In these uncertain times of economic depression, one source for peace is a constant----the Bible. Eighteen months ago, God gave me the plan to do this ministry, and has been showing me new ways to impact lives for His glory.
So where do you start when beginning a ministry like this? Prayer is the key to make sure God wants you to do this type of ministry. It can be daunting at times but it is very rewarding if you trust God and obey what He tells you.
After praying about this ministry, look in thrift stores around you for used Bibles to give away. If they are in disrepair, you can use rubber cement to fix them unless they are too far gone. Churches are another resource for Bibles. Some have Bibles stored away for sales they do from time to

Once you have Bibles to work with, divide your city into districts you are going to visit with Bibles. This makes it less daunting instead of looking at a whole city and thinking 'I can't do that'. Personally, I like to walk when I hand out Bibles because I can find people who need Bibles as I walk rather than taking a car and missing out on opportunities to minister to people's needs. Doing it this way, I have found people crying on their front porch and other places who took a Bible and let me pray with them about their need.
When I approach merchants, I use a soft-sell approach. I explain the ministry after I introduce myself and then ask if they would like a couple of Bibles to hand out to others for free? If they say no, be gracious and wish them a nice day. Keep a journal of what you feel and where you go, as well as a record of each place that accepts Bibles to give out. This will be interesting to read later on as a record of what you have done with the Lord's help and for His

What counts is your attitude as you give Bibles out and that you care about those you encounter. The Bible says that everywhere Jesus went He did good. Everywhere He went was a ministry opportunity, and that is what we must do as we pass out Bibles and minister to the needs of others.
Go on Twitter and Facebook and anywhere else you can do it and keep people updated about what God is doing in this ministry. Be open to God's leading to show you new ways to glorify God. Ministry is a process and sometimes you need to develop relationships with people before you can minister to them. They want to see that you are genuine and sincere, and that you care about them as a person before they may let you give them a Bible or pray with them. Remember, you are not just giving away Bibles but planting seeds in the hearts of people whether you give them a Bible or not.
Use events in your city like parades, swap meets etc. to pass out Bibles. Make sure it is not done because you want the credit but because you want to bring people to have have a personal relationship with God. If you always glorify God in what you do, He will bless you
While the major thrust of this manual is to help Christians in a nursing home ministry, this final part enlarges the scope a bit to help churches organize to meet the needs of elderly people both inside and outside of nursing homes.

