Coney Island is a place of great cultural innovations. From the variety of amusement parks, the powerful influence on art, and the freedom you got when you arrived, all changed the culture of America. The amusement parks brought a new form of entertainment. The freedoms and relaxation provided a getaway for young people for cheap prices. The powerful art that came from the inspiration of the Coney Island attractions also provided a way for the word to get out and people to see why they should come. The cultural innovations brought by the establishments, freedoms, and art made this resort one amazing place to go to if you were young.
Among the many activities that attracted young men and women to vacation in Coney Island. One of the main attractions were the many amusement parks, “The most striking expression of the changing character of American Culture, however, lies in the new amusement parks that were developed at the turn of the century.” These attractions turned Coney Island into “a symbol

not only of fun and frolic but also of major changes in American manners and morals.” The kinds of rides there, were, thrill rides, water rides, and sometimes your basic tea cup ride. These rides were designed to be fun and provide entertainment for the people in the parks. Young people would have loved these rides because they were new and exciting. They were something that they could not experience many other places, and it just so happened to be cheaper to go to Coney Island and enter the parks and young people sure enjoy cheap things! Amusement parks are a good form of entertainment for young humans. Along with the building of the new amusements parks and roller coasters, they built a new water slide, which was a big hit to the young men and women. This was such a big attraction, as well as the beach, for the men because they could watch the women in more revealing bathing suits. Also, they were looser fitting and more free than the bathing suits had been before the turn of the century. Young women were able to show off their bodies, be comfortable, and be more scandalous by picking up their bathing dresses and showing off their butts to the viewers. Furthermore, the clothing was not as formal on Coney Island. It was more relaxed and comfortable for the young men and women at this time. This also allowed the idea of the young people coming to Coney Island because they were attracted there for either the sight of girls in more revealing clothes or the fact that it was a cheap vacationing spot. The women were happy because they finally had a place that they could go to show off their bodies and not get any criticism because that was normal there. The idea that showing off more of one’s body was very attractive aspect to the men and women, which helped drive them to Coney Island. Coney Island is known to be a place where “visitors were temporarily freed from normative demands.” Young men and women save up money to get away on vacation to Coney Island not because it was cheap, but because of the freedom they got from being away from the real world and enjoy their vacations.
It is a place with many social opportunities, “…Unattached young men and women easily struck up acquaintanceships for the day or evening.” Coney Island is encouraged to be an intimate place for single young people that come to the Island to vacation because of the holiday atmosphere. The Island’s beaches are also very relaxing for its visitors. The beach is a place where you can relax and be yourself. On the beach, you can take pictures, be with your friends, and you can even find a new relationship there. Whether that relationship is as friends or it is as something more. Coney Island is full of places to find freedom from the outside world and relax and enjoy your
life. Art had an uprising after all the reconstruction with the amusement parks and the resort. This also brought many new artists, writers, and critics to the island, “…the popular resort emerged as the unofficial capital of the new mass culture and aroused special interest among artists, writers, and critics.” (87) This could attract the young men and women who are interested in presuing a carreer in art or music. Since there was so much inspiration in and around Coney Island, it was a perfect spot for these new artists to go to get ideas for new works of arts. Also, because the art coming from these young people was new, it got around the states faster showing more young people what Coney was about and incising them to come there. One of the major paintings of the time was a depiction of a Mardi Gras celebration done there, in July. These new upbringings to the Island brought interest in the young people that came to visit. Young men and women were able to experience the relaxation of the island, and participate in the different cultures and create new works of art to share with the world. Coney Island was the center for some great cultural innovations. The amusement parks there brought entertainment and joy to the young people, while the roller coasters brought a new kind of thrill for cheap prices. Then after a long day at the parks, head down to the beach for a relaxing night or go there in the middle of the day and join in all the festivities that were going on that day. Finally, the art that they made about Coney Island showed the young people what they were missing. Make them want to go so they too can know the fun that the other people they knew were experiencing. Yes, Coney Island was not the best place to go when you were young first thought about, but after going there, the young people always wanted to go back.
A basic of Disney theme parks is the Main Street USA zone. This section features highly in all of the parks, usually coming right after the entrance. Key services like Guest Relations are located in this section, inside the "City Hall" (HK Disney Source, 2014). There are a number of elements to the Main Street, USA exhibit, and these will be discussed along with the history of Main Street USA in this paper. In particular, how the different elements of Main Street USA work together are covered. The concept has proven to be long-lasting, even across cultures, because of its magical portrayal of idealized American life, which draws heavily on Walt Disney's own childhood experiences.
All in all, Coney Island brought different perspectives on the changing culture in America at the turn of the century. Now men and women were able express themselves in ways they never could have before, technological advances were well on their way into the modern era, and the morals people had changed drastically compared to the Victorian era. Baseball players chose to sacrifice their careers by fighting for their own country for many years. Over 4,500 baseball players traded their baseball uniforms for a military uniform during the time of World War 2. Throughout the years, baseball has changed how americans acted in war, and how baseball has gotten people through tough times. Over the years, baseball players have gone to war, won a war, and while they were gone organizations like the AAGPBL started, and many of the baseball rules have changed. Also things like the Black Sox Scandal happened during the World War 1.
One very interesting point that Peiss makes is that there is now a market for leisure time. This market included such activities as attending shows at a nickelodeon, riding the trolley, and, especially in Manhattan, spending the day at Coney Islan...
My favorite part about the Island is the activities and most of them are very exciting. When you first get there you learn about turtles in a game called turtle hurdles and the education around it is that throw away your trash and you will save many species of the oceanic life. You also are able to do kayaking and snorkeling and if the waters and good and not choppy you’ll see a lot of fish, and on the last day you will have a kayaking race if you don’t want to kayak you can run. Something that changed my life there about see the world is the trust walk and you put on a blindfold and walk for about five to eight minutes and when you are finished you will talk about why you did it and what it meant to you. These are the activities and there is a fish lab, a bird lab, and squid dissection you might think it is gross or it might not be. The activities are spread throughout the time on the camp so have
Disneyland marked the onset of theme parks in the nation, which was carved out of a fantasy tale and it has been the leader for 60 years. And, there was virtually no competition to the attraction quotient that attracted people and tourists to visit the theme park.

