The purpose of this research paper is to investigate various areas concerning my future career, that is to be an obstetrician, also known as an OB/GYN. Some of the topics that will be discussed in my paper are those pertaining to exactly what an obstetrician is and the requirements that are needed in order to become an obstetrition. These requirements will include the pyhsical and phsyschological personality traits of a potential obstetrician. The type of schooling that is nessecary, including the preperation that is available at Middlesex County College, and the average number of years that it takes in order to become an obstetrician. The demand for obstetricians will also be researched, along with the different promotional ranks that are available. Starting salaries, as well as potential salaries will be explained. The reasons as to why a career in obstetrics appeals to me and the other possible career choices that I may decide to persuade in the future.
An obstetrician is a physician who has successfully completed specialized education and training in the specialties of pregnancy, delivery, and the care directly following childbirth. A gynecologist is a physician who has successfully completed training in the health of the female reproductive system, including the treatments of disorders and diseases. Generally, the training for both an obstetrician and a gynecologist occur at the same time. This is how the term OB/GYN came to be. An OB/GYN is a physician who specializes in both pregnancy and female reproductive care. The medical care that is provided by an OB/GYN can range from anual pap smears to prenatal care. An OB/GYN can also specialize in a particular area of medicine such as urinary tract disorders, infertility, and preventitive health, to name a few(Women's Health Channel). Typically, the personality traits that are benificial to an OB/GYN are patientce, intelligence, compassion, and the ability to communicate well with people. These will help to make the patients feel at ease with their doctor and establish a trusting relationship if they feel that their doctor sinceraly cares about their health and well being. The number of hours that an OB/GYN may vary each week, hence this is not a standard, Monday through Friday, nine to five job. OB/GYNs, who are in practice, can be expected to work as little as fifty hour...

...ans" (Hill). Therefore, earning my Associate's degree at Middlesex County College will enable me to decrease my school expenses. Although Middlesex County College is only a small portion of my future schooling expenses, it is important because I am getting a quality education for less than it would cost to go to a university to earn my Associate's degree. This research paper has helped me to gain a better understanding on what it means to be an OB/GYN and how to go about achieving my dream.

My research paper is on the healthcare occupation, in particularly, the field of licensed practical nursing, also called licensed vocational nurses. In my paper, I will cover such things as the definition of career choice, certain requirements, the expected job duties and responsibilities, any additional licensure that is required. After discussing these topics, I will then point out the potential of finding a job, the ranges of salary, as well as the environment I would be working in. Finally, I will talk about the potential growth in this field and legal requirements. Now i will start with the definition of my career choice.
The society of Gilead strips every basic human right and power from women until they are nothing; because of this, all women will be impacted tremendously and incapable of returning to a normal life after the laws have been lifted. “In The Handmaid’s Tale, Atwood explicitly questions why people so often cooperate with totalitarian regimes and how they come to accept life under their dominion,” (Laflen). The Handmaid’s have grown accustomed to doing whatever it takes to survive; the society they live in forces them to think of themselves as the Commander's puppet. As a Handmaid, Offred must conceive a child with the Commander. During these sex ceremonies the Handmaid must play it absolutely safe because everyone is watching, “One false move and I’m dead,” (Atwood 88) Offred says. Handmaids have the most responsibility, but at the same time they do not have any responsibility at all. During the ceremony, Offred must make sure not to move a muscle or make any suspicious movements that would raise an eye. “It is true that the colonization of Offred's body can be linked with
This is a research paper conducted on the very highly pursuited field of nursing. Nursing is a profession in the healthcare field that focuses or assisting others. Not to mention, nurses are heroes because of the many lives they save every day. This is an example that one doesn’t need tights or a cape to be a hero. Never the less, there are many reasons one may want to become nurse. Some of those reasons may be for personal gain or the greater good. However, before becoming a nurse one needs to be educated about educational requirements, licenses and certifications, projected salaries, and the projected job outlook for the next five – ten years for nursing. This research paper will provide thorough information on those four major aspects of
An obstetrician/gynecologist, commonly abbreviated as OB/GYN, can serve as a primary physician and often serve as consultants to other physicians. OB/GYNs can have private practices, work in hospital or clinic settings, and maintain teaching positions at university hospitals. OB/GYNs may also work public health and preventive medicine administrations. OB/GYNs have a broad base of knowledge and can vary their professional focus. Many develop unique practices, providing high-quality health care for women. OB/GYNs may choose to specialize in Acute and chronic medical conditions, adolescent gynecology, behavioral problems, cancer, endocrinology, health maintenance during pregnancy, infertility, pregnancy and delivery, prevention health, and urinary tract disorders.
