I started my field placement at the Edward Village Hotel in North York on September 6th 2016. During my 150 hours working at Edward Village I was giving the opportunity to work and gain experience in both the housekeeping and front desk department. While working in the housekeeping department I had many different job duties, I would do room checks, fold laundry and sometimes help with cleaning the rooms. Within my short experience at the front desk I have learned a lot that will help me in the tourism industry. My job duties were helping with the guest needs, cleaning and organizing the front desk area and lastly answering and transferring phone calls.
Goals while working at the hotel I set two goals that I focused on to complete

My first goal was easy to complete. In order to reach my goal I had to ask my fellow co-workers and supervisor what to look for when checking a room. I also had to watch them to visually learn how it’s done. For my first goal I believe I was successful fairly quickly at completing it. After only a few times of being overlooked and accommodated by my supervisor, I was able to find the right things to look for and confidently be able to complete the check by myself.
My second goal was to help my co-workers cleaning a room without having to ask questions about the cleaning procedures My second goal was successfully completed by visually learning and writing down the procedures of how to clean the rooms. This was a harder goal to complete, while working along side my co-workers it was hard to communicate, many spoke little to no English so it became a challenge when looking for clarification., I relied mostly on visually watching what they did to lean myself. then I would write down what in saw in my notebook to remember the correct procedures.

I never had an issue and everyone was friendly. Although sometimes I felt left out or unwelcomed due to the language barrier, they mostly talked among themselves and did little to try and encloud me in a conversation.
During my time at Edward Village the co-workers were fairly supportive towards each other while working at the front desk. My co-workers and supervisor were very encouraging when I was learning the complicated reservation system like Opera, they answered all my questions and were very patient with me. As far as training, while working in the housekeeping department I was given vary little training with the duties I was assigned to do. Many induvial working in the housekeeping department speak little to no English, it was difficult to ask questions or even learn properly because of the barrier. Although when I had the opportunity to experience front desk department. It was a lot easier for me not only because they were fluent in English but they had the patient’s and took the time to train me properly. Showed me what to do then shadowed me while I tried myself. They were always there if I needed clarification or help with
Throughout Marilynne Robinson’s works, readers are often reminded of themes that defy the status quo of popular ideas at the time. She explores transience and loneliness, amongst other ideas as a way of expressing that being individual, and going against what is deemed normal in society is acceptable. Robinson utilizes traditional literary devices in order to highlight these concepts.
When given the option to choose a life of transience or permanence, what does Ruth decide and why?
"Achievement was all very well, but it was the process, not the goal, that was most important" (Sotomayor 92) – I live among these lines. You learn more over the process of your goal than the goal itself.
Nevertheless, the other members were very cordial. My family member introduced me to the other group members. I was introduced a relative who was there as a support figure. Again, appeared to not have any issue with my presence, they were ple...

It is a Tuesday night in San Marcos Texas, it is a bit chilly outside as I walk up and down the square looking for a section of bars I can observe. As I walked East on Hopkins street I stumbled upon two bars, Harpers Brick Oven Sports Pub and The Porch. Both bars were packed with what looked like a mix of native San Marcos residents, and college students. These two bars shed light on what the square is; a welcoming place with a carefree atmosphere for all people who call San Marcos home to enjoy.
I have lost track of how long I’ve been doing this goal but I know that it has not been going well. However, I suppose that depends on perspective. As far as doing the goal goes, I’ve not been successful, but as far as learning from this experience, I have been extremely successful. I was supposed to be accomplishing a SMART goal. A SMART goal is almost like any other goal except that it is Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. These five attributes are supposed to make any other goal better. They’re supposed to make any other goal more likely to be accomplished. So far, however, my goal has hardly been accomplished. My goal was to learn American Sign Language through watching the ASL discs I own every week until the end
During high school my teachers lectured my classmates and I on goal making. I specifically remember my health teacher using the SMART method; this says goals must be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound. Even though I had a great resource to make smart goals for myself, I never took the time to construct a game plan. Entering the vast new world of college, I want to improve myself by keeping several goals in mind each month, week, and day. My process starts by creating intellectual, psycho-emotional, physical, and social goals to work towards in my four years of college.
The first philosophy “One Minute Goal Setting” makes tasks assigned to the individual clear and precise. The manager first expresses goals that need to be accomplished. Once an agreement is made, each goal is written down in 250 words or less. It is strongly held that it should take no more than a minute to read. You should reinforce each goal throughout the day. Also take time to look at your performance and see if your behavior matches your goals.

“Home is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends (Robot check).” A place becomes a home for me when I am around all the things that I enjoy and love. For example, when I am around everyone that I love, I enjoy a peaceful environment and the beautiful landscapes around me. The interpretation of home for me is not a physical thing that I see or that I can remember or even certain thoughts that I can relate, but it is a sensation that overcomes me when I envision being in the comfort of my own home. However, I know that this is a feeling that is calming to my soul and it quietly reassures me that I genuinely belong in a place where I can be free from people constantly judging me.
Once you set your goal, you need to start getting more specific. It moves from a dream into reality. Make a plan, it must move from your mind to a piece of paper. Write down the things that you need to do. What do you want to achieve? What will be your life when you achieve your goal? Things that you need to be done. Things that you want to learn more about your goal. Qualities that you admire in others. Improves the qualities you have. Habits that you want to stop and habits that you want to improve.
“My learning experience, things I can achieve, the decisions I make, the people I meet and befriend and the mistakes I make tells me who I am now and who I will become.” As a child, this was a belief that my parents taught me and, so I grew up with it and became very devoted to follow it. My parents always said to me “Learn all you can.” They also taught me that the decisions I make will help me to build my own destination, and the way I treat others will say the person I am. Until this day, I continue to believe, apply and follow that belief. Today, Hospitality Management is my number one career choice I have chosen to work for the rest of my life. In many different ways, Hospitality Management reflects my third, fourth and fifth of
I must say that this experience was stressing yet so productive. I have learned so many things even it’s just less than for a month staying here. I learned to value my time efficiently. As what I observed from the employees in my department, they are very passionate to their work and they do not waste time. This is one of the things that I really admire and I think I learned from them, since time is very precious for every person practice of time management is indeed helpful for me. I learned to set my priorities first and use my time efficiently. I’ve been in different kinds of work but most of the time I do clerical work. Since the division I was assigned is strongly confidential, they just give some clerical work to