Personally, I would have enjoyed the recreational side of the Coney Island. The beach and other recreational areas such as seasonal feasts and festivals. The reason behind my love for these areas is that it would help me to unwind and relax after a long day’s work or a week of many
Long Island also known as a diverse community to many people helps many of us come more aware of other cultures and religions. Having a combination of different religions and life living together makes us more known to the world. We as an island surrounded of millions of people don’t appreciate the unique and wonderful things that are being given to us. Others like tourists or people from all around the world might not feel the same way though. In many nations around the world people don’t get to experience the social interactions and bandings one might get to feel and understand.
Times Square finds itself in a city whose complexity in culture and spontaneity in character, often leaving its visitors as mere spectators, contrasts sharply with the perspective of an organized tourist industry. However, the creation of some destinations from scratch, completely repurposed districts, and the organization of the chaotic life in New York into something safe and consumable have no doubt made Times Square a place to visit as well as ridding it of many neg...

The second I stepped foot onto the amusement park’s property, I could feel the magic swirling all around me. As I walked through the crowds of people young and old wearing Disney apparel and Mickey Mouse ears, everything seemed so enchanting: the cheerful music, the twinkly lights on all of the buildings, and the stores that could have been from my favorite Disney movies. Walking along the streets, I took pictures of everything around me because I did not want to forget a single detail; I took pictures of the vibrant yellow, red, and pink flowers that lined the streets, the buildings with intricate details and designs, and the massive roller coasters that glided so swiftly on their tracks. The air was filled with heavenly scents of sweet churros, and I had to get one; it was delectable. Everything at Disneyland seemed perfect and like it was out of a movie. Even as I was about to leave, I got drawn back in; spectacular, bright, colorful fireworks started bursting right over my head, and I could not bring myself to go. My first visit to Disneyland was truly enchanting and magical. At the time I thought no other vacation could
