Happiness, what is it, and why do we strive to achieve it so persistently? Happiness in some points of view is portrayed as the state that is derived from self-awareness of a benefiting action or moment taking place. What of the moments that are not beneficial? Can a person still find moments of happiness and success in discord, a little glimmer of light shining from the deep recesses of our own consciousness? Plucking it from a mere moment, achieved from money, or is it so much more, happiness is the precipice that all strive to gain to better perceive their success. As a person lives, they are in a constant struggle to be happy. For instance, even the United States Constitution makes reference to the idea that every person has the inalienable right to pursue happiness. This was the resulting outcome of the enlightenment from France, spilling out into the rest of the world from 1650 through 1800. This revolutionized the idea that every single person has the inalienable right to happiness or in different views the right to succeed. As to how one peruses or conjures their happiness that is an entirely different concept and completely up to their preferred preference, but it is something that a person needs to find on their own for true success. Now how does a person go about being happy, well let us examine one of the most common questions in reference to happiness, “can money buy happiness?” most people would say “yes.” The answer to this question will almost always be yes, because society and humans in general tend to be greedy creature always wanting more, from a better house to finer foods there is and always will be more to obtain. But is having these things what makes humans happy or is it the success of achieving your own... ... middle of paper ... ...t is better to categorize happiness as a state of mind because happiness has no particular way to measure it, you are either happy or you are not. It is success that makes a person happy, their contentment with what they produced themselves. We are in control of our own fate and happiness; you can only be as successful as you allow yourself to be. Work Cited Ricards, Matthieu. "The habits of happiness." Ted Talks. Ted. Along with life and liberty, the pursuit of happiness is among the most fundamental ideals in American society. The men who founded the United States of America in the late 18th century listed these three values as “unalienable rights” for the citizens of the new nation they created. In a recent study looking at the pursuit of happiness, Lyubomirsky, Sheldon, and Schkade stated, “If it is meaningful and important to pursue happiness, then it is crucial to find out how this can be accomplished” (2005, p. 126). In later work, Sheldon and Lyubomirsky (2006) observed that little research has been done to uncover the exact methods in which happiness increases. The views offered in these prior projects are vital to the current investigation because there is evidence that even though happiness is pursued, happiness is not accomplished by the majori...

ABC News 20/20 Documentary " Happiness, hope to find it, understand it, and achieve it" by Bill Weir. Weir investigates the six essentials of being happy. Number one is that happiness is unpredictable. A person may find joy in small things. For example, getting a tattoo. Number two society misleads people into thinking that the more possessions a person has the happier people will be. Number three finding an activity or hobby that is worthwhile to a person such as painting or knitting will bring a person pleasure. Number four going to work is more enjoyable if like your co-workers. Spending eight hours at a job is more pleasurable if you associate with people you enjoy being around. Number five happiness as being a choice. For instance, a cab
Happiness can be easily defined as the state of well-being and contentment gained by personal life experiences through either direct or indirect connections with the world around us. The people we meet and the trails we go through in life add together to create a hopefully happy life. To be happy in life is indeed the only way to enjoy it. Therefore it’s no wonder that we all strive to achieve this idea of happiness. This interest in the search for true happiness has become a major factor in our modern age. Looking back at our history, the moods of many Americans have seemed to become stagnate even when we experience a rise in salaries and overall life expectance. This begs the question as to what then

Happiness is a common emotion that provides a positive and lifted lifestyle. Many people think happiness is handed around, that happiness comes from a lucky draw in life, as if it was a game. However people actually choose to be happy by living and thinking in a positive way that creates happiness for them.
Happiness is believed to be the key to almost everything. To be loved and to feel successful or accomplished all have aspects of happiness in them. Happiness is everywhere all over the world; it is just hard to grasp the joyful feeling, however it could also be easy to grasp. Happiness can be
When asking the question of whether happiness is the most important thing in life, it is important to understand what happiness actually is. Happiness can mean a great many things; financial security, enjoyment in life, a successful career, a loving family, or changing the world or perhaps a combination of these things. However, can those things actually make a person happy? A survey conducted in 2017 says that only 33% of Americans consider themselves happy. That’s up one from 2016 and two below the all-time high of 35% in 2008. That is a staggeringly low amount for a country that has the pursuit of happiness on its Declaration of Independence. An answer to this seeming contradiction could be found in the idea that no one is sure what they
Happiness. It is the feeling that humans use to define times of joy, and a word that is used to describe the feeling of being at one’s highest peak. Happiness is characterized as what is essential to live a long and prosperous life. But what about the other feelings? Does happiness block out those low tides, to make way for the high and mighty joys? Essentially, happiness is often so heavily desired and sought after, that many other feelings are overlooked. In reality, all emotions are needed to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Furthermore, even though both negative and positive feelings are needed to prosper, being happy can also result in many cheery outcomes as well.
