The race of the 45th presidency has been interesting to say the least. The presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have shown some similarities and numerous differences. The views of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are expected to be different. Their differences are what makes the candidate a Republican or Democratic nominee. Donald Trump represents the Republican Party and Secretary Clinton represents the Democratic Party. One of the issues that will be mentioned in this paper is the candidate’s plans for taxation. National Security is another issue that both candidates feel strongly about. Another topic that both candidates will touch on is abortion. Both presidential candidates take different stances on the issues.

received a bachelor’s degree in economics. After college, Donald Trump followed in his late father’s footsteps and started a career in the real estate business. He took over his family’s business in 1971 and built the company into a massive empire today. Trump is a billionaire, real estate mogul, reality television personality, and now a republican candidate for the United States presidency. Trump moved his focus to politics in the early 2000s (biography.com). Hilary D. Clinton, 68, grew up in Park Ridge, Illinois. Unlike Trump, Clinton did not grow up in a extremely wealthy family. Clinton’s father was a successful fabric store owner, however the Clinton family was not poor but they were not the wealthiest of people. Hilary attended Yale Law School, graduating with honors. While attending Yale, she meet her husband Bill Clinton. After she graduated from Yale, Clinton went on to enroll at Yale Child Study Center, where she took courses on children and medicine. She completed one post-graduate year of study. Clinton has always been involved in politics, unlike Mr. Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton is a Women’s Rights Activist, U.S first lady, Secretary of State from 2009-2013, and now is our Democratic Party candidate (biography.com). Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have different views when it comes to federal taxation.
Trump has greatly expressed that the economy benefits from the larger businesses more than the smaller ones. He thinks taxes should be lower on the large businesses. By lowering the taxes on the wealthy, he believes it will cause them to put more money into our country. Trump believes jobs are fleeing our country because of the high taxes placed on businesses. He would like to cut taxes from 35% to 15%. Clinton is the complete opposite. Clinton believes our economy grows from the middle class. She thinks we should raise taxes on the higher class people and greatly decrease the taxes on the middle and lower classes. Clinton wants to invest in the smaller business rather than the large ones. Under Donald Trump’s tax reform all incomes are taken into account not just selected groups. Under Hillary Clinton’s plan we will actually have a tax increase of $176. Trump’s plan will create roughly about 2 million jobs, but Clinton’s will shrink the economy and we will lose around 300,000 jobs
(donaldjtrump.com). The candidates have also had several disagreements about National Security. Donald Trump approves the harsh interrogation techniques such as waterboarding on terrorism suspects (cfr.org). Donald Trump also wants to establish a commission on Radical Islam to identify and explain to the American public the core convictions and beliefs of Radical Islam (donaldjtrump.com). Secretary Clinton disagrees with Trump on the idea of waterboarding and special identification of Radical Islamics. She believes acts like these are discriminating to the people. Donald Trump would like to suspend immigration, on a temporary basis, to gain control of the terrorism problem we are facing (donaldjtrump.com). Secretary Clinton would like to maximize partnership with China in areas of common interests, Trump’s opinion differs from Clinton’s, in which he believes we should increase military presence in and around China (cfr.org). Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton both agree that we should rebuild the military(hillaryclinton.org). The United States should be the top military force in the world. This is the goal of both Trump and Clinton. Both candidates want to eliminate ,the Islamic terrorist group, ISIS. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton suggest we strengthen military allies with foreign countries to help us in the fight against ISIS. Both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton take different stances on the topic of abortion. Abortion is a touchy subject with most all Americans, whether you are for it or against. Donald Trump is a strong believer in pro-life and Hillary Clinton is pro-choice. Trump is absolutely against abortion. The only exceptions to his views are rape and incest. Trump believes that the unborn have fundamental rights to life (lifenews.com). Hillary Clinton believes the unborn person has no constitutional rights. Clinton supports late term abortion and partial-birth abortion. Clinton voted to endorse Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision which allows abortion for any reason (lifenews.com). Donald Trump is against using federal funds to perform abortions and Secretary Clinton believes the government should fund this procedure. The 45th presidency race of the United States will be one no one could ever forget. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have different views on most government issues. Trump’s tax plans focus more on the upper class and Clinton’s primary focus is the middle and lower class. National Security is another area where the candidates disagree greatly upon. Trump thinks we need special identification for Radical Islam and Secretary Clinton feels this is being discriminatory. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton do agree that we need to rebuild our military forces. Abortion is something both candidates feel strongly about. Trump is pro-life and Clinton is pro-choice. Clinton is for abortion no matter the reason and Trump feels only certain instances should be allowed abortion. Both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have valid stances on each topic, but on most topics I side with Donald Trump. I share some of the same views as Trump. I agree with Trump’s opinion that bigger business contribute more to our economy more than smaller businesses. Trump’s plan for defeating ISIS and revamping our military is more effective than Secretary Clinton’s. The issue I feel strongly about is abortion and Donald Trump stance is what I agree with more. Both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have something different to offer our country we, the people, have to decide whose ideals would be a better fit for our great nation.
Have you ever wondered how women helped our country? There was and still are women who changed or change the world today. Like Shirley Muldowney, and Rose Will Monroe, or Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Susan B. Anthony, maybe Hillary Clinton. Some of these women changed little things and some changed big things, but they all made a difference in their own way.
