Healthy Chick-Fil-A Meal Analysis

Many people consider going out to eat a treat. Fast food on the other hand is considered something quick and easy. Many people who go out to eat do not consider what nutrition they are putting into their body when going to a fast food restaurant. Of the six meals I created the only meal that is a balanced meal is the healthy Chick-Fil-A order. This order is a good mix of veggies, fruit and a treat. This meal would be a healthy option for a lunch or small dinner.
When it comes to smashburger there are few healthy options. Although the salad entree is reasonable, the desserts are extremely unhealthy. I found it shocking how much sodium is included in smashburgers meals. The most unhealthy meal at smashburger contains 178% of my 2300 mg daily sodium intake, 115% of my 2600 daily calorie intake, and had 47% of calories from fat. This positive energy balance means that the energy will be stored in the way of mostly fat. Consuming any of the three unhealthy meals would be detrimental to a person's health. We just looked at a few key nutrients in these meals but many of them contained large amounts of sugar as well. A movie I was shown in health class, Super Size Me, helped to show the effects of fast food on a human body and how unhealthy fast food truly is. The way a product or restaurant is advertised will greatly affect the foods that are most often consumed there. For example, most people who go to a Chick-Fil-A go for the chicken sandwich or the chicken nuggets because they are best known for those. It is very seldom that a commercial for food on T.V. is about a healthy option at a fast food restaurant.
