My Family: Christian Identity

When looking at my families spoken and unspoken rules I feel as if my family is a little bit different than other peoples. My mother is a very christian woman who believes that when you are dating you should not do anything sexual. My father on the other hand does not agree with my mother. If you asked them when they were together what their views on sexual behavior was im pretty sure he would agree with my mom just to avoid a potential fight. So since my father doesn 't agree with my mother he has told me different advice in private and told me not to tell my mother. Advice like "never go into battle without your armor." As stated before my mother has a very strong Christian identity. She really likes the church and having the church be a big part of her life. She volunteers at the church in the childrens ministry. My father im not too sure of his christian identity. I know he believes in God but im not too sure of what extent. When I was little my dad never wanted to go to church which always made my mom mad and started fights. The fights got really bad so my dad just decided to go to church with my mom and stop fighting it. And since then he has acted more Christian and kept quiet about not wanting to go to church. My little sister believes in God but she is like me. She doesnt believe you need to go to church to be a Christian. As for my personal beliefs I used to believe in God, but im not really sure what I believe any more. I believe that there is a God out there, I just dont know if its the one i 've been praying too. Each individual could like different things that are seen as unhealthy by other individuals. Some of these things that are seen as unhealthy by individuals could include liking pain or having a weird fetish. But the way I see it, as long as the sexual act is between two consenting adults and it is not harming either party physically or emotionally I see it as a healthy sexuality. Even though some people enjoy pain, as long as the pain is not too intense or harmful I believe it is still a healthy form of sexuality. Healthy sexuality for my generation I believe is anything that is safe. As long as diseases are not being transfered and unwanted pregnancys are not prevelant I believe having sex for people in their twentys is healthy. My generation seems more open with the discussion about sexuality. By being more open about a healthy sexuality and shows like teen mom young adults and teenagers are being exposed to the subject. By having a greater amount of exposure I believe that people will be engaging in safer sex practices. They are more likely to wear condoms and/or take birth control if they see first hand experiences of what could