The U.S. president is a person deemed to be the most fitting person to lead this country through thick and thin. It’s been such a successful method that it has led to 43 individual men being put in charge of running this country. However, this doesn’t mean that each one has been good or hasn’t had an issue they couldn’t resolve when in office. But no matter what, each one has left a very unique imprint on the history and evolution of this nation. However when two are compared against one another, some rather surprising similarities may be found. Even better, is what happens when two presidents are compared and they are from the same political party but separated by a large numbers of years between them. In doing this, not only do we see the difference between the two but the interesting evolution of political idea in one party.
Eleanor Roosevelt and Mary McLeod Bethune and both very similar but yet very different. Some ways that they are different is the Eleanor Roosevelt was a first lady and Mary McLeod Bethune was not and she didn’t really have any connection to the president like Eleanor did. Mary was the highest ranked black administer and she worked a lot with groups of black people to make their lives better. They both come from very different backgrounds Mary comes from a rough background where they didn’t have very much money, her parents were slaves and, she had many siblings. Eleanor Roosevelt comes from the opposite background where her grandparents had lots of money and for a while she was really dependent on other people for many things. Mary was always
This has been one of the most fascinating political seasons in recent history. The level of discourse and potential scandals on both sides has increased my attention level. Rather you support either of these candidates, both the fringe candidates from the left and the right both have struck a chord with a lot of people. Whether either of them wins their party’s nomination and becomes the president is still left to be decided. Mainstream political pundits and major social institutions have either condemned or flatly said that some of these candidates’ proposals are not feasible, but to the electorate that doesn’t seem to matter.
When comparing two leaders, people tend to look at the characteristics, or leadership, traits that the person has. Even if the two people seem like an unlikely pair, it is the traits that prove the similarities. Courage, confidence and initiative are traits that both Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth President of the United States, and Rosa Parks, a civil rights activist, demonstrated during their time of leadership.
Economics is the study of currency and how it is made and distributed through our economy. Taxation is one of those main issues in this category. The Democrats and Republicans both consider taxation a major issue but both have different ways they are trying to deal with the problem. The Democrats believe that extending tax cuts to the middle class families of America that make less than 250,000$ a year while raising taxes on the extremely wealthy and huge corporations to help parents pay for college (“Democrats Unveil”). While the Republican Party says it would “try to eliminate taxes on interest, dividends and capital gains altogether for lower and middle-income taxpayers also would work to repeal the estate tax and the alternative minimum tax” (“Democrats Unveil”). They both want to change the tax policy to try to help pay off our debt and or help Americans to live an easier life. Another Key issue in this category is Medicare. Both parties believe that the Medicare policy should be changed. "Democrats adamantly oppose any efforts to privatize or voucherize Medicare" when the Republicans pledge...
Hillary Clinton’s 2016 ad “Role Models” displayed running opponent Donald Trump saying derogatory and at some point even slanderous things throughout his campaign rally as children watch on. Making us ask ourselves is this the role model we want our children to look up to, and desire to be like especially those who have a dream to become presidents themselves as most kids do. This ad show may show a couple of distorted facts, but a mass majority hold to be true, Trumps says all this while being on video at his campaign rallies while visiting different states. The point is to show the way he is talking and how kids still take offense to it no matter what, and we shouldn’t allow this kind of talk out the mouth of a potential leader of the country.
Considering Hillary Rodham Clinton’s upbringing in the 1950’s suburban and very conservative town of Park Ridge, Illinois, it is difficult to imagine that it could have been such an influencing factor in her future liberal political identity. (Caroli 2014). Clinton came from a middle class family that valued hard work and self-reliance. Her father, Hugh Rodham was seen as a controversial, although influential figure in her life. As a strict Republican, Rodham was staunch in his values and was a dominant patriarch. While described by Clinton as ‘critical’ and ‘pretty tough’ (Clinton 2003: 19), Hugh was also regarded as an oppressive father who rarely showed affection or approval to his children. However, Rodham did believe that all his children would not be limited in opportunity or skill, especially Hillary, just because she was a girl. Regardless of his old-fashioned values Rodham pushed Hillary to achieve. Growing up among household chores, summer jobs and vacations spent visiting coal miners. Hillary’s future ability to identify with the working-class would be attributed to Rodham. (Bernstein 2007: 21).

Donald Trump’s hypocritical claim to be a Christian is conspicuous as he holds up Grandma’s bible and mispronounces 2 Corinthians, etc., as if to make a joke of the whole thing. When 60 minutes first interviewed with Donald Trump and his new running mate, Mike Pence, interviewer Leslie Stahl contrasted the difference between the two, saying Trump was brash and Pence was quiet and religious. Trump butted in, “Oh, I’m religious.” The proof he offered? “Well, I won the evangelicals.” Trump said.

2016 was an election that offered two candidates that the world felt they already knew. The Democratic Party and the Republican Party chose their candidate based on who they thought capable of beating the other nominee. We will compare and contrast the presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump; looking at their personal backgrounds, views on health care and views on the economy.
In the year 1789, the first presidential election took place under the new constitution. The changes between then and now are too many to count. There have been amendments to the constitution, technology has enhanced, communication is better, strategies have grown and the world is a different place. In every election, each president had his or her own strengths and weaknesses of their time. In the presidential election of 2012 between Obama and Romney, many economic and personal characteristics held importance on Election Day. In this research paper, I will look at the issues that voters had and discuss how each candidate addressed them. I will also share other important information that contributed to the outcome of the election.
