Helping Relationships Helping relationship is a natural of helping others. Helping is refer to counseling and guidance or helping those who is in needs of help. In the human service profession helping clients manage their problems in living more effectively and developing a plan. Human services workers are making a difference in client’s needs. As a future human services worker/advocate I believe that I opportunities and obligations to reaching out to make a difference with elderly and special needs adults environment surrounding. Helping others has a benefit for the helper. It has a positive impact, sharing your own experiences, and you are focus more on the client’s problem. In some cases, clients are individuals, in others, the client may be small group such as a family, or even a larger population such as the residents of a geographic areas (Woodside, 2015). Example of this such as Joseph Lansing. The case Joseph Lansing a second grader at Samuals Elementary School he was removed from his home and placed in foster care. Also, he was suspended from school due to his behavior issues. A team was assigned to Joseph case from Samuals Elementary School the team included case manager, teacher, psychologist and principal. The staff addressed issues and concerns on Joseph’s behavior issues. Dr. Manning believed that Joseph is deal with social-emotional behavior which has kept him developing communication skills. Joseph behavior in the class is unacceptable he is acting out he is slapping his classmates on top of their head, slamming lockers, and grades dropping. One day Joseph told two of his classmate he was going to bring a gun to school. His teacher reported him to the principal the school policy is zero tolerance.