Becoming an obstetrician gynecologist (OBGYN) requires about twelve through fifteen years of education and practical experience. The first eight years are typical medical education. Doctors start to train in OBGYN practice at the same time as residency programs that follow up after graduation from medical school. OBGYNs have to go after a four year undergraduate degree for instance a bachelor of science in human biology. Students must also think about taking courses in biology, chemistry, and anatomy, because course like those give you a strong substructure of education for medical school and human health. Most programs which endeavor science degrees usually subsume laboratory courses, which allow learners to become knowledgeable with lab equipment and procedures. During the last two years of college, you will then begin to get ready for the medical col...
“Many kids — particularly adolescents — are concerned about how they look and can feel self-conscious about their bodies.” Eating disorders have the power to affect everyday life. Not only in just teens but all ages. They are able to cause extreme weight changes. As well as, it could affect your health for the rest of your life. (Source 1) By having an eating disorder everything becomes based off of that, if it isn’t helped or stopped it could become serious and damage your health permanently.
The way a person see’s oneself and imagines what they look like is one’s body image. One can either have a positive or negative connotation regarding their own body appearance. A positive body image means that most of the time one is comfortable and satisfied about the way they appear. In a sense, that means they feel good about the way they see themselves in mirrors or pictures. Having a negative body image is a common struggle for individuals. This means they are unhappy with their physical appearance and constantly want to change something about him or herself. Negative body image leads to serious mental problems such as anorexia or bulimia. Not only do we have a personal view on our body image, but society also has an input. Society
I overcame two major barriers as I worked toward my goal, my father’s opinion about appropriate careers for women and my lack of English. I grew up in a village where the nearest doctor was three hours away. When I was eight years old, I was surprised by my aunt’s pregnancy and intrigued to learn more about pregnancy and fetal development.
I remember something that Ana said during our interview: “My biggest influences are my repeat moms. They encourage me and love me as a good friend, and I know they will support me and have my back no matter what.” It strikes me that the relationship Ana develops with her clients is genuine and long-lasting. From the first meeting to the day your baby is born, Ana is with you every step of your pregnancy, which lies in stark contrast to the revolving door of doctors, nurse practitioners and residents you might encounter during a medically managed pregnancy and childbirth. The service that Ana provides to this community is selfless and driven by a passion for helping women. My hope is that midwifery will be recognized in Kentucky as the untapped resource that it is, and that hidden treasures such as Ana will have their chance to shine.
The career I chose to do is an Obstetrician Gynecologist also known as an OB/GYN. Firstly, OB/GYNs specialize in the welfare in women as well as general health issues along with issues that affect the reproductive system. Secondly, they specialize with the child development in women with pregnancies as well as post-partum pregnancies. In addition to that Obstetrician Gynecologist are well known for the examinations that they perform on women such as pap smears, pelvic exams, mammograms. Firstly, the pap smear is an examination that a gynecologist performs when a woman may first become sexually active or when a woman just comes in for a yearly checkup for cervical cancer. Secondly, a mammogram is an examination that uses x-rays to see if there
An ob-gyn is what you probably refer to as just delivering babies but it’s a lot more then that. An obstetrician has to do with giving patients medicine, making sure a patient and the baby are healthy for a long nine months, being the one their for the delivery process, etc. To be an obstetrician/ gynecology, you have to go to school for quite some years but not just that also training classes. When in college learning to be an ob-gyn, you get to experience a lot of hands on things which is always fun! Last but not least before I begin to explain lots of things about an ob-gyn is that being an obstetrician takes a lot of work and effort but it entertains me more than any other career.
Gilead asserts complete control over women, refusing to let them vote, own property, read, have a job, or do anything that would make them seem to be independent from the men. Serena Joy's unhappiness shows that the male-dominated society cannot make women happy even if women are as pampered as they can be. While Serena Joy has no authority in Gilead, she has authority over Offred and takes pleasure in it. Gilead seeks to take individuality away from women, making each group of women exactly the same through their dress and stripping them of personality by limiting their contact with others and taking away their names. The womens' bodies are used as tools in the book. The political structure of Gilead was to promote reproduction, in which they do through taking control of the bodies of women. They are not treated as humans; they are seen as nothing more than their fertility. Gender roles are a predominant motif in the story, being seen in how women are referred to as their job, such as Wife, Handmaid, or
An obstetrician is a medical doctor who specializes in the management of pregnancy, labor and birth. They also receive specialized education in the area of the female reproductive system and surgical care. I am interested in this job because I like helping women with their pregnancy and help them take care of their self the right way while pregnant. I am also interested in this career because I would love to see the interesting thing in our bodies while pregnant and how the body works in many ways, which I will learn in medical school.
Teenagers constantly worry about their body image. Magazines, newspapers, and television don’t exactly help to boost their confidence. The portrayal of stick thin woman and body building men forces teens to believe they need to achieve that “perfect” body and look. The biggest issue of these images being broadcasted to teens is the effects that the images have on them. Teenagers who obsess over their body image can experience stress due to trying to impress others, develop an eating disorder, and neglect, and even jeopardize, important aspects of their lives when they focus too much on their body image.
