Finding My Happiness Over the last few years I have been looking for hobby’s that interest me. I’ve tried many different activity’s and I came across one that suited me well. I was looking for an activity that I would enjoy and that would help me get in shape. Exercise is one activity that I realized takes my mind away from reality. Also it was a perfect way for me to get back in shape. Entering the gym gives me such of a fulfilling vibe, because I know everybody there is there to reach or maintain a goal. One day I was going through all my clothes, as the new school year was approaching. I wanted to get a gage of what I would needed to add to my wardrobe. So I tried on dozens of pants and shirts in disbelief of how they fitted. My jeans …show more content…
I started thinking about what I was eating, and what exercise was I really doing from the day to day basis. I concluded that I was eating poorly, on top of not doing any kind of physical activities. I was eating to many sweets, and junk food, and, drinking too much soda. My main problem was I was eating late at night, and when I researched about that it told me that that was very unhealthy and it leads to weight gain.
I was sitting on my bed thinking about what am I going to do to get myself healthy. I started thinking about all the bad things that could happen to me if I didn’t change my ways. My family already has a history with heart disease so that didn’t make anything better. So I made myself a goal that I was going to get my body back healthy. My mom came up with a heathier diet plan for me, but it was up to me to find a physical activity that I could use to help me get in

I first started to ride my bike around the neighborhood multiple times to get exercise. After doing that for a few days I realized that it didn’t excite me. So I tried out swimming, but I couldn’t find interest in it. I love sports so I thought that would be the perfect way for me to getting in shape and enjoy what I was doing at the same time. So I started to play different kinds of sports like basketball, football, soccer, etc. I realized that why I liked playing sports I didn’t have the same goals because in sports they have a mindset of trying to win and I had of mindset of getting in shape. So my mom seen I was struggling, and came up with this idea of me getting a gym membership. I hesitantly agreed. I started going to the gym 3-5 days out of the week, and I finally found
They say if you love something, let it go. Yeah, I had a hard time believing those few words, for almost five years now.I met the first guy I fell in love with and whom I believed I was destined to spend my whole life with. I remember reading a quote or something like that by Plato, saying, “According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves.” And I had sworn that I was sure he was my other half, that it was meant to be. Sucks though, when reality hits
The effect of acting on the thoughts and behavior of this change is that it helped motivate me to become successful after the first failure. My thoughts going into is that I would not end up with the same result as the last attempt. By weighing out the pros and cons of this change helped me push more to a successful path. Improving my health, reducing my risk of certain disease, and feeling better about myself is long term results. Implementing physical activity and eating healthy to get to those results is considered a reward itself. These factors are important to me and it helped me toward my goal at the
Taking the following questionnaire: Satisfaction with Life Scale, Approaches to Happiness Scale, and Authentic Happiness Inventory, helped me evaluate my life. Many times due to circumstance we forget in what positon our life is standing at the moment. We forget how much we have accomplished in the past and how much we have invested to make our future a good one. For the Satisfaction with life scale, I score a 33(love their life and feel that everything is going very well). People may might say well she is living a perfect life, but to be honest is not that is being perfect, is that one day years ago I made a decision of not letting anything take away what I have worked hard for. According to Earl & Carol Diener, because positive moods energize approach tendencies, it desirable that people on average be in a positive mood (1996). If I make a mistake, which is possible because am human, what I do is learn from it. It’s like what the Apostol from the church I go to says” you control life, not life controlling you.”
I honestly did not know what I was getting myself into when I first decided to enter the fitness world. Although I had seen many people getting into shape and was told what the journey was like from others, I did not know what to expect the first few months. I had never been overweight, but I was never confident or happy in my own skin. The fitness world was extremely

...e completely healthy attempting to avoid my punishment and then there were days where I ultimately caved and failed at eating well. On those days, I followed the rules I set in place and worked out as I said I would that evening. Part of the time my boyfriend would inevitably cause me to falter by cooking a nice fattening meal, but I don’t blame him at all considering it was up to me to make the decision to refrain from eating it. I probably didn’t do as well as I could have around lunch time or dinner but I’m glad at the fact that I did keep away from sweets and snacks throughout the entire week. I was really intrigued with getting good results for this project so I tried my hardest to actually follow the program set. Even if I don’t keep with this change after the project it’s very comforting to know I CAN eat healthy when I want and I CAN workout if I need too.

I was never conscious about my health till high school. It was during high school that I developed a mental model. I learned the consequences of the food that I consume daily. I often ate fast foods and soon I started to gain weight. I gain this weight very quickly and my activity level went down drastically. My weight gain affected my confidence and that’s when I began to be aware of my health in a positive way. I stopped eating fast foods, I worked out everyday and soon I was back to my normal weight. This experience has taught me what it means to take care of your body. My mental model begin with my weight struggle and it turned into me having a healthy life style.
The result that I got was 4.5, which is the average, but I expected more. Since this is very subjective and questions 3 & 4 are opposite of each other which might lead to the ‘normal’ score of happiness and the person cannot answer both with a high number that will only make the person seem contradictory to themselves. I cannot judge my happiness based on this and I believe that I am a happy person seeing that I have everything that I could ask for. I got this score, by being content with life, I am, in fact, happy and compared to my peers I’m average. I’m not happy with my result seeing as the system on which this scoring grid lies on is very subjective and my score might change from one day to the other, I would like to keep a journal
Happiness must not always come from big things and events. It can come from smaller, daily habits too.
Adding exercises into one’s daily routines can change their whole lifestyle. Many people look at exercise as being something just for people who want to lose weight or to become muscle bound, but there are a great deal of benefits that can be received from exercising regularly. Of course gaining muscle and losing fat are the two most popular reasons that usually attract people to the gym, but they make up a small part of the potential benefits that can be achieved with exercise. There are several ways in which I have benefited in my life from exercising regularly, besides just making me bigger and stronger. It has made me become more organized, helped me make better decisions, and motivated me to take on new challenges in life.
Happiness, what is it, and why do we strive to achieve it so persistently? Happiness in some points of view is portrayed as the state that is derived from self-awareness of a benefiting action or moment taking place. What of the moments that are not beneficial? Can a person still find moments of happiness and success in discord, a little glimmer of light shining from the deep recesses of our own consciousness? Plucking it from a mere moment, achieved from money, or is it so much more, happiness is the precipice that all strive to gain to better perceive their success. As a person lives, they are in a constant struggle to be happy. For instance, even the United States Constitution makes reference to the idea that every person has the inalienable right to pursue happiness. This was the resulting outcome of the enlightenment from France, spilling out into the rest of the world from 1650 through 1800. This revolutionized the idea that every single person has the inalienable right to happiness or in different views the right to succeed. As to how one peruses or conjures their happiness that is an entirely different concept and completely up to their preferred preference, but it is something that a person needs to find on their own for true success.
While I was tracking my eating for these three days, I began to learn about the benefits of the food that I am eating and the nourishment that they provide for my body. I had never realized how big of a role that the food that I eat plays in my everyday life. Eating has never been something that I really think about it is just something that I do. After I looking at the data of what I eat on Choose My Plate, I realized that my eating habits are far from balanced and that I needed to work on bringing my eating habits to a better balance. While there are a lot of things that I have been doing right, there are also many things that I can work on.
I believe that happiness is the key to living a good and prosperous life. Through all of the sadness and hate in the world, happiness gives me hope. It gives not only me, but others hope and joy. Happiness gives us something to hold onto, therefore we cherish it as much as we can.