I grew up in a home with a family that attend church weekly and was active in the church family. I knew about God and about His son but I never remember the story of salvation and the personal need for a savoir. As a teenager I walked away from the religion that I thought did not offer my anything. In my thirties, my husband was diagnosed with cancer and I immediately started my negotiations with God. Little did I know that He was not a negotiator but it was during this time in my life that I needed God more than He needed me. Since accepting the gift of God’s love, the salvation of a Savoir, and the renovation of my heart, I look to God for the path of my life. I share Gods truth through my career change to a Christian nob-profit that’s vision is to share God’s love to the community through the platform of pregnancy care and family services. Personally I have fulfilled God’s call to help the less fortunate by adopting a sibling group and participating and supporting mission trips to third world countries to support his children and missions there. My final piece of God’s plan I feel lead to complete is to volunteer my professional expertise and finances to work with a mission group that provides laboratory services to third world mission hospitals. I have done one trip for them and am currently planning a trip to Honduras in the new year. My day to
The most important task you can do as an ambassador for Christ, is to spend time hanging out with God yourself. Even if it cuts into time that you wanted to spend in "ministry." Spending some time enjoying God's presence, aware that God is enjoying yours at the same time, will do more for those around you, than any words you could work up. If you have a sense of intimacy with Christ, you will be able to do more than just talk about God.
Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every nation. (Mark 16:15)
I will practice being patient, and taking time to understand them and not have any kind of frustration. I will learn to pay close attention to them and communicate as best as I can. I will try my hardest and make it a priority to go every week, to be able to build relationships with the people and in doing so, share Gods love and joy with them. When I find out my position and what exactly I will be doing, I will do some research and ask questions, in order to be able to do my best work and understand,
As a Christian I stand on the belief that the Bible is the inspired word of God and as such the process for its documentation was orchestrated by God for all humankind. Christian’s further believe God has prepared the hearts of humankind to receive the gospel upon hearing if they choose to. Working under this precept we can agree that cultural barriers, specific to hearing the gospel, should not be a factor for other cultures. Since the revelatory Word of God has no barriers the approach used to expose cross-cultural communities to it does. For that reason this essay will identify critical elements to consider when developing a ministry philosophy involving cross-cultural communities.
Bryant and Brunson have done a terrific job of assessing the pastoral ministry and giving sound advice, to the young or prospective pastor. The present author believes that this book should be standard in every pastor’s library. “God promises to be with his servants as they follow” (Bryant and Brunson 2007, 16) The apostle Paul gave three rules to keep the pastor on the track of a good reward: “Fight the Good Fight; Finish the Race; and Keep the Faith.” (Bryant and Brunson 2007, 240-242) The greatest joy for a pastor is to, “Finish well.”
I see different clients every day, and I am always nervous because I never know what story they are going to tell me. Every Christian I pray every morning that God would send his Holy Spirit to cover me and help guide me throughout the day. After reading this book, I have start praying before I see every client. Because I never know what it is that they need or what they are looking for. So I ask God to speak to my mind and through my vocal chords to help me provide what these women and children need. As I go through their assessment I try to incorporate a question pertaining to spirituality. This way it could lead to a conversation related to God or some form of religious belief. A lot of women respond well when we do proceed to talk about their faith. Often times they feel that they have strayed to far away to approach God and seek his help. I cease this moment and ask them if I could pray with them and for them if they don't mind. Most have agreed, and they want to come back to talk and pray some more. This has made me feel wonderful. I even asked my supervisor we could have a designate night for bible study with the ladies who are in shelter. As of now, we are working on creating a Bible study night. I am very excited about that. I am still constantly praying every chance I get. The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all
This is important. We aren't lone wolves, we can't do this alone. You need mentors, you need friends, you need family. The body of Christ is a good family to have. Stay plugged into a good Church.
Philosophy of Ministry: God's desires come first, I must always live my ministry God's way. I must live as a Christian (1 Corinthians 9:27) I must have a proper relationship of surrender to the Leader. In my personal life or in the Church I must understand that Christ is Head and Chief Shepherd (Ephesians 1:22, Hebrews 13:20). The “management” of Church is about relationships with God and Man, not just maintaining a social organization.
Many years ago, a friend and pastor whom I dearly loved and respected told me that there are three areas of responsibility in sharing the gospel. They are ours, the Holy Spirits, and the one that hears the gospel. Our responsibility is to go where we are called. That is it, to go and allow our self to be used. The Holy Spirit’s
In ministry it is important to note that the different people involved in your ministry will be at different stages of their spiritual growth. Having an awareness of your own personal theology will be important for how you go about teaching the students who are involved in your youth ministry. One part of personal theology is spiritual formation. Duffy Robbins states that spiritual formation is, “the growing into the likeness of Jesus” (448). Another main part of personal theology is community. Understanding and having an idea of both spiritual formation and community helps with the formation of personal theology of ministry. This paper will share five areas of theology and how they relate to practical theology in youth ministry. The five areas of theology include view of God, view of people, view of sin, view of redemption, and view of scripture.
I was afraid, but I continued to pray and asked God for directions. Fay states, “God has called each of us to share our faith, in obedience. He has called each of us to evangelize. If one of your excuses for not sharing your faith is, “I don’t have the gift of evangelism,” then you need to examine Scripture. You find the command of the Great Commission to evangelize, to encourage evangelism, and to urge evangelism.” I really enjoyed spreading the gospel because it gives me joy. I am willing to meet the needs of people when given the opportunity. I love God and I love people. I am willing to go where God wants me to
My call to ministry came in response to a question from the book of Isaiah: “When I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” (Isaiah 6:8 NIV). Isaiah’s book is one of the more quoted books of the New Testament in Jewish history. The book speaks of the coming of Jesus and his second coming. It also talks about the prophecy on the fall of Babylon. Most of the prophets had visions, as did Isaiah.
