If a country is lacking in precious gems, oil, trees, rich soil, and other natural resources than they would spend large sums of their money importing goods. A nation that is lush in oil, rich soil, trees, and other would be making more money. This is because they would have a large quantity of exported rather than imported goods. 2. How can life expectancy and literacy rates affect the quality of labor in the economy? a. Health and education are two of the most important factors to a countries economy. If the civilians are living long lives than they will become more skilled in their field of work, resulting in the products being in better quality. If most people died before middle age than younger people would take up the job without any experience or teacher. When the majority of the citizens are uneducated, then there is less chance of advancing to a high position. Education is needed so that innovation can be taken place and without the proper schooling most people will be stuck in jobs that don’t require literacy.
