I am applying to the Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program because I will substantially benefit from the experience that it will give me. As the name of the program states, the exposure I will be receiving will greatly influence my future learning in medical school. It will familiarize me with the hospital setting and help me adapt to it sooner than most. I want to be able absorb this information and share it amongst my peers who aspire to be in the medical field as well. This program will not only help me academically but personally as well. It would give me a greater sense of independence, due to traveling back and forth to the city by myself. I would learn to figure out maps and directions on my own without relying on a parent
IMSA’s opportunities are one of the main reasons I am applying. As I want to pursue a career in the medical field, especially in sports medicine. I believe that IMSA’s opportunities will help me achieve these goals of mine through the community and the overall culture at IMSA, and I believe I can contribute to IMSA’s environment by involving myself in the extensive extracurricular activities IMSA has.
I am applying to the Penwasciz program because I hope to see more LGBTQ+ inclusion within all facets of the medical field. Growing up gay, I never saw myself represented much of anywhere in society, and I fell victim to believing the stereotypes surrounding the gay community. The only gay role models I had were fashion designers, models, and an occasional celebrity. Certainly, there were no healthcare professionals thrown into this mix, mostly because I was under the impression that gay doctors were only a product of Hollywood, and for the mass’ entertainment. If it weren’t for my Mother, who is a registered nurse, I would have never thought of medicine as an option for me. Now, I think of all the gay kids in the next generation, who might
The primary reason I am applying to Molloy College is my desire to earn the education and qualifications in order to provide more involved care for my patients at work. I have known for some time that I have always wanted to be a nurse. Therefore, in April 2007 I enrolled in a program to become a certified nurse’s aide and earned my New York state certification in July 2007. I began working immediately at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in November 2007; I also began working in a hospital starting April 2015. Being employed at both facilities is what led me to fall in love with a career in nursing, all while allowing me to gain a wonderful amount of experience caring for a diverse population as well as working with a diverse population of health care professionals.
Overall, my character and academic skills have made me a strong candidate to be part of NHS. My willingness to face challenges has me happy to prove myself to NHS, showing myself in different ways. I want to continue my passion of helping others, even giving myself as an example to motivate other students to do just what I'm doing.
Perhaps the most compelling reason I have for applying to this fellowship is the mission and values that I share with Intermountain. “Helping people live the healthiest lives possible” is a mission that resonates with me. I feel that the mission of any healthcare organization should be to improve the lives of the community it serves. Dr. Brent James has made it clear that a healthier population within an integrated health system is the key to affordable, quality care.
Although I don't recall needing any additional english credits or the need for placement, it looks as if I will be unable to submit my application without an essay. There are several life experiences that have influenced my academic goals. The first and for most would be my personal experience in the field of mental health. I have always had an interest in psychology and I was even more intrigued after take a few psychology classes in nursing school. And although I can work as an RN in this field I would prefer to function as a provider and/or counselor. This has led me to further pursue my education. The nurse practitioners I have worked with are always been supportive and true professionals, whom I have looked up too. Another influencing
Workforce demographics are constantly changing. This is going to have major impacts on recruitment trends in the coming years. There are many reasons for the rise and fall of labor and workforce in the United States since 1950. From men and women, age of workers, increase in education, immigration, and marital status; all of these different things have contributed to these changes throughout the years and over decades. There have been steady increases throughout the last 50 years but we will see a tapering off of this growth due to many factors over the next 50 years.
As the forthcoming nursing shortage threatens the United States, organizations must be knowledgeable in the recruitment and retention of nurses. The challenge facing health care organizations will be to retain sufficient numbers of nurses to provide safe, efficient, quality care to patients. Organizations will look to recruit and attract quality nurses to fill vacancies. As turnover in nursing is a recurring problem, health care organizations will look for strategies to reduce turnover. The rate of turnover for bedside nurses in 2013 ranged from 4.4 to 44.6% (American Nurses Association, 2013). Nurse retention focuses on keeping nurses in the organization and preventing turnover. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the significance of recruitment and retention of nurses, review the literature, and explore how recruitment and retention apply to nursing.
In today's business and health care environment, a platform has been reached which can competently complement one another in one effective platform. As such, Health Care Recruitment Counselors (HCRC) and its amazing founder and leader, Mr. Brian Torchin, have been setting up a new trajectory for health care-related businesses and services.
Although I have great goals to help people, my grand wish cannot be granted without a great amount of effort on my part. I decided to take part in activities that would help me reach my goals and to ready myself for that field of work. My extracurricular activities and my electives showed proof of my interest in the medical field over time. I made an extra effort to look for activities and classes that could help me on the way to becoming a doctor. My first step was
I have applied to the MUJCESOM because West Virginia is my home and I have strong family ties to the state. My father received his PhD from a West Virginian state school and has been an educator at different universities in the state for more than 40 years. Additionally, I have a desire to continue expanding my knowledge by working on research projects and I know that MU has taken great strides in expanding their research programs and facilities. Furthermore, I feel that the small class sizes at the MUJCESOM would be greatly beneficial in that it would allow me to have a more personalized experience in medical school. I believe that I can become a great physician by getting my medical education at the MUJCESOM and then giving back to my home
I think the healthcare industry will constantly have an issue with recruiting health care workers of any kind. It is such a difficult job that one will not fully understand until they have worked in the environment. People need to have a better understanding of the challenges health care workers face on a daily basis. This could be anything from the workload, poor salary, not enough staff members, to poor organization. The health care industry is a life and death business that affects everyone working within that facility. It has bad days and good days. Professionals can bring all the resources in that they have to keep the workers within their facility but the turnover rate will still constantly be on the rise. I think is due to the fact that RNs do not fully understand the difficulty of the job until they experience it first hand.
I have requested a placement in a health care facility because I am extremely interested in the art of sciences that it enables me to understand deeply what is going on in our body biologically and in daily life. Most importantly, I have a passion for applying what I have learned to provide aids to people in need, and further, to improve the society.
My International background, cultural competency, multilingual abilities, and academic aptitude will aid me in successfully completing the Graduate program of Public Health. I am confident that this program will provide me with necessary tools and education to successfully execute and construct policies that would benefit both local and international communities. Through my Medical Scribe experiences, EMT work, Undergraduate coursework, helped me gain in depth knowledge and different perspectives into the health care industry. I believe that University of New England is the best conduit to pursue and accomplish my academic and career goals.
