Healthy eating is what we all need to consider in our everyday life. Healthy eating good prevent you from getting cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. There are many choices that we can make that can either benefit us or be hazardous to our health. There are many factors out there that can cause harm to the body. I have chosen three to discuss. What I am going to be talking about throughout my paper will be cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. I will be discussing what foods that would benefit and lessen your chance in getting these diseases. Also we will talk about the foods and other unhealthy choices that can increase your risk of getting these diseases. Eating healthy is what we need to teach our children and enforce it in your home. If we teach our children to start eating healthy at an early age then it could save them from having to struggle with getting these risk factors such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. We as parents need to instill good healthy eating habits for our children and make sure that our children are getting exercise of some sort on a daily basis. Adding exercise to your life will also lower your chances of becoming obese and having to worry about getting these risk factors. The first thing I am going to talk about is Cancer. There are certain foods that you should try and avoid in order to decrease your risk of getting cancer. According to the Mayo Clinic they suggest that you eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Along with other foods that will come from plant sources. Whole grains and beans are another good source of food that you should eat. They recommend that we should limit our fat intake. Children do influence their parents, so it could make a difference in the home of making better choices for snacks that they choose to eat. We as parents need to encourage our children to get exercise by riding their bikes, going for walks, or playing some type of sport activity. So many children now days stay inside and eat unhealthy foods and play video games. That is why obesity is getting out of control and where the risk factors start to come in to play. Take the time to make good choices in our food selections and getting the right amount of exercise that we need, because it can help decrease the chances we may have of getting any of these diseases. Our families could do more to encourage their children to make changes in their lifestyle early on in their lives. You can see this in a child who is raised in a family that is not concerned about the eating habits that he is developing, by the time the he enters school it may already be too late. The child could enter depression as other kids make fun of him for not fitting in the “norm”. Then back at home the family may even encourage such eating behaviors to the child. Families spend lots of time being concerned about other health aspects of their kids, but fail to see that being obese can have very powerful emotional impacts on their children.
It is apparent that living an unhealthy lifestyle, as well as eating poorly, negatively affects one’s health. From a young age it is quickly learned which foods are considered healthful as opposed to junk food. It is a parents responsibility to supervise the intake of their child's food, however there is a higher risk than ever before of childhood obesity.
Americans eat entirely too much. And the foods we are consuming are not at all healthy, they contain excessive amounts of salt, sugar, saturated fat, carbohydrates, etc. This over eating is not only a severe problem in the adult population but also in America’s children as well. Results from a study performed by the Journal of the American Dietetic Association showed that 1 to 2 year olds get 30 percent more of the 950 calories they require a day. It has also been found that another contributing factor to most children’s bad eating habits is the fact that they either rarely or never consume vegetables and fruit. Besides the lack of fresh fruits and vegetables children are consuming large amounts of sugar. Wether it be in candy or desserts, soda or sugary fruit juices children are beginning to consume these at very early ages. Results from another study performed by the Journal of the American Dietetic Association found that infants are drinking soda out of baby bottles as early as 7 months of age. In response to these disturbing facts Parents magazine published the preceding article. It outlines 10 steps that can be taken to

When you eat do you think about the food you consume? Many times people eat and do not think about what health conditions can be caused by the food that they eat. Maintaining your health is very important and beneficial. Many ingredients in the food we consume can lead up to long lasting health problems. There are many problems that Americans add to their menus that are harmful and solutions that will reduce these harmful risk factors.
...mption of food and physical activity. To make their children more active, parents should stop buying videogames and set a time limit to decrease the amount of time their children spend in front of a computer screen. Another way to increase physical activity is to encourage children to join an extra-curricular activity. Although it is easiest to prevent obesity at a young age, many people in the United States grow up obese or become obese. To help and to encourage adults who are suffering from obesity, they need to learn the life-threatening effects that accompany the “heavy” burden.
In “Bad Food? Tax it, and Subsidize Vegetables”, Mark Bittman suggests that the people of America should stop eating unhealthy foods so often. In the article, Bittman tells his audience that people have “heart disease, diabetes and cancer are all in large part caused by the standard American Diet” (page 35). He also states that eating healthy can result to a better health care system saving millions of lives. The big issue is Americans eating unhealthy every day, but proposing a plan to help stop it from happening.
Saturated fat and cholesterol and an increased risk of heart disease. Fiber and a reduced risk of cancer. Fruit, vegetables and grain products that contain fiber and a reduced risk of heart disease.
We need to get the word out to help parents make sure their children are being active and they are providing them with enough fruits and vegetables in their diets. Parents should also eat right and to exercise with their families and children this will make a huge difference and impact in their children lives. Parents need to lead by example and teach their children a healthy lifestyle this is something the kids will grow up with and continue to do daily in their lives and into adulthood. This will also impact these kids when they are adults with their own families and start a path of teaching their families and kids and a new generation of healthy habits. Healthcare providers can do their best to notice signs of overweight children and start educating the parents before it becomes worse.
Health is very important for everyone at any age. Many of us know the popular saying “Health is Wealthy”. Health not only focuses on physical troubles but also focuses on mental troubles and social well-being. This writing assignment can give students opportunity to look at how their bodies are doing by taking a survey from the website https://www.supertracker.usda.gov/. Obesity is just one of these issues, but it can lead to more severe problems such as diabetes. In Jamie Oliver’s episode series (Week 2) he takes an obese family to the doctor to check for diabetes. No one has it, but if they continue to eat unhealthy their chances will greatly increase. This family was eating fatty, frozen, sugary, and salty foods around the clock. Eating this way can lead to health problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease and should be prevented as quickly as possible. Eating healthy and weight loss benefits health overall for people who have diabetes. Children in schools should be taught to eat healthy so they do not have to grow up and have these inconvenient, serious, health problems. However, diabetes is not the only health headache to worry about. “A study in 2007 found that eating processed meat increased the risk of getting bowel cancer.” (BuzzFeed) If people just ate less than seventy grams of processed meat per week there would be four thousand fewer cases of bowel cancer. Numerous schools sell processed meats to their students. Little do they know it could be the cause of cancer causing kids and teens to die. Processed foods are not the only foods causing cancers and deaths. “Trans fats are like plastic and when we eat them, they incorporate in our cells and our cells cannot communicate, or talk to one another. In terms, hormones are

A healthy lifestyle is usually picked up as we get older. However, think of how much more beneficial it would be for our bodies when we get older, if we would have learned and adapted to a healthier lifestyle when we were younger? Teaching your kids how important a healthy diet is, will help them maintain that lifestyle in their older years. Not to mention have lower health risks, higher self-esteem and it will give them the energy they need to keep up with their eating habits and maintain their body weight.
