The importance of the SWOT factors in combination with the business plan will help determine if the addition services is achievable. The Community Hospital is an accredited organization under the Joint Commission which is a positive strength for them, as this accreditation requires a high standard for a hospital. A weakness for the organizations would be that the company has a low market distribution, along with struggling to keep up with the competition and technology changes. Another weakness that could affect the organization is that they are suffering from a shortage of profession staff such as providers and ancillary staffing. However, there are many opportunities such as the increase of the city’s population, and opportunities with advancement of technology. To meet the needs of the current organization a significant increase in staffing and recruitment must take place for the hospital to serve the community. Not having adequate staffing to accommodate the increase of patients can be a potential risk. Another weakness is the fact that the company has, in recent years fallen behind its competitors in the market sharing distribution. This may also be because of the threat that a competitor has recently updated their facility drawing in more of the market sharing.
