High School Concert Performance

The concert had multiple performers. It started with the sixth grade at ACYI they played four songs. Then the eighth grades at BEMS played four songs. Third, was the ninth grades at again BEMS. Lastly, was the High School students and they played three songs. However, the last song was the High Schooler and the ninth graders at BEMS combined to play Pirates of the Caribbean. The place that they performed was at the Box Elder High School Auditorium. The atmosphere was not anything I’d except of a concert. However, if you think about it it’s mostly for the parents of the kids which could explain the lack of organization. It bugged me because they didn’t coordinate so on stage their clothes were really distracting. Luckily, the ninth grades wore solid colors and the high school students were indeed matching.

What surprised me most is that almost all the songs were only string instruments. In the song 21 guns the had drums. They also had drums in the pirates of the caribbean piece, aside from those it was all string instruments. Regarding tempo, dynamic, rhythm, texture, and form their was seldom similarities because the music wasn’t similar. They played a song from the disney movie Moana and then they played a song composers I didn’t even recognize. However, one of the songs that really stood out to me was the song Tam Lyn played by the BEMS ninth grade students.
