war, and a deadly conflict. All in all, the Iraqi War from 2003 to 2011 brought a cost of 500,000 lives from civilians to militants (Vergano 1). Among the U.S. army alone it is estimated that around 900,000 veterans have had some form of injury ranging from PTSD to amputations (Ruis 1). Not to mention, many experts say once all war reparations have been paid the war will cost upwards of three trillion dollars (Broder 1). That means when the math is done, if the war cost were to be split evenly among all American households, than every family in the U.S. would have to pay $75,000 (Auken 1). When President Barack Obama was campaigning in 2008 he once argued that through various taxes the Iraqi War (2003-2011) was and is costing each America household over $100 a month (Broder 1). With such catastrophic cost and tolls of the thousands of innocent lives where can the foundations for such a war effort begin?
I chose this topic because I want to learn more about Osama’s life why he wanted to commit the war on terrorism against the western theory of how it is super bad at all times. From what
Al Qaeda is leading by Osama bin laden that was born and grown up in Saudi Arabia; his family was very rich and respected by Saudi Royal household and the public. Osama Bin Laden was on the FBI’s most wanted list for 10 years. He was responsible for the deaths of thousands of American soldiers and American citizens, as well as the 9/11 terrorist attack. The American Special Forces have been trying to track him down for a long time and have not succeeded, until May 1st, 2011. The mission that killed Bin Laden was called “Operation Neptune Spear” and that mission changed American history forever.
Osama Bin Laden was Al Qaeda's leader for many years until he was killed by The United States. It may have well been the most important step in the war against Al Qaeda. When the US killed the leader of Al Qaeda it created a large opportunity for the US and its allies to capitalize. (“Robert Pape 2”) This was a major changing point that weakened Al Qaeda immensely.
“Some Islamic religious teachers especially have urged believers to launch a "holy war" to force society to obey the religious rules laid out in the Muslim holy book, the Koran” (“What is Terrorism?”). Because some Islamic religious teachers are teaching people that they should kill people for their religion I think the United States has a reason to be weary of the muslims in our country. “Osama bin Laden (c. 1957; the man blamed for planning the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon), have called on Muslims to kill all Christians and Jews.” (“Religious Terrorism.”). Osama bin Laden was a very powerful man.
