I believe that happiness is the key to living a good and prosperous life. Through all of the sadness and hate in the world, happiness gives me hope. It gives not only me, but others hope and joy. Happiness gives us something to hold onto, therefore we cherish it as much as we can. Not many people in the world today express happiness, we always hear about the bad and despair in the world around us. I try to stay happy and positive as much as I can, because I think happiness can be spread through the littlest things in life. In a world today where all you hear about is the bad going on around you, having something to hold onto and give you hope can change the outlook of that situation. I try to live all of my days by being positive and happy, …show more content…
Looking back now, I would have to agree with her. I believe that happiness is always that feeling is lingering around in the back of our minds. We just have to find a way to let it come out and let it change our lives. I have seen many people’s lives including my family members turn around and give them hope just with the slightest bit of happiness. Happiness is a feeling that cannot be broken if strong enough, no matter how much sadness or hate is around you. Happiness can come from the smallest thing, for instance, music makes me happy and can easily change my mood, or when I am doing something I love my mood is easily changed. For others it could be whenever you do something well, or right and get recognition for it. It is the easiest feeling to be spread and given out but often neglected and forgotten about which is something we should all be more aware …show more content…
Two years ago today my great grandmother passed away from old age and suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. Although all of my memories with her are vague, I will never forget the happiness that emanated from her when you were around her. Even in her last days, when she could barely remember her own children, you never saw her without a smile on her face. And that to me is something that I will carry with me for as long as I
Suppose I started this off automatically with a clear definition over what happiness really is. It would result in a highly unlikely answer simply because everyone’s perspective on happiness would be different and could not be accounted to be true for everyone. According to Jane Kenyon’s poem, Simon Critchley’s critique, Douglas Preston’s encounter with the famous religious and political figure Dalai Lama, and Mihaly Csikzentmihalyi’s theory, each hold a different view on what happiness really means and why it is such a concern to people.
You could also achieve happiness by spending time with their loved ones and making them smile. Have you ever made someone smile and felt so good by just doing that? Well it is a great feeling seeing the people you love smiling, Or perhaps you were there for a friend that was sad and you cheered them up and afterwards felt so good? Well that is happiness. Happiness is making others happy.
According to Dictionary.com, happiness is contentment, joy, good fortune, and the state of being happy.
Happiness, like food and water, has been made a necessity for life by people throughout the years. It has gotten to
Over many years, people have attempted to seek out what happiness truly is and how it can be obtained. It could be described as a feeling, a goal, or a state of mind. The definition of happiness can vary depending on the individual, race; even the religion someone follows can influence what happiness is to them. In Roko Belics documentary Happy, we see many different examples of happiness from people living in diverse parts of the world and what it means to them. Whether it’s a poor father from India transporting passengers on his bicycle making pennies on the dollar, or a successful business man on Wall Street living in New York with a six figure salary, happiness can come to anyone no matter how different their lifestyles are. I agree with
For myself, I believe that true happiness is an illusion. I believe in the desire-driven
Happiness is something most humans value above everything else. The various things in life that make us happy, such as family, friends, and cool cars, to name a few, are the very things we hold dearest to us and place the most value on. People fill their lives with things that please them to ease the gloom that comes as a result of the seemingly never-ending trials and tribulations of life. We gladly accept any amount of pleasure we can extract from the monotony of our daily lives, and we will do almost anything to achieve happiness.
They say that happiness itself is an art that needs to be perfected and it is the truth because it’s in one’s own hands to decide what outlook they want to spend their lives with. That is the ultimate path to
As a child growing up, parents would teach their kids that realizing certain milestones in life, such as, getting A’s in school, getting accepted into an Ivy League college, having a respected career, having a trusted income, living in a two story home, marrying the love of your life, having well-rounded kids, pretty much living the American dream with the perfect family, will make us happy. The honest truth is that even obtaining all of these things listed above has nothing to do with happiness. The Oxford English Dictionary defined the word happiness as “the quality or condition of being happy;” it sounds fairly easy to define, but happiness isn’t just “being happy”. If the word was that easily interpreted, than many people wouldn’t misuse it in different contexts or scenarios. Happiness is different from happy moments. Even though the word happiness is debatable, at the end of the day, it is what everyone is trying to attain.
Happiness is a feeling that humans naturally desire. Without it, one feels incomplete. In this generation, happiness has taken on a definition by how we are presented to one another. It is measured by how much money we have, how famous we are, or the things we possess. When in reality, none of these things guarantee a happy life. Happiness is something that cannot be bought with money, but rather, it must be found, earned, sought after. Each and every one of us has our own list of things that we consider to make us happy. However, happiness shines brightest through the relationships we create, and the goals we make for ourselves to strive after. Along with these two essential sources, we then can mix and match those things in life that we enjoy to create our own unique formula for happiness.
You know when you understand what a word means, but can 't quite define it? For instance the word "the". Well there are many words you know, but couldn 't translate the definition if someone were to ask you to. That 's sort of how I feel about the word "happiness." Along happiness comes smiling, giggling, laughing, and positive vibes. It 's your heart 's way of smiling, metaphorically speaking of course. Happiness is defined as the state of being happy. Which to sum it up means the feeling of pleasure and contentment. Happiness is seeing your food come in a restaurant. Happiness is riding a bike without training wheels and not falling. Happiness is being content with your life and the people in it. Happiness could mean something completely
Another way my happiness is developed in my life is from the people around me. My mother always told me to surround myself with positive people because they will lead you to live a positive lifestyle, and her advice has led me to become who I am today. Positivity is the basis of happiness in my eyes, for negativity leads to sadness and pain. Happiness is a positive feeling and is usually associated with positive connotations; therefore, I wrap my life in positivity to ensure happiness even through tough times.
How could I promote happiness? Of course by beginning with myself. The saying, “10 percent is what happens to us and 90 percent is how we react with it” is one of my favorite. I may not be able to control what will happen to me, but surely, I always have the power over my emotions. In every circumstance, whether it may be good or bad, I must always keep those smiles plastered in my face. I must be thankful to God in whatever things happen for I know He’s always in control of everything.
What is happiness? Different people have different ideas. Some people are rich, and they think they are happy. Other people have many friends, so they feel happy. Still others are happy because their lives are meaningful. Happiness attracts everyone. For children, happiness often suggests eating good food and playing with toys. For a stamp collector, stamps bring more delight than meals. And for a scientist, a discovery or an invention rather than anything else gives him the greatest satisfaction.
There are several ways to achieve happiness; however, no one could actually define the meaning of it. Happiness comes from people’s perspectives, is viewed in many different ways and it costs you nothing in exchange. To me, the key of happiness is how well you make, and use your money, stay a healthy life, is being surrounded by love of friends, and family, as well as how you control the purpose of your life.
